Lol I never knew Frank played Zorro. Doesn't seem like a role that's suited for him, to me. That's what acting is about though, trying different roles and trying to bring out the best of that character. :) I wish the costume designer did a better job on his mask also, it didn't look right on his face. D:
Uhm, why do people discard their belongings and sword scabbards before a duel, yet this only happens sometimes? In the newer zorro films (Banderas) they wore everything. He even dual-wielded fully dressed.
wow..your right, he's fighting left handed. I didn't notice until I read some comments. That's cool...this movie was basically just like the 1940 version. This was a better ending. It's hard to believe that's Frank Langella.
Why can't he fight with his left hand? Captain Alfred Hutton, a late 19th century sabre master said that left-handed swordsmen were some of the most challenging. To encounter one was worth the experience.
Ah, thank you so much for posting these clips! I caught this on TV just once and ever since I've been trying to figure out if I dreamed it because the only version I could find was the 1940s version with Tyrone Power. Mind you, I adore that version but it's good to know I'm not crazy!
Yeah, Langella didn't have the best Zorro mask, but there's no disputing the man had the goods to play Zorro. And while I do like Banderas as Zorro, I think Tyrone Power and Guy Williams have a lot to be said for them, too.
mate i would like to thank u as well for these clips....this film is a classic n i never thought i would ever get to see this film or any scenes from it for tht matter....im rather emotional at the moment...haha...10 times better than the banderas/hopkins big but shallow hollywood efforts
Ricardo Montalban is awesome in this. One of his best performances. I LOVE the ending... "Senor, the Sword of the Vegas has never KNOWN such DISTINCTION!!!"
"The sword of the Vegas has never enjoyed such distinction..............Thank you.......father" The best closing line of a zorro movie

I managed to confuse this with the one with Rathbone and Power earlier today...still, both versions are outstanding.

My favourite Zorro. Frank may look different today - this was 36 years ago, after all - but those lips haven't changed...

Either playing a good guy or a villain Ricardo was always great. He'll be missed.

Some sword masters are so good they can fight with their right or left hand as they choose. Like in the first fencing scene of "The Princess Bride."

I love the statement made by Ricardo Montalban "So, inside the peacock, we find a hawk!"

Noone is as awesome as Banderas!
Check out the gay mask in this movie. It looks aweful. I guess Hollywood sucked back in the 70's lol
