  • The War on Drugs only causes criminal organization to thrive which produces more drugs than would have been produced if the drugs were legal. One Trillion on fighting drugs but more drugs are being produced. What a joke. America is failing due to these horrible politicians.

  • lol i come from colombia, ive seen fields of weed, and even bigger fields of coca plants, it is so fucking cheap, and easy to get, yet it is ellegal, now i live in new york, and fucking weed is mega expensive, i dont care about any other drugs, meth cocaine crack opium ect. all i want is my weed, makes you relaxed and non violent. :D

  • @funterms7 Come to British Columbia, Canada. Marijuana laws are really lax here and many people openly smoke it on public streets without fear of being arrested. In Canada if you are caught growing over 200 plants I think that the maximum sentence that you can get is 5 years. Pretty lax compared to America where if you were caught with 200 plant then you would probably be in jail for the rest of your life. My advice is to move to Canada. It is a much better country is so many ways.

  • this war will not be over until Amer. quit buying I D s and stop using them no n one needs The I D s DRUGS DEALERS MAKE MONEY(GREED) It is time to find a better way to live / those who need to kill their can get many things here

  • @0413kat Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier just to legalize it?

  • They could win the war on drugs if they wanted to. Eliminating paper money would put drug dealers all over the world out of business overnight.

  • Legalize and regulate ALL currently illegal drugs! The revenues made by taxing them could in turn be used to fund healthcare and treatments of possible harms some drugs might cause. The drugs themselves could be sold in a form to minimize potential harms, for example a cocaine nasal spray enriched with substances that help regenerate the nasal tissue. Opium could be sold in different forms either as predosed pills for eating or for vaporizing.

  • @Scorpitarios TBH, I am for legalization of all drugs. I will only do pot tho. It shouldn't be up to the government what we put in our bodies

  • @gmanhell94 I agree! If we really were in a free country, we'd have the right to put anything we want into our own bodies - required we don't harm anyone else. I don't need a government to tell me that taking drugs might be bad for my health, even less a proto-fascist ideology that results in the demonization, ill treatment and mass-incarceration of drug users.

  • Brazilian movie, btw..

  • @SouthardJon LOL that's such bull. I've never smoked it, never will, and am totally against smoking it but I know a good number of people who do and that is just the biggest load of bull I've ever heard.

  • the war on drugs is not against drugs, its against the people who use them. Legalize the ganja.

  • amerikkka, home of the DEA and unlimited government. The land of the free (?) where people are sent to jail for smoking a plant.

  • Google "Portugal 2001 Decriminalization of Drugs"

  • you cannot win a war of drugs with one hand. if your other

hand is part of the problem . the same US gov. traffic with drugs.

use youtube search and see by yourselves ,you will find interesting evidence there.

Legalize will not work if the drug is being sold in other countries.

What they can do is ,. free drugs programs with the intention to help people end their adiction. with hospitals supervision.. and make it illegal to sell it only.

  • Comment removed

  • you just make all the drugs legal the us would make a shit ton of money selling it all and i mean in every store they have every drug it would be awesome and work out for all.

  • Did the US win any war? War on Drugs, War on terrorism, War on poverty, war on HIV,... I guess they did win one - war on Human Rights & Freedom

  • Can law-abiding citizens be coke heads? Can congressmen be wild and crazy teens? Can capitalist pigs be folk heroes? Can I tell you it's raining while I pee on you? Why, yes! And Dr. Pinkus just wants you to be healthy!

  • The boondoggle policies are very effective for what they're designed: enriching the right people. And devil take the victims, or should I say taxpayer take the victims. How did our government get so evil and oppressive? Same way these godforsaken drug policies came around: payola and corruption, because that's what all government becomes. Our government has become a massive, putrid crime syndicate.

  • You wouldn't think a rock solid Conservative is AGAINST virtually all drug laws. Well, you're reading one of MANY years! It is NOT a war on drugs but just more abusive onerous disgusting illegal control of US CITIZENS by a corrupt government. Read the true history of drug laws and most were voted in to punish minorities and the poor. Especially pot - aimed DIRECTLY at blacks by FDR and his band of far-left socialists (a.k.a. Communists). .

