  • This is clearly one of the best Blues recordings of all time! Played straight thru, no studio dubs, amazing guitarist showing just how badass he really was. I personally think he was the best natural talent at guitar that ever lived, having listened to many great guitar players. There is something so pure and powerful about Stevie that no one else could ever replicate. nuff said

  • This is what´s all about,

    The defintion if good music.

Rest in peace Stevie, where ever you are.

  • what is the name of the album ?

  • @mrtoretos this song was released on 2 albums. Texas Flood & Couldn't Stand The Weather :)

  • 4 people didn't shake, rattle and roll.

  • 4 dislikes? what the hell is that all about?

  • yeahhhh I love it!!!! so amazing!!!! <3

  • ;0)!!!!!!

  • SIMPLY PUT "THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER.....EVER !!!! "

  • STOP LOOKING, YOU HAVE FOUND THE BEST THERE IS!!!

  • Just Epic Blues.

  • This heals my soul on a cellular level..thank god for the blues..HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIST

  • JusT to Get High!..

  • Goosebubbles...Masterpiece...

    R.I.P SRV

  • Was in vegas when I heard this... Perfect song to compare the city too.

  • Heard this song on the radio when I was with my mom... Really good

  • simply perfect. It's power will live forever. And let's not forget the great Gary Moore, R.I.P.

  • without words... i got high just listenin' to him....

  • @upyanuts tin pan alley. Dumb question.

  • sex at it's best

  • when i was young i always thought that he want to imitate Jimmy Hendrix and did not listen enough music from Stevie, and have to set the record straight that Stevie has his very own identity and does miracles with a giutar and is with Jimmy one of the top players of the globe and guitarlovers should also listen to Monte Montgomery especially little wing, it is awesome people

  • THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! STILL

  • @ferdieregtop bb king?

  • @MrBentyWenty i spoke about the song not the player and if you think bb king is the best, i think different but i advise you to listen to monte montgomery with little wing (never liked covers) but this one blowed my mind so take a listen and look for ur self

  • @ferdieregtop man i hate to say this but i still think B.B King kills it. Im not here to argue because i think all blues is good blues but its just an opinion. Im just happy that their are other people on this planet that love blues like i do. i did check it though, and was amazed.... never heard it before so thanks for the heads up.

  • Whats better ? Tin Pan Alley or Led Zep- Since I've been loving you ? That's a tough call haha!

  • @upyanuts ooooh! tough one indeed!

  • I hate helicopters. Just fucking HATE them.

  • @a7x7636 Check out this guy Stevie's Snacks, he's got a quite a few good SRV tutorials out, and this is his take on the lick you're trying to play! I gave up on that lick a long time ago. It's madness!

    /user/gr8bluesgtr#p/search/0/8umgdf2l7fI

    Good. luck.

  • I love it. One of his best as far as I'm concerned!!!!!

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DO THE LICK AT 2:14?? someone should make a video on it

  • If Stevie did pray through his guitar you can bet the good Lord wanted him to pray more. The rest of us will be at that concert soon enough, I pray.

  • best stevie

  • You sure this song is 9 minutes long? Because I could swear time stands still when this is playing.

  • God took this man away from us too soon. I believe that Stevie Ray and Mark Knopfler are the best electric guitar artists out there. But this piece, well, let's just say that when I first heard it, the transitions and rifts; it takes me somewhere/someplace I just can't describe. The best damned blues piece I've heard in decades. God Bless you Stevie! You didn't just play guitar; you made it cry.

  • this song reminds of poolhalls,havin a beer n smokin a spliff

  • Heard this song for the first time in a stripbar in Montreal. Funny that I remember this song but couln't tell you the name of any of the girls.

  • the best song ever!!!

  • @doomsword2001 weed + booze+ cocaine+ benzos.

All that stuff works with SRV haha!

  • @o56kid

Did 'til he cleaned up after collapsing on a street in Paris and almost died from alchohol poisoning. a fifth of Crown Royal every day can do that to you. He paid off all his debts and made good on all his obligations. AND THEN, he released In Step. He turned out to be a fine gentleman, and a real Man who took care of his house. He is so missed still. I don't know of a single SRV fan that truly didn't love him. Still hurts so bad.

  • best music for making love...

  • @JohnTheSavage88 also try santana's europa or samba pa ti absolutely awesome too!!!

  • @gregb8000 Thank you for your advice man! I hope I'll apply it very soon ;)

  • tin pan alley + a very long trip

  • i'm a 14 year old girl , & i LOVE stevie ♥

  • Anyone have any idea WHY youtube won't let me play this song in a personal playlist? I get this "SME Group will not allow this song to be played in a playlist. Sorry 'bout that," or something similar. And it's not just this song by SRV. There are others.

