i think richard was a slave of some sort on the black rock, it would make the most sense because locke says to him in tonights ep. "nice to see you without those chains on you' or something to that effect.

with that being said, i think this whole lost show has become much more multi dimensional (if possible) so im fuckin pumped for the rest of the show!

Man you guessed exactly right! In episode Ab Aeterno your theory came true, he was indeed a slave of Black Rock crashing on the island and smashing the statue of Taweret in 1867. MiB says the same to Richard when he frees him from the chains, so thats why Richard knew who he was when he said that, before he just thought he was John Locke.

i think Richard came to the island on the black rock. Along with Jacob and Widmore. but widmore moved the island for some reason so he can never return. This explains why Widmore was interstid in the Black rock Auction.

At the end of season 4 when they got of the island they said they were only gorn for a year but they were got for three.

Richard could be any age. The island has Time Travelling capabilities so when Jacob makes a list of names, Richard time travels to round up the people so they get on the island. There are many references to Richard being the Devil aswell....but this is a show based on Physics so i dont think that would come into it tbh. Eitherway, he is a great character. Full of mystery.
