  • I cant believe they didn't put her entire healing and then falling in love with faramir in the theartrical version... I think eowyn was one of the few characters that wasn't portrayed as good as she was in the book..

  • i love eowyn's hair!!!

  • @Americangal18

Sure did. One of my favorite parts in the book. :)

  • The hands of a king are the hands of a healer

  • The way he screams when he sees his sister breaks my heart

  • i don't remember her dying

  • @1XMadcowX1 She doesn't die, he just thinks she is. That'd be anyone's first thought.

  • I would have preferred to see Eomer nursing Eowyn back to health.

  • Does Aragorn's ring have any power? Because he somehow manages to cure Eowyn with a soggy cloth, which makes absolutely no sense. The camera does a close up on his ring when he's wringing the cloth out, though, as though it's drawing attention to its power...so does it have some kind of healing power or what?

  • @franka64 The cloth is magic.

  • @Fudo94 Wrong. In the books, Aragorn has a natural healing ability due to his Dunedain race. They deleted this scene to make Aragon more human-like.

  • @KidChaos878 Hard to for you to grasp sarcasm or what?

  • @franka64 ht tp://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Houses_of_Healing

  • @franka64 the hands of the king are healing hands.

  • Apparently, a cloth drenched in a bucket of Aragorn's man sweat can revive Eowyn.

  • @Dudeinator6599

    LOL! Awesome comment!!! XD

  • @Dudeinator6599 it's not that. it's the touch of his hand to hers, and he goes into the Shadow to call her back. that's what a Healers does.

  • @mileKitic01 this one is called Arwen's Song ! .. Favorite track in the whole series!

  • does someone know the name of the soundtrack ??

  • We all know that Faramir had been standing there for an hour just waiting for her to wake up :)

  • @prepostmodernism did he really? in the books I mean.

  • Liv Tyler sings so beautiful in this song, I wish this extra scene was kept in the movie, especially when the actor who portrays Eomer does such an awesome job acting in it!

  • I'm melting when i see Faramir's way of looking! <3 David Wenham is a really talented actor!

  • 0:24 what is Gandalf thinking......

    creepy......

  • Does anyone know the title to this song?? It is such a beautiful piece, yet is not included in the movie soundtrack...

  • @ninjaguy107 It's only on the complete recordings!

It's called The House of Healing and that is actually Liv Tyler (Arwen) singing!

Just search House of Healing Lord of the Rings and it should be the first result :)

  • @ninjaguy107 It's called "Arwen's song" by Howard shore from the album Lord of the rings: The rarities archive

  • 0:38 he tuches tits?

  • @alicefrugoli If your sister was almost DEAD at your feet and there was nothing you could do you would cry too unsensitive PRICK.

  • Why did they not put that in, i mean that is really good acting by Eomer!

It's ridiculous how some extended editions that should be there are taken out, i dont care if it makes the movie even longer, it makes it more sense!

  • The only blade that can hurt a hero is love

  • someone knows the name of the song? i watched the 3 movies on sunday and yesterday on bluray extended :D

  • I see why this scene didn't make the cut, but I wish it did :P

  • get it faramir, get it.

  • they should have added a fuck scene

  • I remember seeing this scene in the first RotK trailer in Septmber 2003 and being *so* disappointed when it wasn't in the theatrical release. It was one of my favourite parts of the book too, when he charges off screaming "Death take us all!" There's so much emotion in this video - the bewilderment on his face is heartbreaking.

  • Could someone tell me whats happened here? I havent watched or have the extended edition and I'm trying to watch these clips and put pieces together but at what point does Eowyn nearly die? I'm sure in the film she just kills that guy with the helmet (I'm sorry I'm terrible with names, can't call myself a true fan can I?) and thats that for her on the battle field, so does an Orc stab her or something? And at what point has she and Faramir met? :P

  • @celtickid1683 Eowyn is wounded when she is hit by the Witch King's Mace and aslo when she stabs him. Pippin is also afflicted but they don't show that as well. Eowyn meets Faramir in the house of healing after she is healed because she is not fit for battle until she recovers.

  • @areecemckenzieyahoo Ah I see thank you very much =)

  • @celtickid1683 I have read the books and can tell you exactly what happens. Eowyn's arm is broken by the witch king's mace but her 'soul' is wounded when she stabs him (Pippin's, too.). Only the true king of Gondor has the power to save either of them. Aragorn heals her but she is still deeply depressed because he does not love her. She meets Farimir and he heals her of that 'affliction'.

