  • i think you have a shooting based version of tourettes, what the hell is wrong with your hand? if your were at my shooting club and did that, every member would hold you down and take turns smashing your hand to a bloody pulp with the butt of your crap rifle. and as for being venom tuned your a total liar!!!!! it sounds like a bag of spanners being dropped into a barrel filled with broken bottles. i hate you, i hate your family and i wish nothing but misfortune to you and everyone you care about

  • @TheRealColt

Lol love purple helmets like you, Hard man hiding behind the impermeable ( look up in the dictionary if you can afford one or know what one is ) wall that is the internet, nothing better to do with your sad excuse of a pathetic existence of a life.

As for shooting technique? suggest you check out the artillery hold, as thats what I am doing here

Don't believe me? Suggest you drop Phil Bulmer a message on airgunbbs. It was featured in Airgun World sometime in 2007...

  • This Stingray are good rifle, better in my opinion that Hw95

  • @LASERMAX73

    I haven't shot a HW95 yet so I wouldn't know :(

All I know is I much prefer my Stingray over a Friends HW80. Thing was terrible to shoot

  • @Weihrauch88 , I have one HW95 in .22 and not more accurate or same that my Stingray carbine, more airgunners say that more good HW95 in 4.5, my Stingray was acurate very fine whith jsb exact express 14.3gr and jsb jumbo exact 15.9gr.

  • is there much recoil?

  • @Straightsix76

Not much at all bud! very short recoil, If you have ever shot a small .22LR cartridge gun. Thats what this is comparable to :)

  • is it fitted with a gas ram?

  • @Straightsix76

    Nope

New spring, uprated piston seal, and powerbands.

  • are you using RWS superdome pellets? if so what do you think of them compared to accupell domed? nice gun too

  • @dannyjw123

    Thanks mate :)

I tried the older Crosman Acupels and they were ok, nowt stunnning, was getting 2" groups at 30 yards.

Superdomes however, they are much better, in terms of accuract and consistency. Through my Chronny F1 I am getting 596-600fps all the time with them. Probably the best pellet I've ever used with this stingray ( and other guns too )

  • @Weihrauch88 k cheers bud i have the webley r 10 shot an ive been using rws superdome and have been getting good headshot kills nearly everytime i use it weather it be woodys or the occasional rabbit, but my pal keeps tellin me to use accupell he uses them in his weihrauch hw100 so i wasnt sure wich ones to use but im going to stick with superdome now so thanks mate keep it up! : )

  • @dannyjw123

    Definitely dude :)

Best value for money pellets IMO, lot of top HFTers use them

  • I am having my webley stingray carbine delivered tomorrow, does the silencer make it more accurate and is it worth getting?

  • nice rifle i have a stingray mk2 in .177 there good for target and hunting i mainly use mine for pest control 5 * video

  • @g3zz3r69

    Thanks mate

    After a .177 next myself :)

  • great trigget pull, great safety, did you tought about field target? howeverr i gave it 5 stars

  • @RtgrP88

Seriously, learn how to shoot before criticising

The support was firm enough to hold the weapon.

  • @RtgrP88

where is your shooting video? are you an instructor? so how can you pass criticism when you have probably not even touched, or breathed on a gun

  • I tried this grip but couldn't get on with it. It's obviously a personal thing

  • @vultee1956

Definitely mate, it's how you are most comfortable at the end of the day!

  • @RtgrP88

This is the correct hold for a spring powered air rifle, it helps to stop recoil.

  • @RtgrP88 holding a real rifle is serous but a air rifle is a personal thing dick

  • @rambongo

Nope, it's called trying to get comfortable, trying to relax, as you don't want to be straining muscles which causes you to shake.

Seriously learn about shooting before you start gobbing off.

  • Superb quality rifles the British built Webley Stingray.Iam searching for a .25 cal carbine version.

  • why do you hold the gun like that

  • @fadmad100

Let the gun carry out its natural movements, gripping the front stock restricts its movements ie the recoil.