  • @shanepaulcoward I did not know that, how bad and sad.

  • "zero tolerance!" "capital punishment for drug abuse!" "throw stoners into jail!"

can you see the absurdity? our politicians are not better than the Nazis!

  • help drug addicts and do not punish them! there are sick drug addicts and there are healthy drug users! the alcohol prohibition failed... drug prohibition, too!

  • Benjamin Franklin Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one

    ___

Fuck it lets kill everybody that get in prison. We could make people so bat shit scared that they will piss their pants once somebody would try to accuse them for something. We can make this world a paradise and we could make a new law that our purpose of living is only working and sleeping and if you think otherwise you get killed.

  • We should be on the brink of this but it could still take forever. The world often seems to wait for the U.S. to make the first move. We have an example of how decriminalization works from Portugal and people seem to be sick of prohibition anyway. I don't see what gives, the drug war has been 40 years of fail and they want to keep spending money on it?

  • "Federal and state laws (should) be changed to no longer make it a crime to possess marijuana for private use." — Richard Nixon

Even he could see it after enough time- of course by then he had no incentive keeping it illegal.

  • American politicians' most used drug:

    F r e e D U M B!

  • Legalize. Its the only way. Look at the stats, and you will see country's with legalization, have way less crime, less death, more happiness.

  • @m1up Yep.. "more happiness"... everyone will be high...

  • @jushyosaha604

the vast majority of those countries also see little to no increase in new cannabis smokers, which leads me to believe that this "war on drugs" is lining a few politicians (and their buddy's of course) pockets with LOADS of cash.

  • @m1up I agree; drugs are obviously a bad thing but people should be smart enough to make their own decisions. We have other things we need to spend money on like education, jobs, etc.

  • @jushyosaha604

Exactly. Hell, if pot was legalized and privatized, all that money could go towards needed government programs, such as education or programs for youth who live in poverty. War on drugs only costs peoples lives and costs the good taxpayer money. Hell, even give that money to NASA! I bet THEN we would be on Mars and back by now.

  • how many people have died for this so called 'war'.. LEGALIZE

  • Man, Fuck Nixon! I'm glad I wasn't alive to vote for him! I wish a few politicians would grow a pair and legalize it. Do we really need to lose more money on the phony war on drugs, a war that more about a government trying to control what people do to themselves.

  • An amusing story.... I've been in IT since '81.... less so the past 4 years.... anyway...

I worked on "Wall St." i.e. in the area for over a dozen years, amongst many other places... One of my 1st jobs was with a really tiny consulting firm. One day we all go out in the evening to celebrate something in a Wall St. area bar. We get a private table in the main area, and a guy lights up a joint. So, we pass it around between the 6 of us, and NOBODY SAYS SHIT. LOL!!!! That was funny as hell.

  • Absolutely;y right. The War on Drugs did start with Nixon.

Some of you will remember Nancy's: "Just say no!" mantra.

    LEGALIZE >>>>ALL<<<< DRUGS!!!

Let people do as they please, including see a docrot, if they choose to be advised on taking a drug, but NOT as a requirement. Everything should be legal and available on demand.

BTW. IN MEXICO, PERU, AND OTHER MANY SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRIES, YOU CAN ORDER DRUGS FROM A PHARMACY, OR GO TO THE PHARMACY AND ORDER WHATEVER YOU WANT. E.G. PREDNOSONE..

  • I'm floating sky high

  • i want some(:

  • I don't get this, When can I walk down my damn street smoking out of my bowl while not giving a damn? When does this all set into legalization.

  • Legalize all drugs. It'll kill murderous gang cartels, and rest assured, just because something as detrimental to health as cocaine becomes legal, doesn't mean everyone's gonna try it.

If people are at the stage where they try cocaine, and are addicted, it doesn't matter if they purchase it legally, or illegally any more. The way I see it, sell it legally, tax the hell out of it, and use the money for rehab programs instead of prison.

  • His ';enemy' was the anti-Vietnam War protest. That War is long over, yet the Bureaucracy Nixon created continues the insane, totally useless War against the American, and world, civilian population. The reason is obvious, the authorities prefer to spend tax dollars on thugs with guns, rather than on Doctors.

