@thefruitofaliens The lyrics were written by a VERY young Bernie Taupin... who was still "starry-eyed" at the aspects of love. He said that he had not really experienced love yet when he wrote it. So "clumsy"?...maybe to you. But through the eyes of someone as young as himself at the time....genius, inspiring, and touching. You can feel the innocence of this song...

In the other video - the official Dutch promotional video - there's one homeless-looking guy who pops up in the background 3 or 4 times, and I've always thought he was just pretending to accidentally get into the picture so he could see himself on TV. You know, the same way you do every time you see a major motion picture being filmed on the streets of San Francisco. But now I see that the "homeless" guy was just staff, and it probably really was an accident!
