  • 0:42 cue is crazy

  • 1978-1980 at CBS Television City

    1981-1984 at Archie Comics Studios

    1984-1986 at Hanna-Barbera Studios

    all in Hollywood, CA

  • @32rodrick You're only right about the 1978-1980 part.

  • Operator35, thanx for posting these. I always loved this show as a kid. It was on from the time I was 10 until I was 18, and every so often, I could even answer some of the questions on the show, too. If I remember correctly, the station that aired TTD where I grew up (KMTC, channel 27, from Springfield, MO, then an ABC affiliate, now KSFX and a Fox affiliate) quit carrying it sometime around 1984 or so.

  • 0:08 - 0:40 reminds me of the theme of "The Scooby-Doo Show" theme from 1976!

  • That Black & White shot of Wink in the

studio, was that set used for the 1977 or

so Pilot of Tic Tac Dough? If so, I wonder

what the rest of it looked like in color?

What were the rules in the pilot, and did

they change by its premiere episode?

I hope someone can post the pilot of

Wink Martindel's Tic Tac Dough in its

entirely, if the master tape isn't destroyed.

  • Hal Hidey composed some cool Tic Tac Dough BGM as well as for other shows. Reminds me of the work of Hanna-Barbera studios composer Hoyt Curtain.

  • Should there be a new TTD, keep the Wink Martindale era open/close theme, the same think music for center square, and same win cues. And then...

-new car after 5 wins(Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour theme mostly, sometimes Big Banana, etc.).

-bonus round(TPIR cue associated with home furnishings, and maybe a car or boat tossed in... which you could hear in the beginning of the "Concentration Jack Narz part 3" clip.

-Get the dragon(loser TPIR horn after the dragon's roar).

  • The music at 3:12 and 5:20 would make great cues for those 3-second in-between-scene thingys from "That 70's Show," where the teens are dancing within that psychedeliokaleidoscopic background.

  • 3:12 & 5:20 reminds me of the music the old Roller Derby telecasts back in the day featuring the Los Angeles Thunderbirds!

  • I use to love watching this with my mom in trhe evening time I think it was. I was only 5 or 6 at the time, could not answer any of the questions, but I love the Dragon Game at the end.

  • Some of these sound like they could be used in those 80s H/B cartoon movies as a dance number.

  • Where the heck did you find all these themes? I remember some from the prize music, the interview theme, and when a contestant wins a game. But to quote some of the other viewers, there were songs exclusive to TTD that I never heard on TJW. Great job!!!

  • I do remember some occasions when some of this "TTD exclusive" music was thrown into TJW bonus round prize descriptions, albeit it only happened once in awhile.

  • Wink Martindale Is that Man. Remember Brian Donimond? The first $100,000 contestant on that show. Thats how much i loved this show.

  • I always loved this gameshow when I was growing up... the music seemed "happy" and it made me love trivia. :-)

  • man, I thought I was the only game show buff....love all the Barry and Enright game shows. Brings back a lot of childhood memories with my great grandma. Thanks!!

  • No, there are a lot of us "game show buffs" our there.

  • Hal Hidley was a genius. I'm surprised that he did not write any disco tunes from the prize cues in the latter part of the video.

  • You missed the center box think music

  • If I had it, I would have included it. Unfortunately, these cuts, as well as the main theme, are all that remain in Hal Hidey's collection of Tic Tac Dough music.

  • this is pretty cool...where did u get such clear cuts....i'm glad i'm not the only game show nut!!!

  • Ive always wanted the full version of the intro - interview music! Thanks

Did you have any other full cuts from other game shows?

  • Wonderful! I'm looking to find the clip tghat sounds like a "carousel theme." I can't get it out of my head! Do you know the one that I am looking for? Thanks!

  • VERY COOL MUSIC!!!

  • Sounds like porno music to me.

  • These sound like the cues that came from the last year or two of the show. I dont know what that guy is complaning about, so you missed a couple of prize cues, big deal, you could always do the rest later! But if you do a part two, you must include the car jingle when some wins five games, I would make that a ringtone if I could!!

  • The Winkster & Jim were snappy dressers thanks to Botany 500 in fact, Botany 500 has made any Game Show Host look snappy:

The Winker, Jim Caldwell, Bob Eubanks, Bob Barker, Jack Narz, Tom Kennedy, Alex Trebek, Bill Cullen, Jack Barry, Monty Hall, Jim Lange, Jim Peck, Jim Perry, Kevin O'Connell, Ron Ely, Dan Miller and famous actors like Dick York, Dick Sargeant, Telly Savales, Sherman Helmsley, Dick Van Dyke and of course Mr. Family Himself Richard Dawson and Quincy M.E. himself Jack Klugman.

  • And the Winkster is still a snappy dress to this day, even if it not Botany 500 threads. Just watch his "Las Vegas Gambit," "High Rollers," "Trivial Persuit," "Debt" (in the tux), and "Outrageous Game Show Moments" (in the turtleneck) gigs.

  • and here's another fact:

Wink Martindale is younger than William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Vaughn, David McCallum, Richard Dawson and Legendary DJ and Voice Actor Casey Kasem.

    Hard to believe isn't it?

  • You're missing some prize cues in here.

  • I didn't say it included all of them. If I had more, I would have included them.

  • I thougth thattic Tac Dough used the same music package as TJW.

  • In addition to using many of the same prize music cues as The Joker's Wild, Tic Tac Dough also had several prize music cues that were used only on TTD.

  • Every now and then, a TTD prize cue would play on TJW for the Face the Devil round. I remember two such occasions during the Jack Barry run.
