  • Im pretty sure the v6 has a convex base.....

  • parts that hold the fan are backwards!

  • Myofusion IS GOOD SHIZZ! :D

  • my Noctua NH-D14 did the same thing. It was never a problem and temps were still 39-41c idle on a i7 920@3.8

  • @orangedrink really? my NH-D14 does not do this

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech hmm don't really know. I followed the instruction step by step. i may have to recheck it then.

  • @orangedrink Yeah, my NH-D14 doesnt wiggle, are you sure you mounted it correctly?

  • this is why use a v8

  • @dragata1 cooler master sent me the V8 mounting for my V6 so no wiggle

    -Price

  • nh-14 is the best air but man toughs fans it comes with are ugly! i have a antec 920 and it does ok almost as good as a h-100 , i know it and the h-100 are both not the best but i like being able to see my gear.....

  • awwh man what a downer !!!!!!! i would have never had the guts to take it that for in the first place!

  • you have to connect your wrist strap if you want to be static free ;)

  • @sotosgt I think it was connected to a case below the desk top

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech Can you tell me what is the best air cooler for i7 and i5?Thanks

  • @m0cahacker the noctua NH-D14 is the best air cooler

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech Ehm Price what about the Enzotech Ultra-x...

  • @Alexanderdanice Old as hell.

    -Lavco

  • @LavcoPriceTech Yeah well but it cools good :/

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL

  • Damn. I am so glad I saw you break yours before I broke mine.

Will never buy another Cooler Master CPU cooler after this debacle.

  • @ALPHA2258G33Z3R lol why? I was being dumb

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech You shouldn't have to get Cooler Master to send you another bracket. Anyone who has built their own rig would think there was something wrong, because coolers aren't supposed to move.

Anyway, you showed a lot of people what NOT to do, which is always a good thing.

I played around with those brackets, trying to get it tighter. It's the height of those two "nipples" that keeps the cooler from locking down tight. Sand them down a bit with 600-grit paper, and it will work.

  • @ALPHA2258G33Z3R the cooler still performs well even with the wiggle, I am glad we showed what not to do as you stated but its really not necessary to mod the cooler

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech Good to know. I was taught they HAD to be tight. But then, I was also taught to spread thermal paste evenly over the core surface, while today everyone is putting a little blob in the middle and calling it a day.

Keep doing what you do. You guys look like you're having fun, and that's how it should be.

  • @ALPHA2258G33Z3R thank you and we will, take care

  • @LavcoPriceTech CPU I know but how far you OC the RAM??

  • @nymxcar Oh....... Well I think we ran the ram at 1866 which is its stock mhz. So I dont think we OCd it at all actually.

    -Lavco

  • @nymxcar the ram wasn't OC'd, you can't overclock ram with sandy bridge

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech How far where you able to push them?

  • @nymxcar Whatcha mean? The RAM or the CPU? Or something else?

Because the CPU we could get 5Ghz

  • @LavcoPriceTech At 5ghz that sounds to good to be true. What RAM you had it with?

  • @nymxcar Corsair dominator GT

    -Lavco

  • @LavcoPriceTech I see, by the way I got a rosewill destroyer case, asus p8z68 v pro mobo , I7 2600k would the v6 fit?

  • @nymxcar Yes and I have had a stock wiggly V6GT on a 2600K at 5Ghz and max temps were 67C which is totally fine for 24/7 use

    -Price

  • @snipekill2445 its ok, we don't need your dumb ass anyway

    -Price

  • It snapped because you tightened it too much. I have this heatsink on my CPU (i7 950) which is O/C'ed to 4GHz and it idles only a few degrees above ambient and never goes over 50°C.

So yeah, the wiggling is fine. The thing wasn't designed to have its brackets tightened using a breaker bar. User error, completely.

  • @RB5566 Oh yes I know, but they did send me an alternative mounting solution. Its basically the mounting off of the V8, 4 "bolts" tightened down with 4 nuts. Secure in every corner, and I swear I get better temps too.

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech What I was getting at was...if you had bad temps, it was because you installed it incorrectly or used too much/not enough paste. I was getting idle temps of 35 with a 32 ambient...even at a 4GHz o/c on a Q-core processor and never goes over 50°C. I'm even using 1600 RPM fans without an issue, it's whisper quiet.

The whole point is that it's not defective...it works if you put it on properly. If you need better temps than what it will provide then you're just being picky.

