still have a split image on dvd play. used the 999 cause it is easier because i have the tv in a rental and users are not likely to be able to deal with anything too complicated (nor should they have to. i am really thankful for your efforts to solve this problem and also like the suggestion to post a solution to anything someone is able to solve so that everyone shares as in the true internet tradition
There is an easy way to do this just press the button next to caption and then channel down until you see aux then press the same button till it says add next to aux and there you go no unhooking cables and you don't have to destroy the remote and who the fuck has an extra pad with the extra buttons to use if you do decide to destroy their remote
I think I figured out an alternative. I was having the same problems, so i just started pressing buttons in random sequences until something happened. I discovered if you have your xbox or whatever running and plugged in, and you open menu then channel down while menu is up, it should bring you to the aux channel. Hopefully this works for anyone else with this problem!

Thanks for posting this! This worked on an older Zenith Concierge. The panel on the tv with the buttons looked like the one in this video. I was able to use those buttons to access the menu to do the channel search. The remote had hidden buttons too.