Those authorities are actually war criminals, by their own definition.

  • politician wont legalise because it will harm there political career! selfish and promotes murder of civillians because of fear of losing an election. Obviously they dont care about human beings.

  • legalize freedom !

  • Why the fuck were drugs made illegal in the first place?

  • @littledude4eva epic agreed

  • Legalize it! Ron Paul 2012!

  • My life, is to Serve and Protect: i give my energies to keep people healthy, i will just say, that recreational drugs, and serious drugs, all corrupt the body. Some pure drugs "like heroin" people can live as users for 25 years or more" With the USA having no universal health care, there is "NO" chance of curbing the drug use problem. My cousin was killed being a COP, and i was shot at several times. Look after yourselves people , this is serious stuff.

  • The so called 'war on drugs' has never been about drugs, it has always been just a pretext for US attrocities in neighbouring South Americas to support regime change in favour of US corporations.

  • As Chris rock comically put it: "The government is like this, they don't want you to use your drugs, they want you to use their drugs" :)

  • The law is not tough enough in America. Anyone who have been found with any amount of drugs should be charged with two years and a 60 years of probation.

  • @mercedescl hahha. riiiiiiiiiiight..

  • What's wrong with this country? The White House said that we're WINNING the war? This is disgusting & I can't believe people don't stand up. This isn't some hippie protest: the facts are stated in this video. I don't think they'd declare us as winning if they were forced to live in Mexico. Alcohol is a deadly drug yet it's socially accepted. The population is too brainwashed & drunk to demand change. It's all about money, fear, & power. Look at Zemafira25s comment! Do they care about that? No :(

  • @shanepaulcoward seller? I would say buyer

  • We aren't "losing" the war on drugs, the war on drugs was lost a long time ago and it's time the folks in Washington realize this

  • Who needs Mexico's marijuana we will have our own.No more killing of people to get it across. it's all compressed and mostly brown by the time it gets up to the northern parts of the U.S. Will be no more tons of it being brought across the boarder unless our government or companies start using it again to make products "again".Everyone knows there are enough people now for a hemp clothing market and it's other uses.Cartels don't want to grow it they need the farmers too.everyone making money.

  • USA the biggest consumer how sad

  • Thank you Al-Jazeera for being the only serious mainstream news channel out there.

  • The way I see, as a species (and maybe this is the way the Universe works) we have to keep finding as many different ways as we can to keep destroying ourselves in any possible way, and killing as many people as possible. Then, only when all the hope is lost, when we can no longer find any other way to destroy ourselves we can move forward after we learned our lessons and paved our way with our own blood. it could be easier, but humans do not want that, they don't understand it.

  • Follow Portugals lead. They have the lowest almost nonexistent black market. They have pretty much legalized all drugs. No incarceration, only treatment. Use went down among the youth, stayed the same with the elders, but none have increased. Drug related crime is at its all time low levels. It no longer has the seductive forbidden fruit stigma, so it is simply a matter of choice and doesnt seem that cool anymore.

  • admit it you Americans really love drugs thats why you want to legalize them if drugs were legal their would be even a greater profit for cartels since people that did not try drugs because it was illegal would buy drugs. Plus their is also benefits for the United States why? because you are all happy with the drugs plus make deals with cartels to rob Mexican oil and get it for the U.S.

  • Comment removed

  • @Emperor470 No offense but youre an idiot

  • @Emperor470 Why on earth would you think cartels would still control drug sales if made legal? Do you buy your beer from Al Capone still? You are an idiot.

  • @Atheistprimate Yes I do and can't you have a civilized conversation

  • @Emperor470 You start your brainless rant with "admit it you Americans really love drugs" and yet you expect to offend 300+ million Americans with such a idiotic statement but for them respond to you in a civilized manner?

How about ill say "admit it Mexicans you love crime and murder" but i expect you to only be gracious and respectful in your responses to me calling your crime loving murderers? Even you should understand you cant get a dick and not have people return the favor.