  • Why was this taken out! Great acting by Karl Urban and we actually get some back story on Eowyn and Faramir! The other scene with those 2 should have been saved too...

  • After putting that much effort into the CUT scene of finding your sister, I'd be pissed the fuck off if I was him

  • This scene is probably in my top 5 favorite scenes from the trilogy.

  • aw why did they take it out? i saw this in the trailer too and Eomer's acting was great!

  • The song makes me shiver... "With a sigh You turn away With a deepening heart No words to say You will find That the world has changed Forever And the trees are now Turning from green to gold And the sun is now fading I wish I could hold you closer "
  • Shouldn't of cut this out. It didn't last very long, and it explained what happened to Eowyn and Faramir after it was all over. =[ I still love the movie, though. I can't help but love it. X]

  • Don't know why they edited out this scene.

  • So why did hollywood change this story? Personally I think Faramir is wonderful, and wanted to see more about him and Eowyn . Do you think it was because the actor playing Faramir wasn't well known? I wish for once a movie from hollywood would follow true to the books its based on. Is that asking too much?

  • It doesn't show in the movie but Aragorn heals Merry as well from the WK's poison.

  • @MrDreamdweller I got a little mad about that but at least Merry was found by Pippin

  • a cry of pure agony ..They never should have cut this scene or the Eowyn/ Faramir ones either, for that matter..they are the parts that I like from the book and they didn't get put in the theatrical release..:(

  • It's a shame they cut out most of Urban's best scenes from the theatrical cut. Extended edition is a must.

  • ar 0:22 why is gandalf smiling?

  • @angelofdarkness49 he's like "yeah aragorn's mine biatch!

  • Karl Urban's performance is amazing. What a talented actor.... this brought tears to my eyes

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SONG ?

  • @sAdnesswillneverendd "The Houses of Healing"

  • @Sun2strider thanks !

  • when he finds his sister, just so touching.

  • Eomer is a though guy and one of the bravest Marshall of Rohan (king now). But when he saw Eowyn, he showed how to be a brother.

In every warrior lies love, how though he can be.

  • @345Doler yes indeed he is a very though guy. he couldn't get any thougher

  • Imagine what Eowyn is feeling. She just traveled miles and miles away from her home, fought in a huge battle and wakes up in a huge city.

  • I love the song

  • jesus christ i remember when i first saw this i freaking cried because omg the way he yelled. ugh chills everywhere

  • i love this scene. eomer crying out for his sister is so moving

  • Its so sad, he is one of the strongest generals. and One of the most trusted brothers. If my brother would cry for me that way, i would be moved.

  • THIS.SHOULD.HAVE.BEEN.IN.THE.MOVIE!

  • I wish this scene hadn't been cut out. Its so emotional and Karl Urbans acting is superb in it .

  • Why the fuck was Gandalf smiling!?

  • @kattekind1 because he knew Aragorn could save Eowyn. The King of Gondor had healing hands and could cure the Black Breath; it was part of the prophecy surrounding the return of Isildur's heir.

  • @kattekind1 i think he's grimacing... considering the creepy smile he does at the end of the 3rd film... :P

  • Finding out that your own sister was not only in the battle but dies would most definitely be heart-wrenching. OMG that was such a sad moment and honestly should never have been taken out of the theatrical release. Of course Eowyn was not dead, but what a performance from Karl Urban for that. He should definitely be recognized more as an actor.

  • @TheShockninja It did happen in the book too as well, Éomer thought she was dead. He thought she was carried away with Théoden.

  • Within the first 10 seconds I knew they shouldn't have cut this scene. Eomer's scream at finding his sister "dead" on the battlefield took the air from my lungs. My heart ached! The look of pure grief on his face. Karl Urban did an amazing job!

  • @iceblonde Well Its in the Extended Edition of the movie . I can't imagine watching LOTR without it though.

  • @iceblonde He usually does and she wasn't dead, read the books.

  • @Baronstone I know she's not dead, I'm just saying for him that could be how it looked when he found her on the battlefield.

  • Comment removed

  • Why would they ever cut this scene!? I'm glad that we got the extended editions!!! :D

  • what song is this?!?!?!?!?!?

