This song is like the story of my life: sexual abuse, repression, confusion, and perseverance as an adult in spite of the real me being something I left behind at the age of 3- someone I'm hoping to find again. I've been trapped with the big fish in a little pond, and been the little fish- when I was little, when I was in school, when I was in the workplace, persevering in spite of being pushed around by the big fish. But I haven't lost yet.

Funny thing is I just used an old Hi8 digital camcorder. The final look of the video came about in post by desaturating to b/w, adding a scratch and grain overlay, and adding a gaussian blur to the edges. Also, I added a few jump-cuts here and there and sped most of the shots up. If I had a real camera, I may not have to tried as hard to hide the fact that I was shooting on an obsolete video format. Maybe it worked in our favor?

Ashleigh, that was terrific! How did you put together that dolly? You definitely have an eye for cinematography. Are you doing any color correction in post? Make sure to white balance your interior shots to get away from the heavier yellow tones, unless that is what you're striving for. Great stuff!

Thanks!, yea the dolly was basically 2x2 piece of plywood, wheels fitted underneith that consist of 4 blocks of upside down trianglular shape each with 4 wheels that i took from the bearings inside some roller blades that pivot on the blocks each corner of the ply, pvc pipe for track and a tripod on top of the ply, i should make a video soon

The kid being "exploited" loves superheroes and running around like this on his own. This video serves as more of a document for the boy and his parents of what he was doing at this time in his life. Edison loves seeing himself on tv, and it's brought joy to his family and friends. Winning this competition would be a welcomed by-product of a day well spent with close friends doing something creative, which is what I love to do. I'm also guessing you were never a big fan of 'That's So Raven'.

Ugh, the end actually made me tear up a bit. I wasn't sure about it the first minute in, but you really pulled it together ...I love the silent film concept, though I can see how some people may not like all of the subtitles.
