I'm a Lion's fan... but as I recall, the rest of the season didn't go so well, and we missed the playoffs. Radio DJs Dick Purtan and Tom Ryan, I believe, produces another version of this song called: "Another One Beats Our Butts" as the Lion's fortunes turned sour....
Great video- I am a friend of Spiderman Allen and just talked to him about this Youtube page, which he has seen and enjoys. Jimmy wanted me to help set the record straight- although he was homeless for a time some years ago, he is doing well today and wishes the best to all his fans past and present.
Billy Simms, Eric Hipple, Gary Danielson, Barry Sunders and many others would have been on a Wheaties Box if they'd have played on any other team. One of the many pathetic things about the Detroit Lions is the number of talented football players who's careers were wasted playing for this team.
I have this single at my Mom's house, great memories of the Lions back then when I was a little kid! :)

Lions 3-0 and it brings me back to this song.
This time around they better make the Playoffs unlike they did in 1980.
Of course it took a hail mary to Ahmad Rashad at the Metropolitan Stadium to knock us out.
