@HeWhoIsIAm420 - Sorry to hear that you're an amalgamation of all three of the above. Not sure about intellectuals - anyone blessed with common sense would come out on top, hands down, against such ones.
Also don't know what lolwut means, and I don't thank I want to. Cheers!
@paulkate72 You saying you are sorry to hear that would be implying that you are actually sorry in an empathic sense, which obviously, you aren't. Not sure about intellectuals? Of course you aren't..and you can figure out what LOLWUT means? Its pretty self-explanatory, and ironically, doesn't require an abundance of common sense to figure it out. Your transparent attempt at frivolity using "Cheers!" is just...lame.
Congrats on being debunked by a kid at least half your age.
Your taste in music parallels mine in many ways, Charlie. Pretty good was Gene Autry as well. In another music genre (modern word!) we've both had our say on who was the best crooner - you say Bing Crosby, I say Al Bowlly - guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. Cheers, best to you and thanks for posting.
@paul72kate Thanks loads for your great notes. I did really like Gene and Bing and we certainly can have our own opinion about stuff like that and I respect yours totally. I think Gene was also great in the Pop world when he wanted to be: Here Comes Santa Claus, Someday, Rudolph, etc. Again, thanks for your comments and have a nice weekend. Charlie
@HeWhoIsIAm420 - Oh dear - does this mean we can't be friends now? Are you trying to wind us all up with your straight-from-the-shoulder remarks. With respect, it would be nice to get an apology, because a) I didn't utter any unpleasantries to you, and b) you may be having a bad day...
@paulkate72 A. You'll never hear an apology from me...ever. Not even if I accidentally pushed a button that launched a nuke. If that doesn't give you an idea of how likely that is...well yeah.
B. Bad day? Hardly, just got done watching the new episode of Spartacus and playing a little Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. So, all-in-all, it was a good day.
The song.."back in the saddle again" served Gene Autry well as well as being a business man when not being on his ranch. RIP Gene and as Roy said it "Happy Trails".
@navydoctrinidad Thanks, Charlie. I just finished reading Gene's autobiography. There was no bluster about the man - just a nice, unassuming guy. I hear they're finally going to release his entire TV series on DVD. High time, too!
Thanks to the Westerns Channel some years back, I "discovered" this fellow named Gene Autry. I started watching his TV show & was amazed to find Pat Buttram, who I previously knew only as Mr. Haney from Green Acres, was his sidekick! There was something about Gene's easygoing charm and pleasant voice that immediately hooked me. I had to see more! That was about 10 yrs ago and I've been a fan ever since. So, thank you, cable TV for introducing this "city slicker" from Brooklyn to Gene Autry.
@keedee That autry style hooked us all. Welcome to the crowd. Love your comment. Never forget, he is the only person with FIVE stars in the Holllywood Walk Of Fame. Fantastic person. Charlie
@fatjud1 Well. I'll give you half. Gene co-wrote the song with Ray. Gene made it a worldwide hit. Without his singing Ray or anyone else would not have had much. I still think Gene was the force behind the song as with so many others that he made standards. He was and still is the greatest Showman. Five Stars through and through. Happy New Year. Love your channel.
