  • the 2008-present Chevrolet Cruze is assembled in

Brazil: São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo

    China: Shenyang, Liaoning

    India: Halol, Gujarat

    Kazakhstan: Ust-Kamenogorsk

    Russia: Saint Petersburg

    South Korea: Bupyeong-gu, Incheon

    Thailand: Rayong

    United States: Lordstown, Ohio

  • Check out my review of my Chevy Cruze in the US.

    /watch?v=tIRJxUf2Y_o

  • Europeans love their volkswagons apparently.

  • The Cruze is a nice car, thats for sure.

This Chevy Cruze cost in Holland only lik 19000 euro's wich is cheap for a saloon but with the extra options wich were in my configuration that i made i got it to around 28000 euro's

For that money you can't buy saloons like the VW Passat, BMW 3 serie, Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class, Opel Insignia, Renault Laguna, Citroën C5 etc.

And im not saying these aren't good but thay cost much more then a great car like the Chevrolet Cruze wich looks like a great car

  • Lemonade used to be a pretty popular drink, and it still is.

  • Base model

  • Very useful, Thanks!

  • 42 miles per gallon

  • nice,I like the interior.

  • why doesnt chevy make diesels for the american market?

  • @3n82

Because Americans refuse to buy them - always have.

  • @camcoop25

The diesel engines used to be loud and a lot of them still are.

  • @ChummyChime

It's not so much that they are loud, but they make an unpleasant sound compared to a gas engine so they seem louder - especially the tickata-tickata at idle that makes them sound like an old bus. Mercedes, Audi etc. have been working on this idle sound for years now, trying to get something that sounds reasonably cool. Depending on your driving style and requirement though, they can be well worth the compromise. Great torque, excellent mileage and the turbos accelerate well.

  • @3n82 Well because Diesel in the US costs 20% more than Gasoline. Diesel Europe costs about 3% more than gasoline.

That overrides diesels 15% advantage in fuel economy in the US but not so in Europe.

  • @danie123182 Well if we take an example of a jetta in California, 14.5 gallon capacity @ 4.02/gallon = $58.29 , diesel @ $4.26/gallon = $ 61.77 Thats 5.97% more than gasoline, but there is a fuel efficiency factor. Gasoline range is average 50/50 city/freeway 370 miles. Diesel range is average 50/50 of 515 miles .Thats 39.2 % advantage of gasoline version for the cost of 5.67% more on the price. Plus the added fact that diesel engines have more torque, thats my two cent.

  • @3n82 Well I do understand what you are saying. Volkswagen's website says the engine is 20% more efficient. Which makes sense. Because a given measure of diesel actually contains 20% more oil than the same amount of gasoline. It has nothing to do with the engine technology and everything to do with diesel being more energy dense. But take a diesel without a turbo and it has approximately the same mpg as the gasoline version.

The Jetta tdi=42mpg highway. The same as the turbo gasoline Cruze

  • @danie123182 in danmark diesel is about 7% less expensiv than gasoline

  • cool car

  • why would the us version have a better warranty than the eu version? . . .

  • @BlackSkorpion1991 European bravado is so cute . . . I'll shift your big Italiano nob anyday, baby.>;)

  • @ActionBastard85 man i was just kidding ! ;P btw i can give you a pile of shit in a race with the same car with manual shift.... i've only driven manual shifted car... so trust me, you cant compete with me and any european driver...

  • @BlackSkorpion1991 Mmm tell me more you big roman stud . . . your givin' me a wet mark on my pants. ;)

  • The Cruze is a rebadged 2009 daewoo that has a crappy eco tech motor, dont be fooled.

  • chevrolet cruze ,impala, buick lacrosse, nasty, trash ,,,,,,,100%european 100%japon .............i love bmw ,mercedez benz lexus infiniti ............american nasty

  • Me personaly I love the chevy colbalt imapala Malibu but tge cruze blows the rest out of the way sure it no BMW or lexus but dam u gotta admit chevy did a good job if I wanted one car in the world that I would get for free of course I'll choose a lamborgini but since that's not gonna happen I think the cruze might be good enough for me oh btw I hate corollas parts in that car r ez to steal not fun if u guys own one lol suls to b u guys

  • For me, any car is better than no car at all. I don't mind having this if Conan O'Brien lets me win this.

