I didn't like when they put the V8 in the Esprit, because it took away the one thing that appealed to me about them. The Esprit was really an underdog supercar. Originally and up to a certain year, I'm not really sure when, the Esprit had been a four cylinder engined car. This was a major kick in balls to the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche. Here was a car that looked just as good as they did, and could hang with them to a degree but will only half or one third the cylinders.

I know this from a guy that before 7 years has the same car, and spare parts so expensive. He always have problems with the car. An this is unfair racing becouse here the cossie is 2000cc turbo and 225hp against espirit with 3.500 v8 twin turbocharged engine with 340-350hp. A 350bhp Cossie still won't match a 350bhp Lotus V8 - Still has less lag, more torque, higher top end, and better midrange accelleration.
I know for a fact it's a T34 because it runs about my bit. Regardless of registration. It runs over 500 brake now.

@Maastricht1 lotus's are made primarily for cornering not straight line speed, i think it might be closer with corners but the lotus handles amazingly well too. and don't forget the cossie was designed for rally and loose surface racing... Like you said, you can't compare an escort with a sportscar hahaha

The Lotus Esprit SE V8 or V8 will always be faster than a Ford Escort RS Cosword poor, you are comparing a European Ford model into a thoroughbred sports as the European Lotus too, cars are different competitions(eg that you're comparing a 4RM is the Ford Escort WRC participant several years ago that drove Carlos Sainz with a competitor of GT as the lotus.)Both cars are very beautiful but I'm always a fan of the small lotus of the Amiga game 500 Lotus Turbo Challenge II.

Exept if you start a race from low rpms.Escort with 340hp has less lag becouse the bigger boost with the same turbo.If you know about escort cosworth you must know that stock turbo may reach 380- 400hp. And Lotus do it in 12.8.. not 12second. Big difference.. An this is unfair racing becouse here the cossie is 2000cc turbo and 225hp against espirit with 3.500 v8 twin turbocharged engine with 340-350hp. So little respect. and did very well with such a great difference in power.

@Mr80Sxman Because the Lotus has next to no lag, it runs twin T25's and has 3500cc pushing them. The esc is known to be laggy even at standard boost because of the big old T34. I didnt say the lotus does it in 12 seconds, I wrote 'mid 12 second quarters'.
A 350bhp Cossie still won't match a 350bhp Lotus V8 - Still has less lag, more torque, higher top end, and better midrange accelleration.

I know for a fact it's a T34 because it runs about my bit. Regardless of registration. It runs over 500 brake now.
You are correct though, 28 model, though, even at the time of this, it was already different from the rest. There is also a really sweet Monte running about here, will get a vid for you all.
