I can tell this movie struck a cord with you internally. Movies like this can change your brain wave patterns to alpha state, making you subject or open to .....many things. As a christian i think you know what i mean. I use to love a good scary movie. But i have come to realize this stuff is not totally harmless. And certain people may use this form of media for other things besides just entertainment and making money. I think the bible describes our world well...deception. Looks scary =P

As for the ending, *SPOILER* I saw both the one with the police and the throwing of Micah into the camera. And I have to say, Speilberg killed the movie with his ending, even though it was much scarier. The police one was like "Micah? Micah?" *shoot* dead. Letdown.

The boring part was definitely needed to project authenticity, because that's how that shit would happen, start slowly then build up and eventually climax. If you don't appreciate the boring then you can't appreciate the rest.
Totally agree with your comments. I can "handle" scary movies, but as I've read in a couple reviews of this one, this one "gets under your skin." Good way to put it. I too stayed up way too late after I saw it because of every little sound in my house. Good warning about people who live in spooky or possibly haunted environments... The chorus of screaming occurred in the theater when I saw it too. ps. you don't look old enough to have a teenager... :-)
This was definitely an effective movie. I thought the pacing was actually really good. Have you seen [REC]? Now that movie had an extremely slow start, but I thought the slow reveal in Paranormal Activity was done well.

I did because of how you said the whole theater reacted to it...I thought this was just another ghost haunting movie, but when it starts dealing with demons and possession, that's what makes it real to me. In my opinion is that if you believe that there is good or God in this world, then there has to be evil. I know this particular case was not real, but I do think it is possible. Thanks for the review
yes it's actually based on a true story, not on the couple though. the paranormal activities were actually happened to the director of this film, and was happened in the same house where they filmed the movie(so freaky *.*)
not true, if you watch the credits at the end, they scroll up really quickly, it says "the characters in this film are fictitious and any resemblance to real people living or dead is coincidence" not the exact quote but along those lines
if you want to know the truth, the director moved into a new house and there were creaks and sounds , because the house was settling in. He then got the idea for the movie from those sounds and came up with the idea of filming a couple while they sleep to create a scare factor. so no there isnt a fucking demon walking around oren peli's house LMAO

One of my favorite things to do is watch a scary movie alone at night while no one is home. Then see if I even care when I get up and walk around the house. If I am creeped out then I think it is a scary movie - most of the time, I just laugh!!!
this movie is most real based on REAL facts.. that the saw 6 is scary indeed..but not so real like this...dont compare this movie with others horror movies...this is something different.

I read somewhere that the budget for the whole move was $11,000 and those 2 people alone filmed the whole thing. That can not be true. They had to do some editing somehow, cause 2 people couldn't have done some of that stuff.
One of the better horror movies you'll ever see. Confronting the idea of possibly needing to fear for your life at the hands of the person you love the most in the place you feel would be your safest is something that everyone seems to be missing. It is hilarious to see the difference in these youtube reviews as compared to say Roger Ebert style reviews.
Yes... that is the scary part... You realize when you get home that you have thought about the things they go through in the movie before. Then you wonder if it is possible that you could ever have the same thing happen to you. You could tell that they were not actors and that made it seem more real. The good part is that it was fake. Can you imagine if this was a reality thing??? That would be so crazy.

i love scary movies, and this was soooo bad.. i could film this with my friends. the acting was bad, story didn't make much sense with little background, the camera style was absoultely stupid for this type of movie. overall it was really boring, i felt tired after it

I agree with you. It seems like anyone could have filmed this. There wasn't any acting!!! And story was comical... But, it would have been killer if it was real. Like a reality type show. How did they film the part where she got pulled out of bed though?

I saw the movie the movie sucked it wasn't even scary whatsoever. If you really want to get scared get a ouijaboard and be satanic and do witchcraft like I did, now that shit is scary not some low budgit movie with horriable graphics

When I was a teenager - at a slumber party - we were playing with a ouija board and it the little piece flew off the table and stabbed me in the leg. I still have a scar from it. It made a scar, but it didn't bleed. Do you think that means anything?

One of my favorite things to do is watch a scary movie alone at night while no one is home. Then see if I even care when I get up and walk around the house. If I am creeped out then I think it is a scary movie - most of the time, I just laugh!!!

Just saw this, was rly creepy. I'd give it a 9/10. Definitely a original well thought out movie and with a 11,000 budget it's simply amazing. People who thought this movie was stupid are just people who want action action action the entire time. Not a movie for the impatient.

it you really didn't think it was scary than you're just a very shallow person, and you need to grow up. obviously you're the type of person the american cinema markets the rest of its horror movies toward. if you're looking for a cheap thrill than this movie isn't for you. it won't try to make you jump out of your seat with the sucker punches that we've grown accustomed to. this movie is deeply disturbing.

I think a lot of people were just like you. It is the people that get scared easily that were getting so freaked out. I think it is kind of funny what people do in movies - cause the whole time I am thinking that is the last thing I would do if that happened to me.

I read somewhere that the budget for the whole move was $11,000 and those 2 people alone filmed the whole thing. That can not be true. They had to do some editing somehow, cause 2 people couldn't have done some of that stuff.

There were more people involved then just the two of them.
There was a director who wrote and filmed the whole thing... in his house!!
I don't know if there was anyone else on crew, but I bet there was other people helping out.
And I also wondered how they made it look so real when she just would stand by the bed and they sped it up. O.o She wasn't standing there for hours.

One of the better horror movies you'll ever see. Confronting the idea of possibly needing to fear for your life at the hands of the person you love the most in the place you feel would be your safest is something that everyone seems to be missing. It is hilarious to see the difference in these youtube reviews as compared to say Roger Ebert style reviews.

Yes... that is the scary part... You realize when you get home that you have thought about the things they go through in the movie before. Then you wonder if it is possible that you could ever have the same thing happen to you. It is funny when you think about a review is just someone's opinion - so really anyone is qualified to give one!!! Some people just get paid for their thoughts!!! LOL