  • This car is way better than a Kia Forte. Nuff said.

  • @AHMADF93 its not really a chevy or american made, the cruze is a daewoo lacetti rebadged for the USA, it has shit reviews in china and the ecotech motor it has for the turbo is very similar to the one on the aveo's 1.6L daewoo ecotech engine, worst car ever made.

  • @matrixloader my mom drives an Aveo. Thanks for the info though :)

  • @matrixloader GM has owned daewoo since 2001, so yeah they all share the same shit! Just like Isuzu's model of the Colorado/Canyon.

  • The all new Thai built Chevrolet CRUZE was launched today at snazzy media event at Central World in Bangkok today. The car looks cool, with 'euro looks' and comes in a 1,6 and a 1,8 petrol version plus a 2,0 turbo diesel.

"Enginered to Respond" is the slogan. Price: THB 729,000-1.149,000

Carsanook is looking forward to a testdrive.

    John K. Lindgren

  • The Cruze is a joke. Nuff said.

  • That red looks nice!

  • @jude109 Maybe that's how they say it in Europe. Just like we say "Jagwar" and they say "Jag-u-ah"

  • @jude109 if your in America then yes thats how you pronounce it, but in most other countries that i'm aware of (including here in Australia), its pronounced high-un-die

  • Wait until the 2012 Focus comes out

  • @mustangmikeca

That 2012 focus has ugly exterior design

  • @KatiushaVN4 the 2012 focus looks like a volvo.

  • corolla is way better,why...!!?? o_o

  • it's really good looking car from inside and out . the price is good comparing with Jetta and other European and Japanese cars . the gas mileage is good . i don't understand why people think that is toyota corolla is better than cruze ? the cruze is much luxurious , more options , 6 speed automatic , sporty look . and much more.

okay let's talk about the prices here in my country dealers:

Toyota corolla : $21.300 fully loaded

Chevrolet Cruze : $15.600 fully loaded

    good luck toyota's fans ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @28mohd

    WRONG!

    In canadian dollars

    Cruze- 24,780$ fully loaded

    Corolla- 22,550 fully loaded

yes the corolla has a four speed autobox but I would take one over the cruze any day because of their reliability. Yes yes, they have had a couple bad recalls but I still believe in their product. Anyhow, I still wouldn't buy one if I was looking for that size of car cause I would just go for the Mazda 3 which is alot sportier then any car it's class and has been the best selling car for 8 years.

  • @Mek4563 What would you need an automatic transmission for... hanging out at gay bars?!

  • cobalt is way better

    fuck that car

    even tho i am a g.m guy

  • @ginoSS87

the top cobal ss turbo rocked!!!

  • The back looks like a Kia, the front looks like a puzzle piece, and lets not forget this is a Daewood, brought to us by the company Americans bailed out only to turn around and make stuff in Canada\Mexico.

  • it has the same running gear and engines from the opel astra. GM just did the styling

  • Does it come with a free transmission/engine blowout as well?

  • Its a nice car. Hmm. Too bad it still cannot surpass Suzuki's Kizashi. My mother recently was buying a car and I showed her the Kizashi and she fell in love and bought it. I have been looking for a car that is better than the Kizashi she got. This Chevy Cruze compares but it lacks many features that are standard in the Suzuki. Like dual air-conditioning, All Wheel Drive, the highest safety score ever, 5 stars from all sides on all seats, plus much more like key-less button engine start. Nice try

  • @formalz Chevrolet cruze not safe? are you kiding me? it has 10 air bags. , And what you mean by "Dual air conditioning" When you set temp you want , it shuts off and on automaticly to keep the temp right. this car is like 14.000$ . What more can you expect , i'm getting a Cruze , i want my family safe.

  • @gazzxr according to some reviews it has poor visibility and mediocre brakes - also the safety assist ESC wasn't very impressive. You're right though that it has one of the highest scores for adult occupancy - so when you crash at least you know you have minimized your chance of being turned into steak..!