  • @101speedsketch Its called Arwen's song!!

  • @101speedsketch It's sung by Liv Tyler - Arwen's actress.

  • @Elainiwen oh no way! thats pretty badass :P

  • @101speedsketch Well, she's Steven Tyler's daughter. :P Clearly she has inherited some vocal skills. :)

  • its my favorite scene in the movie. its sooo sad and cute :)

  • this makes me want to buy the extended edition...

  • Anyone else start to cry when you heard Eomer cry out for his sister?

  • @nickcarterroxs wtf??????????????????????

  • @K1ps1 What do you mean? You would be sad too if you were him.

  • @nickcarterroxs i do....

  • @nickcarterroxs no i do not

  • since when do screams need subtitles?!

  • @buffy21033 all the subtitles say is screaming lol. Just like when you smile and laugh, deaf turkish people might not know that there is laughter accompanying the smile

  • @flame0731 that's true, but the subtitles were like 'Hahr!' can't it just say scream? :p

  • @buffy21033 I don't think it matters.

  • @flame0731 It dosen't really, I was just saying.

  • @buffy21033 lol I know. No harm no foul

  • @flame0731 :p love that saying

  • @flame0731

No, actually the subtitles do not say "screaming" - they say "No!"

(Random question: Do people actually yell "nooooooo!" in moments like that? In my opinion, Eomer's reaction seems more raw and natural.)

  • @glykera Well you should notice I was replying to someone else and that semantics of words does not matter. Screaming/yelling can be interchangeable at times. I never said it said screaming. I mean obviously the word "screaming" isn't typed out.

No people don't really yell no. Unless it's devastatingly surprising I guess.

  • @flame0731

You don't make much sense and I actually don't see why you replied to me at all...

  • Wtf Faramir doing there

  • @craigbenj He almost died when he went to take back the stronghold by the river for his dad then when he came back his dad thought he died (he was just badly hurt). Instead of getting him medicine his dad tried to burn him and his son to death. But then Gandalf and Pippin saved Faramir (his dad died). So now Faramir went to the healing place so he wouldn't die.

  • Eomer's scream of anguish is heartbreaking. It is indeed bone chilling to see this. And how Aragon cures here is also beautifull to see. He cures her using his powers he inherited from the old kings of Numenor. Tolkien by the way used Numenor as a way to explain the legend of Atlantis.

  • Damn...that scream in the beginning sent chills right down my spin!

  • is this some song??? the background music.... please let me know.... i love it...

  • So, Aragorn helped her heal after she gave him that soup.

  • @Snickerbzp Did you know gimi told aragon the soup tasted like crap mix with orc crap

  • What is the story from the book? Eowyn is in love with Aragorn, but she marries Faramir?

  • @JanaSklibova yeah, and Faramir becomes prince of Ithilien (Minas Morgul). In the extended edition they show a small scene where they hint at a romance with Eowyn and Faramir

  • @Tmartin1438 Small note, Minas Morgul is quite a way off from Ithilien.

  • @SindielxEternal I think Minas Morgul used to be Minas Ithil, and Ithilien is the area surrounding it.

  • @JanaSklibova No. She realizes that she can't have Aragorn. Faramir was a whole 'nother thing that got developed through time and comeraderie and stuff. It's actually one of my favorite pairings in the novels- I like it much better than Aragorn/Arwen.

  • definitely....such amazing acting. crazy how these films still make my heart pound after all the times i've seen them, even without the extra scenes.

  • 1:39 : Eowyn looks beautiful.

    JEALOUS. jk Eowyn rocks

  • That's Arwen singing! Funny, eh?

  • Now Faramir is in Love.

  • It's a beautiful song, Arwen's Song, Peter Jackson originally was going to use her recording in The Two Towers, but did'nt think it fit the scene, then decided to use it in Return of The King. Eomer is amazing in this scene. The hope in his eyes when he sees Aragorn.

  • Why the fuck did they take so much out of the movie?!

  • This is one of my favorite scenes in the whole trilogy. It just has such an epicness about it: the amazing music and Eowyn walking to the window of the castle in women's traditional medieval clothing. Gosh, I love The Lord of the Rings and high fantasy!

  • @coldboxster23 I don't think so. He rode into battle with Theoden & was prepared for the possibility of his being killed. Theoden was his uncle & had lived a full life before dying in honor on the battlefield.

