  • look at that fuckin' mustach.

  • I'm going to use a Les Paulverizer to fist-fight the two bottom-feeders that disliked this video. They'll be outnumbered 7-2

  • Two of the most amazing guitarists ever.

  • I literally just fell out of my flippin chair !!!

  • Les Paul was a beast!

  • holy !@#$

  • @EpiphoneArchtopLover... The problem that you don't understand is that there was only ONE model of the Gibson "Les Paul" guitar. Gibson didn't make a hundred thousand Les Paul's. Getting a star named after you is akin to having a sand pebble at the beach named after you. Stars are a dime-a-dozen. Anyone can get one. How many can have Gibson name a guitar after you???? Answer: 1. Les Paul.

  • @ColtDeltaElite10mm - I have to respectfully disagree with one of your statements. Gibson also produced the Tal Farlow, Barney Kessel and Trini Lopez guitars. None of those guitars, however, attained the iconic status or longevity of the Les Paul. Les was a true innovator on so many levels - what an amazing guy! He was also a very funny guy, he loved to get people to laugh and was great at it.

  • Les Paul talks and shows off his Les Paulverizer @7:49 mark

  • rca

  • Chet's so good looking!

  • Chet doing sweeps @3:28! Two true innovators of the electric guitar.

  • Les and Chet; nuff sed!

  • Wow....wow.....wow.......wow

  • A LOOPER and a HARMONIZER!! Whoa!!

  • Awesome! Two Monsters indeed!

  • Les seems like a real extrovert compared to Chet "it's a GIBSON.. LES.. PAUL." Whoopty doo, you have a guitar named after you. I have a star named after me..

  • These two didn't redefine 2 guitar brands, they cemented them into history. Both are such unbelievable talents and add to that Les Pauls role in the electronic end of what we hear today.

These two deserve a freakin federal holiday if anyone does !!!!!!!!!

  • MY GOODNESS! Why the heck haven't I seen this before? I must have just crawled out from under a rock or something. Simply amazing!!!

  • Borat ?

  • two big animals

  • wow....what talent an history....

  • 3:28 Chet getting down with some sweep picking arpeggios

  • Two of the guitar immortals...

We'll never see their like again...

    Fantastic post !

    Dan.

  • that bit at the end is mad!!! wheres the organ fifth's noise coming from???

  • The very first looper. Pretty darn cool.

  • I love how these two people, the two people who redefined two guitar brands (Gibson and Gretsch) were playing together. That alone blows my mind.

  • dam some one put the fire off ll hes so beast

  • The presenter is in no position to be commenting on how people look!!!!!

  • 今お奴らは、レス本人を知らなくて、軽々とレスポールとこく。このボケめが

  • Les Paul may be a bit manic in his playing...but not bad for a guy with a shattered right elbow that was set in place.

  • amazing...he had a loop device built into the guitar...

  • Les was a bit Hyperactive werent he hahah. What a cool guy. Chet is a cool guy, And he is a Gretsch player so he wins :)

  • Frank Zappa would be jealous of this.

  • WOW these guys r sweeping and tapping on Clean guitars long before it was cool

  • That thing he did at the end sounded like a sped up wurlitzer, weird.

  • "Avalon" was wonderful, the Les Paul interview was a scream.

The tune he's playing at top speed, at the end of this segment, is what is usually performed as a very polite waltz, entitled "Lover.")

  • @tuxguys Avalon on the record is much better. They play it at this speed, then Chet decides it's too slow, so they step it up and really smoke on it! The on record banter between them is what really makes the record, them just having a blast.

  • @rockinredneck57

I remember that... Something about Mel Bay guitar books, I think?

  • Looks like an early Gibson Ripper bass 3 p/u 5 way switch

  • That Gretsch sounds so fat!

  • There are a lot of reasons why people like Jimmy Page, a genius of the 60's respected Les Paul, a genius of the 50's. Les had rediculously awesome chops on top of all the other stuff he did. Chet is one of the world's tastiest players and can throw in the dazzle when he wants to, as we see here. Thanks for the upload.

  • AHHHHH!!! Chester & Lester are monsters of shred! Bring this stuff back to television! Tell Beiber & Kanye to go home, please.

  • Is that DJ Fontana on drums???

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of NBC News' Today's Entertainment News Report On Part 1 Of Les Paul And Chet Atkins On Wednesday Morning, July 5, 1978.

  • Look at all that amazing sweep picking they are doing!

  • lol this is awesome

  • these guys, ALL are MONSTERS!

  • That Chet Atkins Gretsch sounds so much better than that Les Paul recording

  • @BL80488 yeah maybe here.. but the Les Paul sound lives in Rock n Roll

  • @KennyParkz Everybody appears to be stoned in this clip.

  • @SmelOdies haha

  • Remarkable to see masters at play. This video is inspiring to see what true mastery looks like. It does not matter what the field or expression; what is inspiring in this video is the dedication, the talent, the skill, and the life force of focusing efforts to create excellence.

  • Man your all very mature people.... all focused on the music.. yeah the music is brilliant and very inspirational but WHOA that guys Moustache! Got very envious

  • NEVER will there EVER be another like LES PAUL!

  • Yeah !!!! Love Chet's glasses.

  • Remeber when Lovitz used to impersonate Shallit and they would zoom in and he would have about 2,000 ants dancing on his chest?

  • omg les paul was sick...

  • fantasmic!
