@ksascor Just looked for a video of King Abdullah's motorcade. It seemed to mostly consist of police cars and I couldn't tell which one was carrying the King. The British state limousines are designed so you can see the occupants. As for the colour, again that is a matter of tradition. The state limousines (and the royal train) have been painted the same colour of Burgundy since George V was on the throne.

Royal Ascot is a pretty buff places to spot cars. i was in the owners/trainers/jockeys car park and saw some incredible rolls royces. on my walk across to car park 1 and then to car park 7 i must have seen about 20 flying spurs and about 30+bentleys in total.
