Hilarious when you click the profile only to find 17-20 year old kids trying to explain what flows more for an exhaust dual exhaust on a V6 is pure aesthetics. A V6 like the VQ is 60 degree's each bank is even firing pulsing that help scavange from the opposite bank You little kiddies should just watch the video as is and don't recommend anything to anyone.
those argueing on single vs. dual single-good low end power where dual-for highway power in the more means of dur more air movement through the engine my Z has the dual intake and dual apexi N1 exhaust around town it runs rich with an amazing throttle response where highway it opens up and laughs at comaros and mustangs
the stock exhaust on the Z is not a true dual exhaust setup. it's a single exhaust with dual tips at the end to give the illusion of being a dual exhaust setup. completely pointless imo. im planning on picking up the N1 ExTi at the apexi garage sale this month. nice vid btw. like that rear diffuser.
It does not come with dual. It is one pipe that feeds into a side mounted chamber style muffler(similar to 08STI). Then it feeds out of 2 exits. Very inefficient. The single exit straight pipe design eliminates virtually three 90 degree bends. Less bends equals more top end power due to more free flowing exhaust.
No kidding, yes the z does not have a dual exhaust system. However it does have two headers two cats and a y-pipe into the single system and a chamber muffler. What I meant by my statement is that because half the system is dual, that this type of exhaust system should be utilized, reverting back to single other than the obvious weight drop, seems like a step in the wrong direction to me. To get the same amount of flow it is more practical to run two smaller pipes rather than one large one.

why did you decide to have single exit when the z comes standard with dual.

@jkebun which is why you let your Z breathe... starting with buying an aftermarket true dual? borla all day ;)

Oh definitely, but single pipe anything is better than the sideways mounted stock muffler.
Anyway yeah I see what you're saying, it was the way you worded it made it sound like you thought the stock exhaust was true dual all the way back.
EnzoFirrari2k6 2 years ago
because the dual is actually a single split into 2. A single is more efficient, resulting in more flow, resulting in more HP.
