Something i learned from my teacher is before you start, put thumb tacks in a straight line on the inside of the bown starting from the bottem and going to the rim, and when your triming if you hit a tack, that means stop trimming there, and you should get about a 1/4th inch thickness all around .

another tip is to use a needle and poke it through the bottom to test the thickness of the bottom!

@neonxblondie Or flick the botton/sides to hear how thick it is. A low "thunk" means it is thick, and a high "think" means it is thin. Flick it before you ever start trimming, and flick it a few times in the process of trimming.

Beautiful bowl. I'm learning how to trim and it makes me want to cry. I'm so afraid of going through the bottom or the side of my bowl. I like your techniques though. Thank you :] <3
