She never did this routine perfectly but I don't think we'll ever see another skater like this again. brilliant, exciting so much potential and then burn out.
Oksana actually skated this program cleanly and very well, i might add, at the 1995 Riders Ladies Skating Championship... where she beat Yuka Sato in the first phase.
I think its a lot easier to be expressive with your body when you aren't actually skating. She doesn't even stand up for the first minute and a half of the program, and returns frequently to the same spot in center ice to do more wiggling. I would find her mildly entertaining were she dancing on a pole at a bar, but if I paid tickets to see her skate to this I would feel like I got ripped off.
She brings a special ART to the "sport" of ice-skating. And I don't think it's as easy as you think to be expressive with your body. Not many people can actually just do it like her. It's mostly inherent. Not everyone can learn the ballet. She combines the rare gracefulness of a ballet dancer with the sport and speed of ice-skating on the ice, which is very unique.
She was my all-time favourit figure skater growing up and this was my all-time figure skating peformance by any skater ever! Thx so much for posting!!!! I never thought I would be able to see it again.
Actually, this is not the song called Arabian... This is from Peter Garbriel Last Temptation of Christ Soundtrack. The song is called Passion.. :)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
costume too overdone. it will make her look like an idiot if she falls and smashes her freaking head into the wall

Who cares about the jumps! Just LOOK at her!!
I love how she uses her arms. No other female skater can express herself through her body and ice skating like Oksana can.