  • @Emperor470: If drugs were legal we could grow them ourselves. We would not need to import them and thus the cartels would be starved of money. Our government created these cartels when they made drugs illegal because they ensured that we would need to get these drugs from foreign sources. Our money is the fuel for your drug cartels, and that money would dry up fast if drugs were legal.

  • The criminal culture that surrounds drugs would also recede if drugs were legal, as they should be. Take a look at prohibition in the US. When alcohol was made illegal, we had the same gangs, shootings, and criminal element surrounding alcohol. When alcohol was legalized again, all of that disappeared.

  • check noam chomsky's "an american addiction"

  • Hundreds of thousands of well armed cops, soldiers, DEA, FBI, CIA, Coast Guard, Navy etc etc etc against a bunch of hippies who don't even like to fight. Guess who do you think wins?

  • We should legalize all drugs or at least decriminalize. The war on drugs isn't working and was never meant to. Drug users need medical advice and treatment not prison time.

  • The war on drugs is a war on people, people that just want to have fun

If a drug user commits a crime, make him accountable for their actions like it would be done with any other person

If a drug user is overdosing, just take it to a hospital treat him & charge him like it would be done with a reckless driver, or like the many people that practice martial arts and end up with broken bones

    STOP THE HYPOCRISY

  • @14Tamayo: I agree completely - and if you delve into the overdose line of thought more, I think that there would be less overdosing if drugs were legalized. The reason is simple - when you take an illegal drug, you don't necessarily know how much of the drug you're getting. The quality and quantity of the drug can vary, especially if you're buying from a dubious source. If drugs were legalized, you would know what you were getting as the dose would be measured.

  • @14Tamayo: There would also be more in depth studies done on drugs, to more accurately define safe levels of the drug.

  • Keep it illegal, whodie. Mang, you know how much hoe-in' is gonna go down if ya'll legalize drugs?

  • Weed is one drug that should be legalised, the Media demonises weed and its users - this creates a negative as it is illegal the money charged and made from it is higher therfore more people would want to grow and sell the stuff

because lets face it it is easier to make vast amounts of money that way than working your ass off (generally, speaking)

  • Legalize Drugs NOW!

  • Please leave people alone until they hurt someone else. What a good Government would do is not make is so hard to be heard and make it much harder to be arrested.

  • bwahahaha

  • The war on drugs is just a utopia, an overacting from occidental countries to pretend in front of the rest of the world what they really are not. Drugs are big business for governments, especially in USA "the biggest drug country in the world" who have perfectly structured a system that moves billions of dollars annually. GOV, CIA, DEA, FBI, Deparment of Justice, private prisons "the country with more prisoners in the world", etc., is a vicious circle very well thought out. War on Drugs? WTF!

  • if i am not free to use drugs then i am not free

  • @CtrlAltDltYou

    stfu bitch ur under arrest

  • @thedetective22 ur a muppet, go fuck urself...n haveaniceday :)

  • Losing? They have lost this war long ago! The main reason was that they lied from the beginning. It is hard to convince anyone of anything if you constantly, and obviously, lie!

  • May Nixon rot in hell.

  • @dragon8me2 yeah, and there is a very good chance that Reagan is there too .

  • like former mexican president Porfirio Diaz said...."Pobre México, tan lejos de Dios y tan cerca de los Estados Unidos." ...."Poor Mexico, so far from God and so close to the United States". As long and USA doesn't want to, our puppet president Calderón won't dare to change anything on drug related policies. The clown even came on tv today inviting university students to join the police! 34,000 dead in only 4 years, butchered and thrown into holes with hundred other bodies. Need for change? nah

  • 1 trillion, no wonder they wont change it

  • Its the corrupt officials that allow this problem to progress, not politicians more law enforces.

  • the US govt makes the most money from prohibition! from CIA drug running, to private prisons.

  • If the drugs are legal then we won't be able to lock up all the losers, and they'll be out causing all kinds of mischief, like voting for socialists.

  • @eBe4IXcept lololol

  • @eBe4IXcept dumb and very expensive reason to keep people locked up for drug use, especially since it is not a violent crime and more of a public health problem. Socialism is paying $50K plus per year per inmate locked away in prisons. Guess who pays that. If these people are treated, cleaned up and eventually even work at McDonald's it will be a hell of a lot more beneficial to everyone than having them locked up for 10 to 20 years for possessing 5 to 10mg of crack. That's retarded.

