I might be wrong but it seems easy to hear that the musicians playing this are the same as for the "In the heat of the night" soundtrack. The same dark funky blues feel, mixed with the percussive elements and all the details Mr Joes know how to master and arrange so well.

At 03:17, I spotted a sample used by the british hip-hop group Katch 22. Can't remember the son name, but I'm pretty damn sure.