  • @j101saar It has 4 breaking diks, And you can adjust the height of the seats .

And i belive it has ABS , and some other things.

  • @gazzxr glad you support good old America by buying a cruze

  • @1alwayswin :)

  • @1alwayswin you don't support America if buying this because it's a daewoo lacetti with a chevrolet badge.

  • @paulhojda sure you do

  • @paulhojda

    Daewoo = Chevrolet = GM = USA

  • @gazzxr 10 air bags? Sounds like it'll choke me!

  • @Ryoku75 Yea , 10 air bags. Most secure CHEAP car.

  • @gazzxr True, if I want a safe but cheap car I'll buy a Volvo 240.

  • @gazzxr I'm sorry man but, your price estimate is off by at least 3000 dollars and that's for the most basic version..... get one that's top of the line like the press have, and it's 10,000 dollars above 14,000...... definitely not a cheap ride....

  • @kelikelvin Prices in my country :

    Cruze Base 1.6 113 bhp = 11.000$

    Cruze LS 1.6 113 bhp = 12.311$

    Cruze LT 1.8 141 bhp = 15.058$

  • @gazzxr ooooo, what country do you live in, i saw the dollar sign and figured u lived in america.... sry

  • @kelikelvin yeah , i used $ , its Easy to see how much that is .

    If i tiped in 88.000 kn , you would be like :"???" 8kn = 1$

  • @kelikelvin Btw , im from croatia.

  • How much horsepower can the 1.6LT engine give?

  • @aqa722 1.6 petrol = 112 hp

  • At :25 seconds it looks exactly like the current BMW 5 series. The rear end looks like a Corolla. Can anyone say copycat?

  • @TheTallMan35 the back looks more like the new civic

  • We need an SS model quick. Faster then the Honda Si and handles better.

  • the cluchte is real hard on the manual!!!!

  • The front of the car looks like a Accord and the back looks like a BMW. LOL I checked the specs and the dimension of the this car. Here in North America on some internet review sites for some reason they are comparing it to the honda civic.

They should be comparing it to the honda accord. Oh well I guess it anyway you can boost this cars reputation is by comparing to a different class.

  • Why is that dude driving on the wrong side of the road?!

  • @gahen21 notice the UK in the username?

  • GM is top brand in my driveway.. no problems .. I work on cars for a living and i drive the cars with the least problems...

  • don't like the colour, you should try something more serious, like dark blue or silver.

  • Chevy step your game up. Love the MPG but there's no excuse for having such a weak car. Ford Focus will be getting around the same MPG, but will be more powerful. The interior is also cheap and boring.

  • @marabdl86 it doesn't look cheap, and peoeple carless about power if they are buying this car, they are more worried about liability and fuel efficiency

  • @heartboy86 Yeah people that will buy this car won't care about power, but the cobalt ss loving people won't bother picking up that trash.

  • @marabdl86 Buyers in this segment dont care about power.

They want reliability, MPG's safety and comfort.

The Cruze tops Toyota, Honda, Ford, Hyundai etc in all of these.

  • @Greendude33 I care about my cobalt ss. I care about power. I get 28 mph good enough for me.

  • @tornadostorm18 If you really care about power a 2.0 liter FWD compact shouldnt come to mind.

  • @Greendude33 Really???? Do some research on the ecotec engines. There are 1400hp 2.0 engines. Many 600 hp reliable builds. Cheaper than v8s

  • @tornadostorm18 No matter what badge it wears FWD and lots of power just doesnt mix.

  • @Greendude33 old school or what? fwd still is getting 6's in the 1/4. The only thing it can't do is drift. If your really racing you don't want to drift. Old school people think fwd can't handle it, but it can.

  • its baojun

  • GM has announced a new low cost chinese brand bung-ho or something like that

    a la mildred pierce situation

    chevy-A chinese brand,

GM-i took the best deal i could, so you and your sister brands could be redesigned and could get rubber on your wheels

chevy- weren't the daewoos enoughs, do u have to degrade us.

