Just my opinion, but, if you can't relate to this song then your out of touch with the human family!! What never felt love? To bad, so sad! I'll pray for you. I grew up, back in the day! And believe me, this world today, can't touch what my generation had!!!!
The song's narrator mourns his deceased lover, beginning with him looking at a tree in their garden, remembering how "it was just a twig" on the day they planted it together, then reflecting on their relationship before lamenting the day "the angels came"
Is there anyone knows if there is a simple similarity or if it's a real plagiarism between this song of bobby goldsboro and the song called "les divorcés" by Michel Delpech a french singer? (You can find this song on youtube) thanks!

Without a doubt one of the most depressing records ever. Why it went to #1, I'll never know. If you're already depressed when you begin to listen to his insipid record, you'll be suicidal at the end of it. YUK!!!
@73soulboy There are probably a lot of things that puzzle you. I don't listen to this record, however, I have heard it. It came on randomly on the radio or I have had to play it while a dj at various stations. And kindly drop the name calling. Keep your replies intelligent and to the point. Grow up.
@russieross Why log on to youtube if you don't like the song? Surely you could turn off the radio if this song came on"randomly". I was wrong call an arse (twice) and for that I appologise.Pax to all from 73soulboy.Xxx.