  • @Mxyzptlk562 Forget not, also, the losers on the outside who now identify with libertarianism. When their drugs are legal, they will begin to realize that socialism addresses their needs more directly, and good-bye to the Drs. Paul! No, if we are to protect our wealth from being re-distributed to the losers, we must keep their drugs available, but illegal.

  • @eBe4IXcept You deserve to be shot in the face.

  • @eBe4IXcept keeping drugs illegal is pro-crime. You are only supporting people who are enriching themselves on the trade: the big-time growers, the kingpins, the traders, the corrupt multinational public officials who get paid to look the other way, the street level dealers & gangs, private contractors who make billions to sell govt. on anti-drug technology & training, the prison industry, bloated police depts that spend way too much time busting low-level dealers & users...it's all insanity.

  • Legalize, control, and sell by federal and local governments. If alcohol is legal, then marijuana should be legal it does not kill like alcohol. Ive see why to many people be killed and hurt fighting this war with a 50s way of thinking, there must be money lost of money in fighting it that way then.

  • Alcohol...enough said

  • And by the way, look at who declared the war on drugs: Nixon....Wow

  • the only reason why there are so many murders and other so-called bad things is because it is illegal! Alcohol and tobacco and pharmaceuticals kill more people than so-called drugs and so-called terrorism combined! The prison industry is getting very very wealthy from the war on drugs and thousands of families destroyed by it. It's not the drugs that's the problem, it's the laws!

  • I lost an uncle last summer to this sorry excuse for a drug war

  • lol they will never learn. These conservative idiots will never legalize drugs. Legalize it and tax it. More people will buy legally and these cartels will automatically be out of business once their profits sink. Grow our own marijuana and sell it legally. This is the ONLY way to stop the drug war. The cartels will self-destruct and so will the street gangs and dealers. Come on idiots, people will do it no matter what. Why not make money on it and reduce violence? Nope, your "god" wont allow.

  • some people like to drink a glass of wine or scotch after work but me I like a nice joint to relax...alcohol kills more people than anything enough said

  • @DirtyA13 Many people are dropping off from heroine more and more each day and it's picking up faster and faster... most of these people are only in their early 20's as well. I'm not sure if the death rate is faster than alcohol but put those two drugs aside and the fact remains that nobody has ever overdosed on marijuana and that's a fact. BTW: If you run across a strain called "Train Wreck" BUY IT! lol It lives up to it's name!

    Take care

  • @havoctrend I know all about that Train Wreck and Headband LOL its dat funk

  • @DirtyA13 Watch for Skunkleberry! LOL

  • @DirtyA13 Wrong tobacco is the leading cause of deaths per year, where the hell did you get your information?

  • @SuperKvance ur re-tarted

  • @DirtyA13 Look it up bro, its all over the web. Shame a lot of people like this are ill educated.

  • @SuperKvance I knew that dumbass it was just a example

  • Prohibition is the problem, Legalization is the solution.

  • george bush senior is a dick

  • Legalize it! nuff said.

  • Humans cannot become its creators, So they become rulers of their own selfishness. But how is thought created ?from the illusions you see daily.

  • There is no such thing as WINNING or LOSING the War on Drugs, there is only CONTINUING or STOPPING the War on Drugs.

  • War on drugs has always been lost.

  • @s0beit Hey buddy white people are hooked on drugs just like all the rest of us....You obviously haven't been to the midwest where your country ass cousins just love meth.

  • @dreadhead703 I think you meant to reply to the other guy, i said what you said, only earlier. I know white people get addicted to drugs too, I don't know why you pointed this reply at me.

  • Get rid of the dirty niggers and Mexicans and the crime and drug rate drops 80%. But no libtards know everything!

  • @Liberalsuck100 You're retarded? White people do drugs as well, I'm not a "liberal" but i know a government failure when i see one. Conservatives should take note, we're supposed to be the guys against big government programs that destroy lives, not for them. No shit they leave mexico, our demand for drugs is killing people over there. Time to let the market work, just like it does with alcohol, or we'll have blood thirsty criminals no matter the color.

