  • Did you know that the rider can dismount from the dragon? Can someone explain me why this is possible? I constantly died when I tried that trick.. :(

  • Good conversion, as part of the "asian trilogy" of licenses bought by activision in the early 90's. Other 2 were Ninja Spirit and Atomic Robokid.

  • I don't like that horrible sprite flicker (just see the dragon's tail)... C-64 does not have enough of HW sprites to handle this like coin-op HW... they should use SW routines (just look at ZX Spectrum version - much more stable pixel performance IMO)

  • On a real c64, the flickering is much less noticeable.

  • I believe that's actually caused by the low framerate of the youtube video. If you only record every second or third frame it's bound to look like ass.

  • @maiki60fps I hardly noticed it while playing this game :) It's however more annoying that there are no continues availible after game over... I played it last night on the c64 with lcd! hehe..

  • @maiki60fps: Not really an issue when you consider games like Turrican or Armalyte that were not plauged with flicker at all. This is just a case of inefficient coding.

  • @inphanta Turrican flickered a lot. Armalyte had attack waves designed so flicker could be avoided.
