They were £125 each if I'm not mistaken. I was lucky enough get tickets through the ballot & flogged the other ticket for £600 thru EBAY so the system wasn't perfect. Speaking to a few people in the queue on the Sunday when getting wristbands/tickets, it wasn't uncommon for both tickets to be bought from touts & still gain entry
Everytime I watch The Song Remains The Same I almost cry because I think of how they aren't ever gonna get back togther and play a gig like that in America again :(

In regards to Zep ripping off old Bluesman. It wasn't the music portion of the song, it was the lyrics that were lifted. And any smart person would know they didn't do anything different than what Blues performers "stole" from each other just the same way as Folk Artists did and just the same as my favorite Mozart lifted from his mentor Haydyn. Yeah, Zeppelin always said we should pay honor to these great bluesmen of the south and how their music was so underrated. So what does Jimmy Page , Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham do? They flat out STOLE music from the black blues singers of the south, made MILLIONS and I feel sure did not pay these people their due.

Are you being serious? Led Zeppelin is amazing, and I will give you that, but to say the Beatles are not the greatest band of all time is flat out ridiculous. You could say Led Zeppelin are the Beatles of Hard Rock. The Beatles are the Beatles of everything, and without them, its very likely that bands like Led Zeppelin wouldn't exist. Let's keep the peace and say both bands were extraordinary and fantastic artists because they were :D

Plant is the definitive rock vocalist, Page one of the top 5 greatest guitars, and Jones the same with the bass. As for Bonham, his syncopation is second to NONE, and he was the best. The construct of their songs is still stuck in my head since I was 15. There's no under surfaced meanings or melodies to give it weight, unlike Black Sabbath for instance. The allusions break quite quickly if you're a persistent listener to Metal and rock of '70s. But if you limit yourself to ONLY led zeppelin music you'll get dumber each day. Thats what commercialization is all about. Buys u easily. ass.

Stupid band. I cant believe I once listened to this shit. Commercialized Metal to 70's public who dont know anything about it. Over-frontile Lead singer that takes all the attention in the song. Vocals doesnt sync with music, but go seperately during (most) of songs. Too-organized composing of songs in "Steps" that dont co-op. Ridiculous vocal improvisations of lead singer in outros of songs. Lead singer too feminine for Metal. Stupid titles for songs (Babe "COMA" i'm gonna..)

Playing a ONE-OFF gig in London for 20,000 people when 20 million tried to buy tickets is just wrong. The least the band could do is play one TOUR...let some other people have a chance. They've pretty much told the fans, "fuck you- we can't get over ourselves to play for everybody". That sucks..

Yeah. The Beatles actually wrote their songs and didnt steal them from blues artist they "worshipped" so much. I WAS a BIG Zeppelin fan for over 35 years, but after all this, I put them in the same catagory as The Monkees!!!
