You know, what? Just imagine if the line was Robitaille/Lemieux/Jagr? If that injury didnt prevent lemieux, im sure that line would of had around 240 goals by itself.
For reasons that aren't entirely clear, although the fact that in the Eastern Conference things were more defensive at that time might've been a factor, in the time that Luc was with my favorite & hometown team, the Rangers, he rarely showed the same flair & scoring ability he did with LA and to a lesser extent Detroit. In Pittsburgh it was somewhat similar. I don't think he was relaxed in New York. He seems like a laid back LA kind of guy & maybe New York just didn't bring out the best in him.
Agreed, and Ovechkin, despite the media hyperbole he gets, has one hell of a long way to go before he can be mentioned in the same breath as Lucky Luke.
