Actually, it was revealed today that Silva was nursing a back injury. This prevented him from training his wrestling and from fully executing proper take down defense. I think he just got hyped toward the end because he could "go for broke" knowing that the fight was ending...

He may have played around some, but when he sincerely went for the finish he gassed I believe... he has never fought 3 rounds anyway let alone without proper training...

The reason Thiago didn't try to jump on rashad in the third and finish him is because Thiago was tired as well. I think he was using the "showboating" as a cover and a time to rest.