    GM-chevy don't say that

Chevy-I'm not surprised that u never spoke of your people or where the plateforms came from, which is why FIAT left u

    slap

GM- I'd rather sell off the brand

  • @austinman1995

It's in the UK, they are all right hand drive. I think all commonwealth countries are right hand drive..

  • ...the HELL???

This is what $49 billion of taxpayer bailout got us? More outsourced Gookmobile shit instead of actual American cars??

Never again. Never. Again. will there be a GM product residing in my garage.

  • @USAon3

This is the BRITISH VERSION.. the USA version is made in Lordstown OHIO. Where the Cobalt is/was being made. And the bailout had nothing to do with this car, it was in the making 2 years before the bailout. The US version will have different powertrain options. Base engine is 1.8L The upper model is a 1.4L Turbo. There wil be an ECO model 1.4L that will get 41MPG HWY. BEST in class. The 1.4L engine is made here. The castings are made in Defiance Ohio.

  • @kens97sto171 1.4 liter turbo? That sounds silly. Lets see what it has against any cobalt ss. I'm an American and I don't give a shit about mpg. I care about pure nasty speed.

  • @tornadostorm18

The point is u get good mileage with decent performance . Its supposed to get 41 MPG.

The car is built in Lordstown Ohio the same plant thatbuilt ur Cobalt.

Some day when ur older and have more responsibility u will care about every dollar u make and spend. Your cobalt gets decent mileage too. But not enought to meet the new federal standard that are coming. This car will replace the cobalt.

  • @kens97sto171 I do care about every dollar I spend. My cobalt ss is a lot cheaper on every level compared to my pontiac except the car payment. And your right the federal standards are the reason they changed it. That is why I am also mad at the government. 41 mpg is great, but they already have the aveo. Again 41 mpg is good too, but why get rid of the cobalt that was getting 36-37 wtf?

  • @tornadostorm18

The reason they are getting rid of the Cobalt is that it is a little to small for the catagory its competing in.. The Civic and Corolla, and Elantra are a little larger.

I deliver bulk material into the GM plant that is casting and machining the 1.4L engine for the Cruze and Volt. It's a really small block.. they chose cast iron for it to keep the block small in size but retain the strength it will need for turbo charging.

  • @tornadostorm18

There isn't a Cruze SS, why would you compare a standard model Cruze against a performance model Cobalt? The turbo isn't intended for performance in this case, it's intended to increase power while keeping fuel economy high. I'm sure we can expect a performance SS model soon enough.

Also, the Cruze is WAY nicer and better built than the Cobalt. Hands down. You'd have to be blind and numb to not know that, after having sat in one and driven one.

  • @derbydriver That is because the Cruze was not designed or built by G.M.. Opel designed and built this car for chevy..

  • @kharper39 Opel is a part of which company? GM. Yes.

  • @derbydriver 2 hp is not increasing power in any way that matters. Even if it is a way nicer build I have zero problems with my car now so why does that matter? Why get rid of a car that has sold millions and start from scratch? They shouldn't have replaced the cobalt so soon.

  • @USAon3 whats wrong with? it seems reliable and its good on gas, what more could you ask for.next car will definitely be a GM car.

  • @austinman1995 Because they drive on the left side in england ! And they got the wheel on the right side !

  • @austinman1995

it's a mirrored effect in the filming to make it look like it's all backwards.

Maybe if you realized outside of America, there's other countries and they actually drive on the left. England, Japan, Austraila, New Zealand etc etc etc

  • looks just like a new generation honda accord.. way to keep up the originality there GM

  • @Stsfan7 at least they're taking a step in the right direction.

  • The North American version will have sucking ass as a standard feather

  • deberian de meterle luces HID

  • on wiki it says this is the new reasonably priced car for top gear

  • @joshie9119 No, the new reasonably priced car for top gear is Kia Cee'd

  • i dont get why its a compact car. It has a boot sticking out oO

  • Developing this car has cost Chevrolet expenditure an average of $5million a day. Hundreds of prototypes have been tested to reach their goal. If you happen not to like Cruze, don’t blame its “shortcoming” that doesn’t favour you, think it as a sort of characteristic.

    visit derekchou for more info!