  • The greatest guitarist who ever lived. He was amazing. This is music, this is talent. All the crap today can't come close to what stevie did.

  • From Wisconsin where this legend laid his head so respect him

  • Two people apparently never had it rough and can't understand where the rough one feel you little boys need to go suck on mamas titty. Coming from a good ol country boy who grew up with shit how can you not appreciate this music are you smoking Meth douche bags

  • As Holly would say "As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?"

  • @doomsword2001 tin pan alley + shrooms

  • @puffinonindo tin pan shroom + lsd

  • I hate helicopters

  • @doomsword2001 Put weed in tin pan, smoke in alley?

  • i cant believe anyone would dislike this. 2 dislikes. what is wrong with these people. obviously they dont feel the blues

  • Anyone can play blues...but not many can feel it, cuz that's what it's all about.. R.I.P. Stevie Ray

  • I remember the first time I heard this, I was 17 hungover in my bedroom listening to the tape I had bought the previous day. The people that talk about goose bumps I can completely empathise with and more. The pain of the hangover was just blown away but that SRV melodic guitar that was played with so much passion and feeling.

If there was a god he would be alive today, such a waste.

  • @bugscorb Of course God exists...he is just a blues fan and called SRV for a private concert.

  • GRACIAS por este regalo que le diste a la humanidad !!!!

  • SSSHHHH!!!! Stevies playing!

  • Stevie said he prayed through his guitar. oh yea, he did that!

  • @DONNANDMARY I pray when I hear Stevie. "Thank you Jah for such an amazing guitar player."

  • It's weird I get goosebump listening to this song.

  • @doomsword2001 I'm sporting the same combo man. Lovin' your work.

  • what album is this from?

  • @dbf678

    "Couldn't Stand the Weather"

  • Great song S.r.v!

  • stevie ray vaughn the best bar none R.I.P.

  • this man can lay it down

  • I know that the Blues is before my time, but I must say this is a kick a-s track.

  • @rmbb10 Nobody can say when the Blues started, however, it's a style of music that has easily surpassed 100 years, and is still going strong. No such thing as before my time with the Blues.

  • @WSemesteR Yeah that is true too; good point.

  • The two people that disliked this, live in the roughest place in town

  • this one and little wing cover are great.....

  • Having a long ride home in your car and smoking a joint to this song so freaking great. R.I.P Stevie Ray Vaughn. Your blues music and others moves my soul

  • how is it even possible to hit the dislike button?!??!

  • i wish someone would mix jimi hendrix and stevie's version of little wing 2gether

  • I love to smoke cigars and have a little scotch to this song and sit on my balcony and watch the night world pass by.

  • my eyes must be lying to me do i really see 2 dislikes for this song??? who could ever dislike a god like Stevie Ray Vaughan?

  • @KJE420 answer: JERKOFFS!!!

  • "This is one of the most amazing songs of all time..it doesnt matter where youre at this song will work!"

  • its raining outside and i remembered that i havent heard this beauty in like two years. thanks to his epic guitar playing, Stevie Ray will always be present among us. rest and rock in your bluish peace, master

  • * * * * *

  • The guitar playing, the drums, the instrumentals, SRV's singing, the lyrics - all of it mesmerizing! The bass - so subtle but such a profound impact . This song performance by SRV and DT always makes me emotional.

  • Please don't forget to take a moment of Blues on 8-27 to remember Stevie Ray, 20 years and still missing you brother....

  • Trying to learn this song is pissing me off XD

  • @bigfleabag Please don't forget on 8-27 to take a moment of silence (or Blues) to remember Stevie Ray, it was 20 years ago that he left us...

  • @simplemanhsv :( is my reply good sir.

  • He started the song exactly like the song Double Trouble from John Mayall with Peter Green. Ironic that his Stevie's band was called D T.

Both Peter and Steve are really awesome .

Such feel and power to the songs and their distinqished voices .

It really grabs ya by the heart and shivers through yer bones every time you hear it.

    sry for my bad english

  • An unreral song! What a voice!

  • for being self-important Mama's boy.

  • Douchebag, look who's living in his Mom's basement without a life. I didn't see your idiot rants until now exactly because i have a life and not tied to a computer. I'm not the one with a YouTube channel LOOKING for other people's posts to comment on. Christ, how pathetic is that? Now we know what 45 year old virgins do with their time. And I'd bet good money you got beat up alot in school. The real tragedy is it hasn't happened enough in adulthood to remind you of the consequences....

  • @Caroliner9r o lawd. i bet hes raging from that one. burnt to a crisp.

  • BEAUTIFUL.... SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL....

  • this song was never called "roughest place in town". Whe Sony re-released it on a later version of couldn't stand the weather and a greatest hits release along with a bunch of stuff Stevie NEVER wanted released, they didn't bother to check the original liner notes and miffed the title. The stuff released immediately after his death, was Sony forcing Jimmy as the executor of his estate, to honor Stevie's contract.

