  • @250xundertaker I hear it's a lot harder in mass than up here. check with some of the local hot rodders and they should be able to help ya figure out what you have to do.

some neighbors have annoying dogs that bark at anything some neighbors are ready to call the township when you start a project regardless everyone has a way to greet each other and show their personality You rpeek greet your neighbors ridding around in a cool rat rod

    can we trade?

  • @Kalkas53 Trade neighbors or trade cars?

  • @rpeek i would do it in a heart beat

actually I want to start a rat rod project and there's a few things stopping me one is money I(naturally) and the second is the choice between a truck rat rod or one like yours I'd do my own special mods. but the one thing about yours that bugs me is the lack of a roof so I figure that if i do go with yours I make a detachable roof for it like my jeep wrangler's but that project is a long way off

or if I could get a hudson hornet I go with that

  • @Kalkas53 Yea, not havin' a roof is a disadvantage, but I still like it without a roof too.. Next one I build will have a roof, then I'll have one of each..

  • what year is it I think it might be a 1929

  • @Kalkas53 1933 Chevy frame, 1948 Ford firetruck body chopped and channeled, lots of other old parts..

  • Are you retarded?.....I mean is the engine running retarded????

Timing? Whats that shiny thing on top of your carb? No chrome on a rat rod (I think your choking your girl....

  • @lyon406 The shiny thing on top of the carb is a Packard hubcap. Still don't have the vacuum advance working. It's a process..

  • @lyon406 Oh, and yes I'm retarded.. hahaha.

  • Ha...I love this...I have a rat rod VW trike I took out in the snow...talk about fun

  • great job!!..one thing I noticed is how low it is...keep in mind your scrub line...if you get a flat will anything drag on the ground?..I wish mine was as far done as yours...keep the faith brother...

  • I got stuff draggin' on the ground when I don't have a flat.. hahaha

  • As Almays Mr. Peek, Great Job!!!

  • very cool ride:)

how much time do you have build this car???

  • I started workin' on it seriously in December last year, had it runnin' by Christmas day, and drove it out of the shop by mid summer. Still workin' on it to get it inspectable and all..

  • i love it

  • Wow!!! you read my mind. I was just driving across country and sometimes it was 2 degrees and I was thinking while driving, rpeek oughta make a video driving the rat rod in the snow, and here it is, Thanks. Now if we can just get 1963impala2dr to do the same thing where he lives in the snow, even if its driving the hoopty. Some of us don't get much snow so its great to see. However, we did have our first white Christmas here in DFW since 1926. 3"s in 4hrs and it was 70*F 2days before.

  • Well.. when you get snow in a place like Texas, it's a really big deal.. Good for ya.. hahaha

  • @rpeek yeah and think about it, our last white Christmas here in DFW was in 1926, your rat rod was probably a new car then or too new to drive in the snow, LOL

  • Yea, it was just a dream in the eye of come car designer.. hahahaha

  • @rpeek I go into wrecking yards and look at old beat up Lincolns or Caddy's and think about the day when they were new and the folks first drove them home and showed them off, and the same for your old rat rod. Wouldn't the original owners be amazed to know its still being used, if they were alive. I met the man who drove my 49 2ton chevy when it was new and he flipped to know it was still earning money and working.

  • Yea, that's awesome.. I still want to find a photo of this thing when it was a fire truck. I'm sure some historical society some where has one...

  • @rpeek I didn't know it was a firetruck, interesting....what year is it? what kind? and do you know where it was in service? My 1949 2 ton chevy was a cab and chasis used to pull a 1947 Heil tandom axle trailer and it hauled motel ice machines all over the country when it was new. It had a NJ map , a Sanfrancisco bay map, and a colorado map under the front seat, all from the 50's with various routes marked on them.

  • Chelsea Fire dept, no 1. We've got a Chkelsea Maine nearby, and a Chelsea Mass a ways down the road. I need to try and call the fire chief down there again and see if I can find anyone who knows if this was their fire truck. It was a '47 Ford ..

  • Just got off the phone with the retired fire Chief from Chelsea Maine. Said they had a '47 Chevy, but he doesn't remember a '47 Ford. He's going to check around in some old photos and try and find out if there was one before his time..

  • Man! someday I just HAVE to go for a ride in that baby

  • Yep. Gotta happen.. I'll let ya drive, if you can fit your legs in it. The seats don't adjust. If you're too tall, it might be a challenge.. haha

  • where do you live? your neighborhood is beautiful

  • Maine.. It is beautiful, if the winters don't get ya.. hahaha

  • TOO COOL!!!

  • your right good clean famely enterteinment and fun yeeehaw and happy new year

  • Looks like some of the steering components were too low to ground... in 1:49... don't know if that's something to be concerned about..

  • yea, I've been concerned a bout it. That's the lowest point on the car. Otherwise, I'd have it sittin' even lower than it already is.. hahaha..

  • Next time someone says lets play in the snow, thats what i wanna do.

  • dude, that is coolll

  • haha thats my favorite thing to do in the winter......

Sue was cold and windy today.!!!!

  • I wish we had snow in Las Vegas.

  • FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  • Now that's what hot rods are for!

  • nice ride my friend

  • Isn't having that much good clean fun illegal? Someone somewhere must have made a law against it. :)) :() Yeah! Great stuff, RP!

  • Probably is.. hahaha

  • good to see you have your glasses on this time :)

I worry about this kind of stuff after the one time I chipped at some slag and a tiny piece about 10 feet wide went right into my eye. well, it felt like 10 feet. :P

Took like a week for it to work it's way out. trust me, that's the LAST time if there's a chance to get something in an eye on got the glasses or the safety sheild.

I've always learned the hard way ;)

  • Now That Was Sweet.... ;)

  • Nice video, looked like you were have a great time!! *****

  • cool ride

  • that idle at 1:40... cool!

  • Dude! That looks fun!!

I want one of those now.

  • lol

  • Rpeek, that was some great video shots of your rod in the snow, I appreciate the extra angles, the rambler looked good in the driveway.

  • Thanks! Nobody else home, so no one to hold the camera so I just had to set it up and spin around in front of it.. Aweful fun.

  • THATS A GOOD VID
