Sucks that we didnt get to see the capture just because the guy went into an area too rural and dark for the helicopters north of 6 Flags. I was hoping he would turn around and back into the view of the news choppers just enough so we could actually see the capture. The chick in the passenger seat it turned out was no hostage. She got arrested too.

@LimitedSki Actually no, when you are level with all the cars on freeway, all you see is a bunch of headlights behind you, with some flashing red and blue lights, totally different from watching from above with helicopter on TV. Plus the police lights were maybe 200 ft behind him, and he was going about 75 to 80 mph while everyone else was going about 60, I was expecting him to be further back.

@Icandrum2 As much as I love watching these chases that's a pretty lame thing to say... The 3rd strike law is some serious shit.. Someone with two strikes can do petty theft or a non violent crime and get LIFE in prison for 3rd strike... not defending these guys in any way... I'm just saying... have some respect for the police and the people who's lives are in danger during pursuits like this.. I would love to be a cop one day though.

@OnTheREDPILL i disagree. what IS pretty lame is the fact that the criminals are stupid enough to tack 2 or 3 strikes aganist them in the first place. what in the hell posseses them to do that anyway..... but it gives the officers a reason to be a police officer. to chase the bad guy and do some justice. with style and with precision. i respect and admire the police for putting their lives in danger but thats the risk that they understand and choose. im sorry if you mis-understood my comment.

@mrxxbrian I disagree. Depends on the time of day but there is always slower traffic in the outer right lane because of people getting on the freeway and the freeway interchanges.  Best bet is to have someone with you and take the carpool lane if the freeway has one.
