A really well-done video, emotionally complex and beautifully shot. Glad to see support for the It Gets Better Project moving from individuals to institutions. This video helped inspire similar work we just did at Georgia Tech.
I was just an exchanged student for a one-month program in NC state university, and I believe there wont be any happier summer that could compare to this. I got inspired by every inches in NCSU, and I felt blessed to join the program and meet every nicest ppl I ever met. Thank you all for stepping out and give them strength! Let's Viva Gay!!!!
I graduated from NC State in 2004. I have always been proud to be a Wolfpack, but even more so after seeing this video. Great job NC State, for getting involved in the "It Gets Better" movement!
this is a really good documentary. I was hoping to get a soccer scholarship at this Uni and well, I still am. Even more so after seeing this moving documentary because it highlights and brings into context student viewpoints. It doesn't matter who you are or what you are even!
I attend UNCG but I LOVE the GLBT center and all the work and support they provide not only to the campus of NCSU but to high school GSAs! They were so helpful when I was in high school
Love this video! First four minutes or so had me tearing up...Love that it gets better and that folks at NCSU are rockin' social justice. Great video!!!
I'm a student at NCSU & I love this! To those who say they won't support the GLBT community's actions ... no one's asking you to. But supporting equal treatment on personal and public levels for *everyone* is something to get behind - lest the same forces be turned against you.
I am a staff member and graduate of NC State (Class of '83) and I think this is an awesome video. It causes me to be even prouder of being a member of the NC State family that I already was. I extend my thanks to each and every person that had a part in the making of this vodeo.
I am an employee of University Dining and I am so proud to work for a university so proactive in their support of the GLBT community. To those who chose to be a part of this video: thank you so much for your courage to say what needs to be said. Go Pack!
"I did the sob story, you know, the 20 years feeling bad about myself, and assuming no-one would like me when I came out, and I did, and nobody cared. Everybody's cool. That's the great thing about our generation. We're just... happy." Made me lol, then cry.
The issue is not supporting the LGBT community, the issue is not violently acting against them. Banning civil marriage thru laws, calling its memmbers inferior, to trying destroy their families with laws, are all despicable acts. If you don't want to marry an LGBT person, then don't. But saying we are less human than you is an act of violence. Your attitudees expressed are what fuel the flames of hate and physical violence. You have blood on your hands, try to wash it off.

this really made me sick who are they to represent our school why dont we show real people with problems and struggle that still succeed than this bullshit
Wow! This makes me proud to be an alumni of NCSU! I was a founding member of NCSU's Lesbian Gay Student Union (LGSU) back in 1989-90. Please continue the fight for acceptance.
Catawba Valley Pride Inc is a newly formed organization supporting the LGBT community in and around the Hickory area.
I admire the people in this video and the message that it brings, but I also want to point out the hypocrisy of much of the people at NC State when some of their students continually call students at Chapel Hill "faggots" when they obviously have a group of students at their own school who would be offended by the statement. That is just ridiculous. Their rhetoric is hateful and offending, and I can't imagine how much better NCSU is getting.
@fitypacent I do need some advice from you regarding some other
elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
@fitypacent 2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
@fitypacent I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
"Prejudice of any kind implies that you are identified with the thinking mind. It means you do not see the other human being anymore, but only your own concept of that human being. To reduce the aliveness of another human being to a concept is already a form of violence."
@Rumake Dude, if someone wants to be gay, I'm not going to stop them, and like I said before, I'm completely against violence or cruelty towards homosexuals. But this video is about trying to get people to SUPPORT them in their homosexual actions. I'm not going to do that, and I'm sure that their are a bunch of other people at NC State who do not support their actions either.
Whether you are a member of the GLBT community, or a straight ally who will stand up for the rights of your common man and woman, this campus deserves our best foot forward. I am Michael Ramos and I am a proud Straight Ally of the GLBT community here at NC State University. We all deserve to live free as human beings, all over the world.
This made me incredibly proud and grateful to be from North Carolina - UNC '07 grad here. I found this so, so moving, and I am touched by the honesty and the courage from each of the participants in this short film.
I couldn't have imagined a LGBT Center at NCSU when I was there 10 years ago walking by "fag" and "queer" in the Free Expression Tunnel everyday. Great job!
Super brilliant! What a wonderful expression of love, caring, and hope. Great production and Maddy's last bit just slayed me with its heart. You will all go far.
Amazing work....I am so proud of everyone who took part in this...... and I am a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill :-). A special call out to Justine Hollingshead --- the work you do at NCSU inspires me every day. Love you! John Monti
In 2006 Princeton Review listed NC State in the Top 20 for the category "Alternative Lifestyles Are Not an Alternative." I am very proud of our campus and the members of the GLBT community for creating this change in atmosphere.
Awesome video! Things have changed a lot since I graduated from NCSU in 1982. I'm another Wolfpacker who can attest that things DO get better. I just wish that I had the confidence then that I have now. I would have had an even better undergraduate experience.
PROUD TO BE A WOLFPACK TODAY AND EVERYDAY! Thanks to the GLBT center, Justine, and of course WILL for making this happen! It's things like this that will transform our campus into the INCLUSIVE place we envision! Let's keep it up! GO PACK!
Great job representing NC State....an exciting environment where positive change is taking place and you can be part of it. Proud to be an out staff member at NCSU!
Slick production with beautiful, authentic voices. Gosh, I wish we'd had "It Gets Better Videos" when I was a teen (back in the Dark Ages). Big hugs and even bigger thanks to all the thousands of people making these videos. They're good for kids and they're good for grownups.
I don't go to NC State, but the campus is 5 minutes from my house so it's amazing to see such courageous people (literally) so close to home.

How do you fight bullying? One way is to give them role models by having young LGBT professional go into the schools.