  • Chevrolet Cruze is a creation of a truly "unique" car, designed for efficiency without compromising performance. It's a driving experience, unlike any other compact car. And that's the " point " !

  • In my country chevrolet has 5 years unlimited miles ! Huge waranty. It's all down to how much they charge for servicing. They could have 10 years waranty if You would pay 30 000 for the servicing.

  • Headlight = 8th gen Honda Accord (2008-now) , Taillight = 8th gen Honda Civic (2006-now). interior center console= little bit of 7th gen Honda Accord

  • @athiam152 "Wait, so how do we compete against the NEXT-gen civic?", "Oh crap, Frank is right, we are taking parts of OLD cars and selling it as new" - GM 'designers'

  • Thats why I love GM the chevy cruze is my next car I want a RS or SS they look nice 2!!!!

  • @malibuss19 Yeah cool, there is no SS. Nothing cooler than being out gunned by soccer mom minivans that get the same gas mileage!

  • I'm not a Chevy fan but this car looks sweet, they should put a V6 option. Looks a compact sports sedan, like the BMW 3 series.

  • @rxvexe GM Holden has the Cruze as well if you dont like Chevy :)

  • Think ive just found my first car. just passed my test and think ill be getting the 1.6 S as its group 4 :))))

  • Hi Guys i bought a dvd player for my cruze from a website in the uk called cardvdplayerdirect great sales team stated 10-14 days delivery on my doorstep within 8 days & free UK MAPS!!! Chevy snooze my arse!!

  • The front reminds me of two cars.1 The Avoe and 2. It's kinda got a look of the maliub and the equinox mixed together.

  • Comment removed

  • Lindo auto espero y llegue pronto a latinoamerica para cambiar mi Optra Hatchback, o mejor si sale una versión hatchback del Cruze

  • i bought the 1.8 petrol lt which is the top of the range and it's fantastic we had the 98 onwards astra so 2 generation of astra ago and this is the closest thing to it same proformance bit bigger and very comfy, i looked at the 2 astras above the one i had and they are nothing like the cruze or the old astra BUY THE CRUZE 1.8 LT THAT IS LOL

  • this is just a mk6 astra...

  • Fera no WTCC

  • صراحة روووووووووووووووووووووووعة بس ياريتها سوداء

  • I think the Chevy Malibu should be sent to the European market as well, it would be a good decision for GM. It would be a great Mid-size competeter for the UK market in particular.

  • The Chevy Malibu although mid-size in the US it would come under the executive saloon market in Europe certainly in the UK where its competitors would be the likes of the BMW 5 series, the Mercedes C class and the new Jaguar XJ.

Many others have tried in this area of the market including Audi with the A6, Lexus with the LS and even Hyundai with the Genesis.

All in all its an extremely hard market to compete with the established brands, something GM are probably well aware of.

    Its a nice car

  • This is basic, thats really sucks, I mean there is now arm rest, no rear power windows, no ESP, no up-down driver seat, even the climatic is out, really sucks...

  • @oglomnjak

That thing should have been called the Chevy Snooze

  • I'm supposed to be impressed by the latest in the evolution of Cavalier > Cobalt? Another GM insult to our intelligence and design sense.

  • I don't understand why Europeans find hatchbacks so appealing. In the U.S. only the cheapest low-end cars offer them. I'd pay twice as much for a sedan rather than drive an embarassing hatchback version of the same car.;)

BTW, I love how the guy guy says Hyundai. In the U.S. we say Hunday, like Sunday with an H.

  • @hudkina Because its easier to put dead people (and shopping bags and dogs) in the boot :D Also nowdays many hatchbacks are cheaper and better looking than similar small sedans.

  • que carro mas xddxdxdxdxd a mi me gusta es muy xdxdxdxdxdxdxd......

  • looks like theres no armrest 0_o

  • @CroUltimateOne LOWEST GRIP WITH ALL CRUZE MODEL AND COROLLA 1980-1999,TOYOTA CODE E150

  • i dont like the european version chevrolets ...but this one looks cool

  • so nice

  • Beautiful, the Cruze i hope I could Buy one later in the Year.