  • @rambongo

Shows how much you know about shooting spring rifles then.

Bit different to shooting powder guns as the recoil movement is different.

No need for bad language either, shows your lack of vocabulary and that you really are a really hard E-thug.

  • @rambongo

I can tell you obviously don't know much about shooting.

  • @rambongo

    You haven't a clue.

  • Hi i just bought a new webley stingray l l Can you fit silencer to them? it has the front sight on it, does not seem to come off?

  • @ryankeighron

    Hiya mate

How old is the stingray? if it is a new one and is anything like the old one, you should be able to unscrew the end cap and fit a 1/2 inch female thread silencer, like the Logun silencer

Don't take my word 100% on this, as I haven't seen the new ones yet I am afraid bud

  • dood vid mate! love these "real" webleys. not impressed with the new ones though they have great triggers an a "v mach" spring as standard. the barrel wieght comes off if you remove the allen screw and use a heat gun to undo the epoxy, then you can fit a slip on silencer mate, hope that saves you a pound or two! its nice to see a guy who knows how to shoot a springer propperly! ie.not gripping and good trigger control and follow through! 5stars.

  • @hobo31009

Thanks for the kind words mate

Still haven't got around to doing the end weight! really want it off

  • where can u find the old webley stingray? when u look on the internet its the stingray 2 everywhere, where is the stingray1?

  • They're not available as new I am afraid mate, just have to keep an eye out on the 2nd hand market

  • would a stingray for $190 be an alright deal? how much are they in most stores or online? thx

  • Depends on the age of the Stingray mate

If its a new shaped one I'd steer clear, newer models aren't as good as the older British made ones

  • who sells older ones? thx

  • Not available as new anymore I am afraid mate :(

  • That webley you have there, looks to have good blue,is it as good in comparisment to your other rifles?believe it or not the new turkish webley are fitted with v-mach kits standard,I guess there not put together proply just like many mass produced gunes, try give it a greas and get a re crown.

  • Vmach as standard? thats new to me, never heard that before!

As for a good comparison, it's in a different league to be honest compared to the solo and XS78, much more a challenge to shoot and much more satisfying when hitting the target

The gun was stripped and rebuilt with a Vmach kit about a year and a half or so ago, looking at getting the barrel recrowned and re threaded to get rid of the ugly barrel weight!

  • v-tune?decent scope comes before that lol.

  • Haha

I know mate... got a different scope on her now, the one you see on my solo video, the 4-12x40, still not fantastic but does the job, my main problem is clearance issues with the barrel, the new one is about 3mm away from the barrel when the barrel is broke, tried my 6-18x44 on it and it just won't go on

    Regards

    Tom

  • I did not mean my comment in a negative way.Its just these springers destroy scopes and its hard to find decent scopes now.I use the old simmons wtc but they are dis continued now :-( and imo they were the best budget scope you could buy and handled springers with ease.I am going to try the new aetec on one of mine but a bit scared tbh as the build quality is not as good as the wtcs.

  • which cal is the rifle

  • Sorry about late reply, it's a .22

  • where r the webley xocet made

  • New ones are made in Turkey as far as I am aware

    Though I could be wrong

  • yeh they r mate, i got a stingray last year and it isn't good at all, very innacurate

  • Nice

When loading try to keep the barrel pointing downwards thus ensuring correct seating of pellet.

  • When I load the pellet, I press it down into the breach/barrel, as you would with a rimfire to prevent premature discharge

  • nice conpact rifle the stingray k, ive had one in .22 before... good build quality on them to. gd vid mate

  • i recently put a deposit on a .22 webley stingray, it was one of the last to be made in england and for some strange reason it hasnt been sold:S i believe it is a xs model as the silencer cannot be removed, am i right? i tested it out before hand and it felt well balanced, quiet'ish and had plenty of power! i cant wait until i properly buy it. thanx, joe.

