Saw Jon Cleary & AMG last night at the Vanguard in Newtown, just awesome, so good I'm going to try and catch them again at the end of March when they return to Sydney.
yeah that's him, they were all in one studio, performing bits and pieces, and some songs for the documentarial movie series, "the blues". this is a cut from the 6th episode (the best in my opininon) "red, white and blues"
He sounds in time to me - it's kind of a New Orleans pushme-pullyou type groove like the late Professor Longhair. Never had a chance to see him live. Great stuff.
i don't think thats a cigarette....

Lol he plays like that, looking half asleep, with a cigarette hanging out the side of his mouth, as if it's nothing.

This is incredible, the polyrhythms after the first cycle of chords are insane, even if he does lose timing slightly, this guy is a genius.
Is that Tom Jones looking over his shoulder?

Old Tom Jones looks like he is trying not to FREAK! HA HA.
Yeah, he's on time. He's just got so many polyrhythms in it. It's really well done.

Reminds me of a workshop I went to in Erskinville, Sydney with Jon and band about 10 years ago :D