  • @s0beit Are you really so naive as to think that conservatives are against big government programs? Who do you think is responsible for the biggest deficit spending in the history of the US? Conservatives are against government spending money on anyone but themselves and their cronies. If they could they would give tax rebates to the top 1% of earners, cut out all state funded education and welfare and spend double spending on the military and pork barrel projects.

  • @colourmegone Oh i know REPUBLICANS aren't against big government programs, but I'm not a Republican. Conservatives, is not a word I'd use to describe Republicans. The war on drugs is a failure to any person of any ideology with any sense or no agenda.

  • @s0beit Let me lay it out, in case the last reply confused you, "Conservatives" are anti-war, anti-big government, anti-subsidy, anti-tax, anti-torture, anti-bailout, anti-TSA, anti-drug war and so on.

Republicans are neocons, which basically means about as conservative as Mussolini.

  • @Liberalsuck100

Please go crawl back to your hole.

You degenrate this argument into your racist garbage.

  • @kingmafi6699 Racist? Whats the matter, scared of the truth? You liberals are all the same. NO BALLS!

  • @Liberalsuck100

No you are a total douchebag that should stop hanging around neo nazi websites.

  • @kingmafi6699 I'm not a Nazi dick wad!

  • @Liberalsuck100

    Of course not.

You're just a silly inbred redneck.

  • @kingmafi6699 Yeah a redneck that has MORE Balls than you do. Typical city fag!

  • They make too much money and it gives them another excuse to treat everyone like criminals, slaves, prisoners, serfs.

  • Flash! Nugs for everyone! Big fat sticky nugs! Zap Out!

  • corporate government = terrorism

  • well it has all been said before, at least here it's being said by those with weight behind their words, rather than the repressed people who are largely ignored. Good to see the UN using it's clout to state the facts not acknowledged by the US govt.

  • The war on drugs is a cover up used to suppress the lower class domestically, and maintain a perpetual sphere of influence in Latin America.

  • Americans are liars, they grow it ,protect it and distribute it.

  • Just stop and jailed the CIA cartel.

  • Less Antony Wiener's wiener... more War On Drugs coverage.

  • Imagine how many people quit smoking from their own initiative, after years of heavy smoking, and believe me, it's on hell of an addiction.

Why not leave people quit drugs in their own?

Alcohol prohibition didn't work, it's silly to think that drug prohibition will.

  • Drug war is anti-human; It must stop

  • brave politicians? good one

  • O'bummer will keep it going, he is all about following Bush's footsteps

  • The war on drugs is not winnable but fundable & an entire industry of official racketeering that extracts funds from the tax payer into the privately owned MIC.

If you really want to tackle the problem of drugs investment into social initiatives ie: people & a change in stereotypical perceptions & the socio-political-economic environment is necessary.

Not to mention legalizing certain categories & taking the profit out of the "war on" factor.

  • They use drugs themselves and throw others who use it to jail, so unfair :(

  • they wont legalize, they make too much money on it

  • @SattvaNisha They wish. its losing governments money.

  • @SattvaNisha That's impossible, they are just dumb.

  • @SattvaNisha In the words of MC Chris "I hope they never legalize it, high times won't have anything to fight for."

  • @SattvaNisha how exacly do they make money on it?

    get off the welfare

  • @SattvaNisha: It's not about money, they already have all the money in the world. The reason they won't legalize is because the drug war gives the elite power over the people. The drug war is an excuse to bolster and militarize the police force to levels that would be completely unnecessary were there no drug war. It is the drug war that was behind 'no-knock' SWAT raids. It is the drug war combined with "terrorism" that leads the charge in privacy invasion - and gun control.

  • My cousin was just murdered yesterday by a drug cartel...this saddens me.

  • @Zemfira25 Sorry to hear that... But its kind of hard to stop El-Chapo now! Only way is if united states invades mexico!

  • @Zemfira25 Sorry to hear that.

  • @Zemfira25 Condolences to you.

  • legalize it
