It's not just a matter of national pride, there's plenty of us that have that, it's a matter of money. Would I prefer to buy American? Yes. Personally, I would love to have all bikes, but can only afford a cheap used Japanese bike, although it is still a cruiser, not a crotch rocket. It goes and that's the fun part.

My 1986 XL Sportster 1200 will beat any 600 rice burner. I have 4 gears, so don't get too excited. Just set the timing after a rebuild and the acceleration is scary.
