This was a GREAT TV Series .. & a big hit here in Australia. But, it never did quite reach the massive, mad-cap, overwhelming cult status that good old Shintaro Akikusa achieved, in that wonderful hit Series .. The Samurai. Go, Shintaro & Tonbei .. smash those black ninjas, those koga ninjas, the phantam ninjas, & all the other nefarious clans who would bring down the shogun ...

this was the "BEST" Japanese action series film every Saturday afternoon on WPIX ch.11, in NYC!..those were the good old days, when "cable" never existed & we had better program than what we have now!..5 stars! ***** =0|

I cant believe Channel 7 through the dubbed episodes in the garbage they need their brains examoined. There must be more english dubbed versions out there in cyberspace. LOL Bring it on!

Damn, I loved this show as a kid! Last thing I heard was that Channel Seven threw the reels in the garbage after nobody claimed them in the early 70's?

Along with The Samurai a few years earlier, this show was a must for kids growing up on Australian TV in the sixties! I hope someone can get their hands on the dubbed version as it would sure bring back a lot more memories,

Does anyone have any excerpts of the show dubbed-not subtitled - in English, as this was how it was shown in Australia in 1960s on channel 7 weekday afternoons...this would be in the running for greatest Japanese TV show of them all..from the take him out palm punch and point, to the famous crab-run to prevent their Katanas sticking in their butts, the fabulous music score....this show sold me Japan.

I have 2 episodes dubbed in English - perfect quality - same as on Aussie TV all those years ago.