  • @Caroliner9r Wow, thanks for that insightful piece of music history. What was the name by the way? You must be the long lost Vaughan brother Bobby " The Scrotum" Vaughan. Over shadowed by his older brothers, it was rumored you descended into a life jello shots, gay bars, and finally, an addiction to gay internet porn that closed you off from the world of music. Come out of the closet Bobby, the music needs your hidden talents and knowledge of things unknown.

  • incredible, ive read in the most recent guitar world magazine in an interview with Chris Layton (double trouble) that this song was recorded live in the studio first take, as in it was supposed to be the dummy track, but the first take was so good, they didnt alter it at all. So basically they walked into the studio, cold with no warm up, plugged in their instruments and started playing this song so that the mix could be eq'd right, but just absolutely nailed it, rare rare talent.

  • @dmb3305 that was also how voodoo child by jimi hendrix was recorded, except jimi came in and said "hey guys, lets try this little thing here in E" or something to that affect. The rest of the band had never heard it before. Where did music go wrong? When did it go from great art to corporate facade? How did we get from The Beatles to Disturbed????

  • @dmb3305 Yea, they where AMAZING musicians, they played so well together!

  • killer song man

  • i use to play song all the time in guitar center but it didnt sound as good.

  • This is one of the reasons he is one of my top 3 guitar players of all time.

  • @trhnpc and the other two being ..?

  • @BrecMadak Jimi Hendrix and Gary Moore.

  • @trhnpc @trhnpc and the other two being ..?

  • tin pan alley is his greatest work of all his greats.

  • This song defines him for me. Freakin awesome all the way around.

  • such an amazing guitar player :) one of my fave srv songs ,i so want his no1 guitar

  • Amazing solo...so relaxing blues....

  • If this song doesn't give you goose bumps boy...

  • Cold Beer this song and a summer evening... HEAVEN

  • @caca1229 don't forget a cigar to go with those beers lol

  • the thick gauges just vibrate longer cause there thicker, and his pickups are probably pretty good like alisterknighter said

  • Love the guitar rife, reminds of my granddad. Country girl at heart.

  • Yes, for all his flash on things like scuttle buttin, this works better for me personally and shows a different element to his playing!

  • Yeeeeeaaahhhhhhhhhh..........

  • u cannot deiny the greatness of stevie ray vaughan

  • Sooooo great, I cant even believe how awesome.

  • beautiful guitar!

  • Wow omg why were you taken from us?? wow!! god do i miss you Stevie!!!!!!!!

  • Ебаси......... Стиви ти си велик...........

  • aaaaaaleys the roughest place...ive aver beeheeeeeeen

  • God damn this sounds just like my favorite led zeppelin song Since I've Been Lovin You

  • @BeLiketheSquerrl 100% agree. first thing I thought

  • is this tuned down to D or even lower?

  • stevie was almost exclusively e flat

  • @NERDZKANDY - I'm fairly certain SRV tuned 1/2 step down throughout (Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb) and used heavy gauge strings, one reason for his awesome guitar tone.

    Gotta love him! ;-)

  • @AlisterKnighter one quiestion, do heavy gauge strings give you a significant difference on sustain?

  • @lastrevolv - I find that it can help sustain, but it's not the only factor. Usually (and clearly there's a million ideas and opinions about this) the harder the wood on the fretboard (ie ebony) and the higher quality pick-ups will be the more significant factors in getting good/long sustain. Of course, there's the beauty of technology these days in effects and pedals that can help get a synthetic sustain. Hope this helps. Cheers

  • @lastrevolv there is more metal vibrating so the pickups pick up the sound easier also tuning to Eb helps

  • Play this track on some big-ass speakers and get lost in the delicate yet POWERFUL mixture. RIP SRV

  • great song.good story.

  • it is awesome to see all of you guys showing love to Stevie it warms my heart i see comments on all these other SRV videos where people are trying to prove how much they know about him and it realy bothers me i dont believe there is any room for that sort of thing this music is REAL and from the heart thank god for the blessing that is STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN

  • IDOLO

  • just so smooth, so bluesy. SOO STEVIE!!!

  • lo que seria stevie si estuviera vivo, no me cabe en la cabeza pensar lo que tocaria!! es un grosisimo

  • Holy shit, that is a great song.

  • i can listen to this all day long it never gets old. r.i.p stevie ray you were the king of this shit..goosebumps every single time*****

  • @199947 Totally.

  • @199947 oh hell yeah. i agree with you

  • Just beautiful.

  • shivers down my spine

  • Played it this morning on my remastered "Texas Flood" album, beautiful!!
