Alright, I've listend to almost every metallica album all the way through (Only one's i have yet to FULLY listen to are Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets,
Reload, And Garage Inc.) It took me awhile but i really like Load and St. Anger now. i can see a few reasons people would hate St Anger (No Solo's, Snare drum sounds like a trash can lid, some of the hooks were a little odd) but i think LULU will be Metallicas new Most hated album.
@smoku46 I can't say I agree with that. Death Magnetic was intelligent and well-written, plus it sounded great. St. Anger was sloppy, written lazy (no solos?!?), and sounded like shit. The drums were particularly horrible. When a band makes an album that sounds like the music that made them famous in the first place, that's not selling out. When they change their sound in order to sell more albums, that is selling out. Metallica has done that a few times, but not with Death Magnetic.
@Warghost1000 st anger was heavily influenced by stoner rock/metal so I don't see any truth to what you are saying because most of the stoner songs are without solos and with crunchy as you call it "sounds like crap" sound which is pretty much a stoner trademark

I therefore came to the conclusion why this albums so shit. Metallica thought they would be modern and new, and after consulting with Pitbull, they tried out new lyrics recommended from him.