Eowyn was his only sister (& no doubt his younger sister), and he had no idea she had ridden out with them until he found her presumed dead body beside the king. In his uncle's case, he was grieved, but in his sister's case, there was absolute shock, horror, & fury on top of the grief.

  • karl urban... mmmm awesome actor

  • A pretty damn important chapter in the book reduced to a dialogue-free 50 second scene excised from the theatrical version.

    Well done Pete.

  • Ha! All the cool guys have long hair.

    Proud to be a metalhead!!!!

  • @shohchkheh long hair is cool

  • ZOMG eomer sreaming

  • Holy shit O_O...... So much shit not in the movie.

  • So screaming needs subtitles now? Right...

  • KARL URBAN.

  • That scream Karl Urban does at the beginning of this shot is bone chilling. ><

  • @ArcInTheSky27 Sign of a good actor =P

    any1 else think hes underrated?

  • @stevenward6789 Extremely underrated. :/

  • whats the song??

  • wait..is she like dead and aragorn heals her? cause it sort of seems like that.

  • @olga19971 No, but near the brink of death. It was something to do with the aftereffect of stabbing the Witch King, combined with the death wish she had, knowing that what she felt for Aragorn was not reciprocated.

  • @olga19971 They explain things in more detail in the book. Her fight with the Witch King left her wounded, similarly to Frodo's Morgul Blade stab. Aragorn's lineage was that of kings, known also to be great healers. And without his ability she likely would have died. Been a LONG time since I've read the book, but that's the gist of it. :)

  • Aragorn's hands amaze me...

  • I love Karl Urban!!!

  • Knowing that Liv Tyler sang this song makes me love it and her so much more. It's heartbreaking when you think Eowyn may die, but Aragorn heals her, and Arwen's song is so lovely.

  • So eowyn was actually dieing in extended version :S

  • 0:24 why is Gandalf smiling?

  • @blah6755

I don't think he is happy or anything... I think he just admires Eowyn's courage :)

  • @siridavidsen ohhhh, ok. I was really confused there. thanks

  • liv tyler has such a beautiful voice!

  • Shes so beautiful omg.

  • so all she needed was a wet washcloth...

  • @geikogecko “'Would that there were kings in Gondor, as there were once upon a time, they say! For it is said in old lore: hands of the king are the hands of the healer. And so the rightful king could ever be known.”

And Gandalf, who stood by, said: “Men may long remember your words, Ioreth! For there is hope in them. Maybe a king has indeed returned to Gondor; or have you not heard the strange tidings that have come to the City?'”

It's part of the way Aragorn proves he's King.

  • so... screaming needs subtitles now? ok then...

  • Wait... when the hell does this happen!? I have the movies on DVD and the last scenes of Eowyn are her defeating the witch king dude.

  • @dragonofthedarknight Extended version ;)

  • this scene was really touching.. loved how Karl Urban gave justice to Eomer's character..

  • His name is Éomer, not Eomir or something like that >.< go read the book!

  • i think they should not have erased some scenes from the movie. After all if their problem was time, no one would have complained about possible movie 4 or part 2 of 3rd movie. I wish there was more about characters like Arwen and Aragorn, Eowyn and Faramir, Jomer, Legolas, Giml and elves. They were hardly showing any elves apart from Arwen, maybe two scenes in every movie seriously... The story had so much more potential ::)) Thumbs up who agrees :D

  • @MarianaPhoenix lol just read the book

  • @MLGiZRiPPiN me too and to be honest i was dissapointed at arwen on the end. Well at least Faramir and Eowyn had better ending then in the movie. It's fun how they all apart from Aragorn, Pipin and Merry went to the grey heavens on the end ::))

  • @MarianaPhoenix Pippin and Merry get high positions in the Shire after the last elven ship leaves for the west. But they leave the shire for ever eventually to spend the last years of their lives in Rohan and Gondor . When they die they are buried with great honour.

  • @Darklord6425 yes i know i did read that part.

  • Breaks my heart. Gah

  • I wanna get hurt and have Aragorn heals me :D

  • @lalbenatan thats the dream lol

  • The vid started playing and Eomir screams all of a sudden cracked me up XDD

  • Liv Tyler has a beautiful voice

  • ZOMG. EOMIR IS BONES! xD

  • I think Aragorn is mostly lonely.

  • Aragorn is too kind...
