  • Baby sitter of Gerry Goffin and Carole King done good!

  • That is so filthy---look at the silowettes in the background? They are simulating SEX!!! Come on baby, Do the LOCOMOTION with me!!! LOCOMOTION? Ommmm, I''m telling Mom!!!

  • @daffodils077 No,Carol King played the piano, she also wrote it.Leon was involved according to the recent documentary on HBO.Elton John gives him credit, but Carol plus that amazing intro!!!She plays the intro on One Fine Day.

  • amazing enough little Eva quit singing the hit songs , returned to North Carolina to her original home town and finished out her singing career in church . She passed away several years ago .... She was very very talented

  • She sings Live! That's extremely rare in the 60's.

  • @beamerZ We toured with Little Eva and my band did the back-up music and she always sang live. She sounded as good live as she did in the studio. R.I.P. Sweet one

  • Did Leon Russell do the piano backing for this? Sounds like his style:) Long live King Leon!!!)

  • Makes you want to dance again!

  • Man, for a chick that didnt take a step in any direction, Little Eva had some out-of-sight moves. I wish she couldve taught me to move like that....

    2-7-12

  • That's a pretty sexual dance for the 1960s! Haha!

  • Wow, these black singers and musicians from back then were so awesome.

  • @RainPoetry actually the song was written by whites. Carol king and her husband

  • NO lipsinking here! She's so dam cute!!!

  • Locomotion went #1 by 3 different singers.

    Little Eva

    Grand Funk Railroad

    Kylie Minogue

Although it says on the Wiki that Kylie's went to #3, but I remember differently.

  • thaaaat is music :)

  • Let me re-spell 'great'. No second 'g'. Sorry about that,

  • Both this and Kylie's vesion is/are greagt. They were produced for their time. Little Eva topped the Billboard chart in 1962, Kylie reached number 3 on Billboard in 1988.

  • my mum had this on LP and we used to dance around the lounge to it ....:)

  • Sorry Kyle...this is better...!!!

  • hey! in the back, that's where Beyonce got the single ladies dance from! haha

  • @deegeeify Of course, many of them copy a lot. The kids don't know, being born way after this.

  • The middle girl backup singer is the great Darlene Love

  • i love you Eva .!

  • BEAUTIFUL EVA THE BEST!! rebel68

  • One of the greatest back beats ever recorded. That lazy, steady and surging bassline is killer.

  • cute

  • my cat hates this song... so i play it the most i can!

  • Get down!!!

  • Jerry Goffin & Carole Kings babysitter

  • The REAL LITTLE EVA.. I know the other one is Eve. Just sayin

  • She is absolutely awesome. Her treatment in later life was appalling. There was no respect for black singers in those days from those low life white record executives. They got very rich at the expense of those with the talent. Rot in hell.

  • @bilby53 Sorry but I can tell you black women made some of the most awesome music and still do! Gotta love those ladies!

  • I love old school music. I am 29 and i grew up with my mom playing this music. :)

  • GAVE IT A CHANCE AND LOVED ITTTTTTTTT :DDDDDD

  • It's my understanding that this poor woman only received 50 dollars for her work on this song. If this is true I hope that all the people involve make it to level 12 in HELL when it's their time to go.

  • @blueticecho Although the prevailing rumor in the 1970s was that she had received only $50 for "The Loco-Motion," it seems $50 was actually her weekly salary at the time she made her records (an increase of $15 from what Goffin and King had been paying her as nanny). Penniless, she moved her three young children to South Carolina, where they lived in obscurity on menial jobs and welfare.[4]--Wikipedia She died in April 2003.

  • @blueticecho black women were great singers what happened to them becoming sex objects now in crap hippop

  • That's Leon Russell on piano.

  • three people dont know how to do the locomotion

  • wow i thought the grand funk railroad recording was the original shame on me

  • little eva v kyle minogue singing locomotion little eva by a mile

  • So fabulous!!!!

    Bring those days back please.

    Thanks for posting.

  • hahaaaa omg ol skool dancin lol

  • Yah everyone, do the locomotion....

  • One of the best songs ever recorded.

  • LOVE the silhouettes in the background

  • Am i the only one with a twisted mind or she is calling for ....

  • I saw her in person a few years ago she is big Eva now hahaha but still the same sweet one !

  • @hotrodtrucker88 she died in 2003

  • My God! I think she is shorter than Lulu. Great song.

  • Carole Kings babysitter yeah!!

  • @Mellymoo1 The rest is history.

  • GREAT SOUND -EVA YOUR ONE OF THE BEST

  • ummm anyone else think beyonce stole some moves for the single ladies video?? lol

  • My names Eva. :S

  • only a partial performance..booooo

  • Almost all the "dance" songs; frug, twist, wahtsi, the swim, the stomp etc. etc. came from the early sixties. There were so many of them. Some had a specific song attached to them, but not all.

