We have our first roundabout in our little town. Many drivers think they have to stop at the yield sing, and then they wait for the yield sign to change.
The rules for using a roundabout are so simple I struggle to understand why so many people are unable to grasp them. Stop lights are almost never a good solution, they cause unnecessary congestion. If you have drivers with a tiny bit a common sense then a roundabout allows the traffic to keep flowing without the use of lights.
That said the roundabout in the video is quite large for a "mini" roundabout so a raised kerb in the middle could help persuade people to go around it.

Evidently people only partially recognise a painted line & something more is needed in situtations like this to take away or reduce the driver's abilty to overule a painted white line. .. @SonOfHassan I am not a fan of stop signs, but having been stuck at a traffic circle during rush hour, the stop sign does have an advantage when it comes to heavy traffic. I have been stuck at one traffic circle for over 10 minutes before cause there was so much traffic moving on the cross street that I couldn't get in, but with a stop sign you wouldn't have that problem.
As for low use roads, you are right, traffic circles are much better.

The whole point of roundabouts is that any vehicles that are already in the roundabout are the priority and not the cars waiting to enter the roundabout.
just because there's a big empty circle at the middle of the road doesn't mean you can cut through it, and for that reason, i have a clear desire to fire the architect who designed that roundabout...
