lol this reminds me of the same year bambi was made and that was a great movie they bourght out and i agree the classic eps of all tthe old cartoons where impressive i wish we could go back but as i say i have a media box so im adding them as i go along
I miss the old disney, with all the classics, and cartoons. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Pluto. Not the hannah montana, wizards of whatever place there is now. This is what disney is all about.
I was raised off of Disney, I can be in the worlds crappiest mood and if anything Disney associated before the year 2000 crosses my sight, I become instantly ecstatic.
@pelida77: I think you're mistaking this cartoon with "Mr. Mouse Takes a Trip", which came out the following year. A brief film clip exists of Disney running through his lines as Mickey for that cartoon along with veteran voice-actor Billy Bletcher, who did the voice of Peg-Leg Pete.
It was quite a shock to find out that Mickeys voice was always done by Walt himself. For this cartoon they made a film of him recording the lines, but it was lost :-(
@yorkielover35 IKR?! "Aww, Pluto, I can't be mad atcha." Um, you just panned him for nearly a whole minute of yelling and insults after messing up just one time! Geez, Mickey, lighten up!
I actually read somewhere that the animators were having difficulty on animating some of Mickey's characteristics during that scene with Mickey and the bear so they taped walt while he was doing the dialogue. Unfortunately, that tape no longer exists...
Mickey: (Talking out loud) Ha, ha. Look, Pluto. It's you. (Thinking in his mind) "Huh?! Wait a minute. If Pluto's down there," (Points down at Pluto.) "then who's behind me?" (Points behind him. Sweats nervously and takes a deep glup.)
This was the first appearance of Mickey Mouse's "Fantasia eyes" (named so because this Mickey design was initially prepared for his "Sorcerer's Apprentice" appearance that was well in production by this time, but I guess the design leaked out into the short subject department)
I have a picture from this cartoon that someone drew for me hanging on the wall in my room. The part when mickey is reading the book to pluto. It was a present for my christening i've had it since i was one.
Contrary to popular belief, this was not the first cartoon for Mickey to gain eyes like we humans do. "Mickey's Surprise Party" (1939) and "The Hollywood Party" (1934) (while doing an impression of Jimmy Durnate) both holds that honor.
this is my favourite one. "Uh, I'm Mickey Mouse! You haven't heard of me? At home?" and the way he tries to keep the bear away from him, the things he says is hilarious XDDD

Is it just me, or does the outfit Mickey's wearing look like something Elmer Fudd would have on.

Guns were allowed in Disney cartoons back then...I bet the use of the word "kill" was allowed, too.
Pitiful, what Disney has become these days. -_-

@yorkielover35 Yeah. But he was only acting. He would never hurt his own dog's feelings. After all, he's Mickey's pal.

Frank Thomas, Preston Blair, and Ollie Johnston.

Frank Thomas animates the bear. Preston and Ollie animate Mickey a few times near the begining.