  • As far as I was aware there were only two different Stingray types made in England, The carbine one as seen in this video and the standard barrel length ones

I'm pretty sure the XS model was a Turkish made one

  • sorry iv made a mistake, its actually a carbine with a regular silencer on but its definatly british made. iv just got home from picking it up, however iv promised myself not to use it until christmas. thanx

  • Ahhh

So just like my one then is mate?

Best of luck when you get to use it :)

  • The XS was made for a very short time not long before Webley folded up,there cannot be many around.

  • was this made in england when webley was still english cos my new stingray xs .22 is made in turkey or something.

  • Yup

One of the original British ones, bought 8 years ago

  • what would you say out of the 3 air rifles would be best for rabbits?

  • Very hard choice to be honest mate

Well the XS78 is out of the question for me, as the bolt action is far too noisy, very accurate, Also its a bit loud to shoot without a silencer

Logun solo, Very quiet, Bolt action very smooth, no recoil, and with a 10 shot mag it makes it easier

The stingray, feels as though it's got more power than the two for some strange reason, I like hunting with this gun as its more of a challenge so to speak

It depends what you are after from a rifle really

  • i have the new webley stingray xs in .22 and it has a loud safety but woth the silencer that is fixed to the barrel it is far quieter that most springers. havn't got a rabbit with is yet, even after 4 afternoons.

  • i have bought a hw97k recently and this afternoon got its first rabbit

  • still never shot 1 wiv ma stingray

  • Argue all you want mate

But can't you hear the audible difference with and without?

    It does make a difference

and yes I know there is a fair bit of mechanical noise from springers etc

  • used to have an air arms s410 shot well with it bit bulky tho quite heavy!! Anyone shot one?opinions?? also had bsa lightning and pung many a doo wi it ha ha ha gd wee rifle for vermin but sold it 4 s410

  • Out of all the target shooting videos I've watched on Youtube (you'd be surprised the number of people who have both a rifle and video camera), I think yours impressed me the most. No, you're not hitting pop cans from 200 yards using only iron sights, but you seem to have a very steady grip on the gun without getting in the way of the recoil.

Anyway, keep the videos coming. Maybe a pop can at 200 yards?

  • Many thanks for the kind words there mate :)

I don't think the Stingray would carry out to 200 yards lol! On the button when it was chronoed I think it was 11.2 ft lbs?

I'll try getting some more videos up soon :)

  • I love the ENGLISH webleys! It's a pitty they closed! Why everybody in England chose the .22 calibre instead the .177?! At only 12 foot/pound, the smaller one has a much flatter trajectory.

  • The models I like more are the patriot and the eclipse. What a wonderful rifles! The patriot isn't the gun for everybody, but after knowing how use it correctly (handling and correct weight pellet use) is a fantastic piece! However, I must say it doesn't performe at all in .177, too powerful for this caliber.

  • Generally yeah .177 doesnt perform fantastic in higher power air rifles due to pellet tumble, once it goes beyond the speed of sound it becomes unstable

Webley aren't closed, they're owned by a Turkish company now mate, still in production but not in Birmingham anymore

  • hi , lovely gun. could you tell me how much it cost on its own?? thanks

  • Awesome gun there mate! Wish Venom is still in business..miss Ivan's work. I should post a video of my Webley Xocet in .22..it's a little modded..but I dunno how.....I love my Webleys...Webleys I owned..StingRay .25 deluxe (sold), Xocet Carbine .22, Webley Raider .22 single shot, Custom Raider in double shot, Venom Viper (just sold) double shot, C1 .177, Tempest .177, Patriot .22....hmm...I think I like Webley stuff amongs other things..lol.

  • hi weihrauch 88 is this gun any good. it sounds nice and doesnt seem to recoil to much. i'm looking for a gun to buy from having a shitty b2 custom. the trigger on that was far to heavy, wondering if this has two stage or it's just got a nice easy trigger. Just need something good for rat's and target at about 30-35 yards.

would you reccomend this? or if you've tried the bsa lightning would you reccomend that?

    any help is appreciated.

