The wild (?) is not an easy task to go through. I have been surviving for olmost 2 months the same way. One can prepared but never can be for the unexpected. I had malaria and got biten by other insects etc. I can imagine how this man must have feel al alone away from people city etc. If there would be something I want to do again, it's this! Who hasn't been in the woods? He's all alone, and he knows it will be 3 months before he gets back. I'm not saying no one would handle it better, I'm sure there are people in this world that would love every single second of a life alone in the wild. Born and raised in B.C we do this every summer, usually only for 2 weeks at a time though. Whiskey, coffee, herb, bug spray and as much good food like steaks, potatoes, eggs and oil for fish frys makes it epic but hard to haul. Music and a deck of cards for night time entertainment is a must, the daylight hours are spent 90% fishing and 10% hiking. Life in beautiful British Columbia is were its at.
I would also like to add:ed I commend you you are brave.when i live up in Oreagon my biggest fear way Lonlyness.hunger was anothere big challange.people dont reailize every day is spent hunting for food.when you have the shakes for lack of food your mind starts playing games on you, you see things that are not real.I mean there where elk and deer all around me but I hate to kill more than I can eat.One white tail deer would feed me for sometime YES but a lot would go to waste
With respects to Ed Wardle, but you might want to chek out Lars Monsens videos first if you don't fancy a lot of crying and complaining. Monsen is a legend (solo across northern Canada, Alaska etc.). The most recent of Monsen is one whole year in the Wild in Lapland mostly alone with his dog. Clearly worth watching. There are subbed videos of his show here on youtube.
I'd like to see the critics here attempt a 3 month journey through wilderness themselves. Many seem to complain about how this man breaks down emotionally, but I'd be really surprised if you'd be alone for 3 months, faced with gruelling tasks and constant setbacks, and didn't.
It's easy talking from your comfy chair behind your laptop typing on Youtube, but out there.. it's a different story. Great respect to this man for going back to basic, I'm sure it's been an enrichment to his life.

Ok this guy did the Everest twice, this is amazing. But, the boreal forest is clearly not his playground. I just watched all the episodes and cant believe someone doing this with such minimal knowledge. I would need an axe/tomahawk, few knives for different tasks, fero rod or two just to be safe, 2 liter desert canteen made of metal of course, 10 and 20 lb fishing line spiderwire prefferably, minnow and bass hooks so a size 10 and 4, paracord and bank line..... luxery items razors, hammock, tarp, blankets, a lever action .22LR rifle with plenty of HP rounds....I think that would do it for me... oh a backpack to carry everything, gotta have the pack.

The wild (?) is not an easy task to go through. I have been surviving for olmost 2 months the same way. One can prepared but never can be for the unexpected. I had malaria and got biten by other insects etc. I can imagine how this man must have feel al alone away from people city etc. If there would be something I want to do again, it's this! And I wont come back ever again too. I am making plans for it now and will go away soon again, alone, into the wild, just being me and natural.

Born and raised in B.C we do this every summer, usually only for 2 weeks at a time though. Whiskey, coffee, herb, bug spray and as much good food like steaks, potatoes, eggs and oil for fish frys makes it epic but hard to haul. Music and a deck of cards for night time entertainment is a must, the daylight hours are spent 90% fishing and 10% hiking. Life in beautiful British Columbia is were its at.

With respects to Ed Wardle, but you might want to chek out Lars Monsens videos first if you don't fancy a lot of crying and complaining. Monsen is a legend (solo across northern Canada, Alaska etc.). The most recent of Monsen is one whole year in the Wild in Lapland mostly alone with his dog. Clearly worth watching. There are subbed videos of his show here on youtube.

I'd like to see the critics here attempt a 3 month journey through wilderness themselves. Many seem to complain about how this man breaks down emotionally, but I'd be really surprised if you'd be alone for 3 months, faced with gruelling tasks and constant setbacks, and didn't.
It's easy talking from your comfy chair behind your laptop typing on Youtube, but out there.. it's a different story. Great respect to this man for going back to basic, I'm sure it's been an enrichment to his life.

This guy is an emotional trainwreck. The show is depressing. He should have brought only 1 bullet.
When he's not starved, he's terrified or crying. Any romantic idea that he might be able to sustain an existence is quickly abandoned.
He is absolutely terrified that he's going to be killed by bears. This terror stays with him throughout the show despite the fact that he only ever catches a glimpse of one bear, at a distance, and it's running away from him. The rest of the show he is crying.

Ok this guy did the Everest twice, this is amazing. But, the boreal forest is clearly not his playground. I just watched all the episodes and cant believe someone doing this with such minimal knowledge. On the other hand he says he only has ''the minimal survival equipment'' (hammock, firearms, lot of clothing, AN ELECTRIC FENCE !!!, etc.) Yeah ... Look at Dick Proenneke, Nicolas Vanier, Les Stroud,etc are true northern boreal forest adventurer/survivor, not this guy. Still he managed to survive

This guy really had a rough time of it - I watched this when it came out. Sometimes things go your way, and sometimes they don't. Give him credit for given it a go, but the wilderness definitely showed him whos boss.
