I have been a fan of Anne's since the beginning. All of her songs are great. All of her love songs & especially "Over You" no one sings them like Anne.

So that I don't come off as debating, let me put it this way: Anne Murray, though judged by some of her harsher critics as a so-so singer, is really one of the best who has left her mark and still does so with each post-heyday era album. She's a class act. As to Karen Carpenter: You are talking about a sweet voice and a unique voice that was unaffected, pure and even warmer in some ways. Also, one of a kind. As singers, they are both pure gold in recording sales and as people! I miss Karen too!

I couldn't agree more - to ALL of your comments. Both Anne & Karen are 2 of my very favorites; & while they ARE given great aclaim - they are consistenly short-changed for their unique talent. My theory on that is simpy because they just made their God given gift look so damned easy..when in reality, they strove for the perfection they so greatly (& ALWAYS) reached.

Mercy, this is a gorgeous song. When I clicked on it, I thought it was gonna' be a cover version of Gary Puckett & the Union Gap's big hit "over You". Both songs are awesome, but this is the 1st time I've heard this song. If you haven't heard Gary Puckett's song, check it out. You'll thank me. When he was in his prime, he had one of the purest male voices.