  • I've tried both and they're very similar handling guns straight out of the box

Mine however, has been modded, Has a venom V-mach Stage 1 kit, There is a huge difference now compared to when it was standard, there is virtually no recoil, and its much quieter

Out of the box though it was pretty good, jsut a bit loud and had a bit of a recoil

  • The webley stingray is a nice gun and would do for what you want but i hate the breakneck action its a pain in the ass

  • no dimwit u just aim high everytime

  • no, without the bipod i hit on target everytime basically but at 20 yrds the bipod makes it shoot 5-6 cm high. why the heck would i aim high.

  • i've just discovered that, it just shoots high every time

  • i have the stingray xs or something, £270 with a great scope, do you know any good websites where i could get a nice bipod for it?

  • To be honest mate, Springers really do not like bipods, they stop the rifle from carrying out its natural movement ie the recoil, its best just to have a good firm grip ( not too firm )

  • Nice rifle mate. ive had the standard version of the stingray k .22 untuned. i now have a venom 80 .177

    check my vid

  • tom tom tom why do you hold your rifles in such a funny way

  • Easier to manage the recoil mate

The rifle should be able to carry out its natural movement, ie the recoil

You shouldnt hold the rifle like a vice, you start shaking and wobbling and the rifle cant carry out its normal movement

  • Nice use of follow through.

  • Thanks very much :)

  • I see loads of people with £200+ springers that can't shoot because of poor follow through!

  • my newish turking webely stingray was 250 and it shoots crap, price doesnt mean quality, i now wish i hadnt bought it, i can shoot my hw97k very well, groups under 5 mm

  • webley patriot its best air rifles.webley stingray to smol for me:)

  • Heh

Except there is a slight problem with our law here, if the rifle produces more than 12ft lbs of energy, you need a license, and it takes on average 6-12 months to get one

And this rifle is plenty powerful enough for what I do :)

  • And BTW, try not to closing your eye while shooting.

  • Hehe, yeah its a bugger, thing is before I shot this, I had been shooting my logun solo and SMK XS78 which are both recoilless and then I shot this, guess I was shooting it like my solo and XS78

  • Nice rifle, but scope... i got BE4200 6-24x40 SF on my HW98, and it works great.

  • Cheers :)

What do you use the rifle for? thats one hell of a scope for magnification to be fair...

  • Im using it for long distance shooting. Above 50m. I'm from poland and we got a limit below 17J, but my 98 have 21J. I was shooting plastic botles from distance over 100m, and pellet always go through both sides. Forgive me please my grammar.

  • Ah pretty powerful then :)

You grammar/ Language is understandable :)

  • nice gun that, how much it set you back fella?

  • One of the original Birmingham made ones

    bought in 2001 I think...

1500 pellets, 500 webley harriers 500 lazadomes and cant remember the others

    50 targets

    Logun silencer

    AGS 3-9x40 mil dot

think it came to £240ish :)

  • fookin hell... thats a good price innit. going to buy a one today. dunno if i can afford a webley with buying a new house but ill see what i can do

  • should'nt grab it by the barrel the oil from your hands causes rust.

  • Not being funny or anything, but where else am I supposed to grab it from?

NEVER grab the silencer, it'll bend it causing pellets to clip

Plus I've had the rifle for 7 years now, and the bluing is just starting to fade

  • Oil actually helps prevent rust,, dont you mean sweat from the hands,

Re bluing is easly done and cheap.

    P.S. Nice rifle Weihrauch88.

  • Cheers mate :)

Yeah I have read it a few times that the sweat from your hand's speed up the process of rust, as sweat contains salt

Every month I give the rifle a good cleaning and oil the action and externals of the gun

  • not if you clean it before you put it away! you idiot

  • I've had my Stingray for about 6 years now, and no matter how wet or mucky it gets, fires fine.

  • Yes!

    They're grand rifles

This one is well good now with the venom stage one in it, the recoil is so short now, and its well quiet too :)
