i always have trouble with petals of the rose but he made it look easy.. i tried his way and it really works.. though i dont really understand what he's saying i just hold the brush like he do and it works...
i love how simple he does the work and still the result is so beautiful...
umm.it's in chinese so i cant understand but u know wat ...i can understand by his art..not threw his voice of words..seeing his work doin art is how i understand
great video....but it would be greater if u plz add some translated english citation to the video...as description along with the video will be very helpful
This is the best demonstration using Chinese painting strokes that I have ever seen of this beautiful and delicate flower. I am trying to find more of Cui Quingquo's work. Can someone help me.
Hi Gail, we have included a Google link to Cui's pictures and books. Hopefully this will help. As of now, we are sure if Master Cui has any book in English.
The second peony on the right shows the errors. Too separate. Doesn't look good.
To fix it, you need to add smaller petals and make them uneven. Notice how the darker color is on the tip of the brush. The color is graded. Darker center is not dots. A small curved line. Gong bi contrasted with spontaneous style at the end. Hope this helps. Missing some points he made.
Thanks for pointing this out and the translation. It seemed that the painter did not finish speaking for the second one and then moved onto the third one.
We have emailed you bookstores where you may purchase the kind of "goat hair brush" that Mr. Cui is using here. You may choose similar sizes as shown here.
I would like it to have subtitles as i would also like to learn the culture.

Thank you for this.
I am a Falun Gong practitioner. Falun Dafa is a cultivation system in the Buddha School based on the principles of the Universe:

Since 1999 it has been brutally persecuted by the CCP in China.

wonderful, really.
Can you add English subtitle or voice over? Would be priceless.
I notice that it's hard to get color inks, mostly black. Wonder if it's possible to do with watercolors.
Thanks.

The brush is a what the Chinese call a "soft " brush, probably made of
goat hair. The opposite is a wolf hair dark brush that springs back.

The painter is using a large and soft goat hair brush instead of a weasel brush. Thanks.