  • @jab3785 Don't forget the jerk and the funky chicken y'all

  • LA NEGRI VÀ.......HOT HOT HOTTTTTTTTTTT.......YES I LOVE THIS SWETER!!!!! NEGRI

    NEGRI

    NEGRI NEGRI...........

  • LA NEGRI VÀ.......

  • That 60's look was so hot !!!

  • I've always loved this song. Nice to see the video. Beautiful lead singer.

  • after kylie monogues version hit ,renewed interest was brought to little eva who was able to do the oldies circuit and cabaret before she died. so this has a happy end i'm glad to report.

  • damn she was thick

  • looks like this was broadcast like in the 50's or something

  • @bluemouse97 Would you believe in the early 60's..Remember it well...I'm old school.

  • @sportsaddict1942 me too

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!! :D I always think about it when Im riding on a Locomotive Train. =)

  • Great song...but Eva is not a performer.

  • Thats My Grandmother;;I Miss Her Dearly.*=)

  • she can't sing

  • @AtlasBebekTV Oh Yes she can! She had a beautiful voice!

  • @AtlasBebekTV My Grandmother Can Sinqq.*

  • some people find me weired bc i'm only 13 and i listen to music like this but i love it i mean how can u not like these classic's?? there just brilliant i listen to so much of this music and then i listen to the crap we have today and i prefer this so much it's just amazing!

  • Believe I remember this performance?

  • @murrsaat , the story i heard , from Carol King, white person, was she wrote this and gave it to her baby sitter , Little Eva , to sing. sorry , just the facts

  • @mrjonz

Yes, Carole King and Gerry Goffin wrote it, and paid Little Eva $50/week to tour it. She died poor and in obscurity. It's a really sad story actually.

  • i dont think i realized this song was made by an african american....or am i thinking of a version that was made in the 80s

  • @melani411 As with most of the good songs sang by beautiful blondes, this one too, was written and performed by blacks (Carle King and Little Eva).

  • @melani411 This song's been covered a lot; you maybe be thinking of that version. (The song was written by Carole King; Little Eva was the first person to record it). Interestingly enough, this song made it into the American Top 5 3 times; in 1962 (by Little Eva), 1974 (by Grand Funk Railroad) and 1988 (by Kylie Minogue).

  • @troodon9999 I love gfr's cover of this song

  • Song written by Carol King.

  • best one. try Lipps Inc - Funky Town (1980) also :-))

  • omg awesome

  • Thumbs up if your here for FIRST.

  • Beyonce STOLE the single ladies dance from this video.

  • @marcdaddy33 LOL!!! You called it!!! I didn't even notice til you said something.

  • That style was present in films back in the 1920's and 30's.

  • @drummer78 This is a truly beautiful song from an underated singer Like Eva here. Everyone thinks that Kylie Minogue first sang this, There just isn't another performance out there :-(

  • @DowntheEastEnd Don't forget Grand Funk Railroad. :D

  • @LSChristie I mean another performance from Eva this singer... She sung on American bandstand but cant find anything

  • Je suis certain que la gestuelle des choristes serait très mal interprétée de nos jours... à l'époque on ne voyait semble-t-il pas si loin.

  • I like this live version of the song better than her original recorded song-- this one sounds more upbeat and it's a tad faster paced-- I just wish they performed the whole song! Either way, it's an awesome tune =D

  • @bikefool Carol King did the original recording. This is what the great radio personality Dan Ingram of the great 77 WABC said.

Little Eva did the demo, but for whatever reason, they didn't get the "right sound" for the recording take.

Carol King was involved in the production, and then ended up cutting the original version of this song.

After listening to this many times. I am still wondering if what Dan Ingram said was true.

Other sources just say that Carol King sang backup.

  • @bikefool I cant find the original recorded song here on youtube :(

  • @Tafkadasohlol I'm looking right at it on the right. By gamanxd.

  • Wow, only 20 thumbs up for this tune is an embarassment to all of Us old people that loved pop music. Little Eva was a real sweet Girl with a cute voice. Me and My first wife used to do all the Dances of that entire era. 1960 to 1970 were the best days of My life.

  • awe...sitting in the chair with my sister listening to the tune in the childhood days...lovely.....

  • if memory serves me correct wasn't this a hit single in 1962? and wasn't she 16? and Carole King-lerry goffin's child's babysitter?

  • Compared to the all the music shows that we see on TV this performance looks very unprofessional. But therein lies the charm of this special presentation.

  • @AfricanLionsHunter fuck what you think is professional. She had fun and so did the audience CTFO and watch the D* sho!@@

  • Looks and sounds very good.

This performance is from several years after this song was a huge hit.

  • @hebneh damn wish I read your comment first before I posted coz I answered your questio! so if you read the other one first, just disregard it!
