ma3 kol e7tram ya 7absikanay, Muhammad Medhat is truly one of the nation's finest violinists (see his work with Sahara band, and Music Matbakh), and replacing nay with violin in some of eftekasat's pieces doesn't degrade the music one bit (it was even better in some of them), however, I must agree with you that a BIG portion of eftekasat's identity is missed when Badry is not there.
