I agree exactly with what you're saying about the fret quality and such. I was in the market for a new guitar and was looking at a new ESP EC-1000 and it was great. But, I was able to get an Ibanez S2170FB Prestige on ebay for about 150 bucks more and the difference in the neck, fretwork, and finish overall is great. It really is the truth that you get what you pay for guitar wise. But yeah, I lucked out (the prestige was new) but I'd go used before brand new on anything over 800 bucks.
holy cow, dude once you started playing i was amazed by the clarity, especially with the clean channel, distortion hides many things but i think i'm gonna get me a set of these very soon for my seven string...
Hey Ty, its Icj here again. For the last 8 months I've been playing my douglas sr370. I was really happy about it. But I'm looking into buying a more well made 7 string but I cant decide. Theres a the Agile Septor Elite 727 DNC EB Tribal Purple or the Schecter Blackjack ATX C7. They both have the tone I want but what would you reccomend?.
P.s. How much are Agiles worth If I bought one and then wanted to sell it
HARH. I'm from singapore and i know where you got the inlays. XD don't be embarrassed man. you got a pink string winder. as long as it gets the job done. it's a funny fact that you'll always have with that guitar. and it's a great story to tell others too.
So what does having a baritone scale do to your tone and playability? i have an ibanez rga7 and have been curious whether its better. i tune my low B to A and play very high gain metal. Hate to use the label but deathcore. Loving the agile guitars and really am looking into getting one. Although may be tricky since im in England... Thanks, Dan.

that is so true man i have an agile n it seems that the fret work isnt all that greaat n they feel pretty small even though is a 25.5 scale but my other guitar which is a dean mlx feels better....any advice on how i can fix this?
Hey Ty, I have a douglas 7 string and I heard that if you want to put phase 1's in it then you dont have to remove or widen the pickup cavity? When you say that the phase 1's are standard size humbuckers does that mean that they fit in any 7 string that has a passive system?
unrelated but ur killing me with the cable sitting on ur knee like that. ur cabl will get worse quicker. oh and what was that cool tapping thing u did to compare clean and distorted tones?
Hey man, I'm on the verge of getting a semi-custom 7 with blackouts and just gotta sak you. So here it goes; do you know how big the difference in size is between the phase I and phase II? I think a 707 is more aesthetically pleasing than any regular EMG, so I thought the same about the blackout phases. Therefore, is it it worth going for phase II or should I stick to just phase I?
it seems like if fret work needs to be done, it might be better to just get a schecter, ive never had a playability problem with any schecter. but agiles are made in korea and schecters are now made in Indonesia..
if the fret wire is too small up in the higher register why not scallop the frets a little bit? BTW I too, watched the whole pimpin' series and man! I know how it is! NOTHING goes as smooth as it's supposed to while upgrading your guitar!
Im looking for a 7 string, and this is going to be my first one. Would you say the Agile is good for the price? Im into sweeping, tapping, etc. but you said that its not too great for that stuff. Is it just one of those things you get used to or is it just plain bad? Ive also never owned a floyd. Do you think this guitar would be too big of a hassle and should i start looking for other guitars? Sorry for all the questions, it would be a great help. Thanks.
I have a question: I'm more of a rhythm guitar player (especially when it comes to 7 strings...Christian Olde Wolbers, Dino); you mentioned the fretwire and trouble with the higher registers; would this be a problem for me who tends to stick with Fear Factory, ect... Thanks for your time and info...
hey man. was the transfer from 6 string to a 7 string baritone very diffucult? im looking to buy one of these and the model i like is only in naritone scale.
In short, yes it was a hard jump. But, its really all going to depend on your own playing/learning style. If you want the sound and possibilities of a 7 string, you're going to have to bite the bullet and really commit to mastering it. Thanks for watching, good luck with your decision.. Ty...
@TheBigBubba95 Sorry if this comment was directed specifically at the uploader, but i played 4 string guitar for 3 years and then switched t bass and i has made the transition much much easier. I mainly play rhythm guitar so allot of the low end runs that i learned from playing bass have been valuable. if ur not seriously interested in learning bass as well then just buy a cheap one from a pawn shop and it will make 7 and 8 string guitars a lot easier :D
Hey Ty, great video-it's just what I was needing to see/hear! I've been thinking about getting an Agile 7-string and debating about whether to get the Blackouts, I think they just started offering them [???]. Thanks for the heads up about the fret wire-but, I think I'm still gonna get one and give it a shot. Like you said, there are a lot of great features at a great price. I'm debating between the 27" and 25" scales---I saw one of your other vids about this subject.
imo you should turn down your presence/brightness or treble on your dist. or just turn up your bass because there is way too much treble. just some helpful advice
Awesome sounds dude, I was wondering if you had tabs for that tapping riff you played. By the way I've always loved seymour duncans but damn I would've never thought they sounded this unfathomably epic. Thanks for posting this it really helped me decide in favour of dropping the cash for these cheers mate...
just watched the whole pimpin my agile series. haha. Dear god, i'm sorry that it was such a pain man. I'd put the guitar through hella fter all that. haha. Glad to see it all done.
Glad to finally see the completion.. I subscribed a few days ago. I'm probably getting the same guitar as you. Too bad you don't live in Florida, I could be the chef at your restaurant. lol
The sound of sweet success!! The clarity on the blackouts is uncanny. It probably has a lot to do with the blackout/powerball combo. Even with the distortion every note rang beautifully. Great job with the install, review and playing. Very thorough.
@jaydog664 They can fit 7's that have standard passive sized pickups. Phase 2's are the ones that would replace the EMG 707s which have a more soap bar size.
Pickups shouldn't make or break your decision to buy a guitar. I didn't like the EMGs and the fact that the guitar didn't have inlays on the fretboard.. so, I changed both of those things. The thing about the Agile is you get a flamed maple top, mahogany back, neck thru construction, floyd rose... all for half of that what it'd cost for the same features from a company like Ibanez. Still feel I got my money's worth.. thanks for watching... Ty...
@GuitarGear1 alright cool because i want to replave the stack b.c.rich 7's in my b.c. rich jr V7 with phase one, and then regular 6 string blackouts in my 6 string b.c. rich jr V
why not shave the pups instead? i'm much more comfortable with sacrificing a bit of the epoxy. i had to do it once to get emgs into a dimarzio assembly.

@beurksman rondomusic has really nice hardtail extended scale 6 strings...if your lookin :) BUT, GuitarGear1 is prob right about the low cost - playability sacrifice point ... I have not played Agile guitars so I can't verify
@beurksman you know what's awesome though dude!? there's this thing you can get called the tremol-no that allows you to make your guitar a hardtail, dive bombs only, and then one other setting... it's only like 70 or 80 bucks and from the videos ive watched on it i plan on buying one FA SHO!!

how does the fret work compare to similar priced guitars like a shecter hellraiser or loomis , ibanez s7420, or esp 7 string?

@PhillMcCrackinn just the cover size. phase 1 is meant to fit most 7 string humbucker routes and the phase 2 is meant to retrofit a emg 707 route