  • @RB5566 I didn't need better temps max temp right now is 62C and its about 90F in my room

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech Is it possible to get the V8 Mounting from them without having to go trough this? lol I am getting the same cooler but I keep hearing about the loose wiggle around it has due to the poor mounting it comes with. I know the V8 has good mounting but doesn't cool better than the V6.

  • @nymxcar You could prob just tell them that it broke lol they dont ask for proof

    -Lavco

  • @nymxcar the wiggle doesn't affect the temps, the cooler still works great with the wiggle

    -Price

  • @RB5566 it was definetly USER FUCKUP, im sorry bud but its not an automotive part .as long as you have the cooler against the cpu its fine and if it moves thats fine,i can move a 500 lb fixture on a granite table but its still 100 % contact so again big doo doo on your part bud.

  • Man, im not subscribing on this shit....

  • this guy is a moron

  • @jasonheob Cool Story Bro

    -Lavco

  • you're a fucking idiot, man... "i've workd on CARS before..." - you're LUCKY you didn't obliterate your MoBo (that's motherboard, dude) - i was waiting to see you pull the backing plate through the board LOL.

  • @L45V3G45 you mad? You jelly?

    -Price

  • @LavcoPriceTech no, I am TOTALLY entertained by stupid people!!! LOL check out epicfail.com

  • @L45V3G45 problem?

    -Price

  • @L45V3G45 Nah you mad you mad

    -Lavco

  • wow im srry for that

  • I have an MAD machine and had the same problem of wiggling, so what i did was change the orientation since for the AMD system it comes with another bracket!!

  • I have installed my share of coolers in my day, 25 years into computer builds. You really should not of used a socket like that. If you did everything CoolerMaster suggested for installation and it was lose, you needed a replacement. I am surprised you didn't crack your motherboard. This comment was not written to insult you.

  • @xmutator Yeah it was a bad movie, I am glad we did it though to show other people NOT to do it. The V6 GT just wiggles, we had another one and it did the same thing.

    -Price

  • maybe it wouldnt wiggle if you installed the brackets the right way,you installed them the opposite way!!!!

  • @MegaRaymond555 Tried both ways it didnt matter. Its the mounting from coolermaster

  • I use myofusion too :D

  • @EroSeninLucas Ya!!! Protein!!!

  • @LavcoPriceTech a very good one btw

  • @EroSeninLucas Probably the best most complete protein available for the price.

  • @LavcoPriceTech Totally agreed. But here in Brazil I pay R$280 for one hahahah expensive. But the best on that price here

  • @EroSeninLucas That sounds like alot IDK if it is but it sounds like it. We pay 30 USD for that big container.

  • @LavcoPriceTech it IS a lot! haha same as Jack3d or Hemo Rage that we pay R$200,00. Wich is, for us, almost the same of U$160 for you.

  • I think the protein says everything.

For future reference, if there's wiggle, that's probably the way the cooler is meant to be. There's some wiggle on my TRUE 120, and it cools extremely well. What you did... well, computer's aren't cars. :-P

  • @madpistol Well they should be lol but the wiggling was a personal preference thing.

  • haha i see workout protein but your fat

  • @TheTazzyT haha yeah thats what it does to you, btw I don't take protein. I got fat all by eating food. You should checkout a more recent video to see how fat I am now. Please leave a comment too!! Thank you!

  • @LavcoPriceTech haha I drink mayonase instead of water, cant even see my dick

  • It's curved at the bottom on purpose.

the curve is centered for better contact to the location of the cpu, in all actuality you really wouldn't want a perfectly flat surface as your just spreading the heat out over the cpu. This way you pull the heat away and don't hold it at it source till it is pulled away.

  • i watched that video later on .I decided to get rid of mine(V6) as it will only mount facing upwards on a socket 775 EVGA 790 I Ultra.I was happy with its performance, but i know based on my Thermalright eXtreme black in the same push pull config it could do better blowing front to back and exhausted .Good videos tho keep doing what your doing

  • didnt read all messages but did you guys measure the heatsink baseto see how elvel it was ? how flat was it ? I know my Beta V6 was not flat (slightly higher in dead center) and caused the movement.I polished it down to almost 0% and it fit snug.It was mentioned during Beta testing that it needed to be closer to flat and movement was VERY noticeable (and unacceptable)

  • @biohazardsperm No, we didn't check the flatness of the plate and I would have no way to machine it down any further. I expect a product to be perfect when I buy it. Check out the V6 fix video, it uses the V8 mounting solution and eliminates the movement and I think give better temps.

  • I'm still using the stock AM3 sync/fan that came with my phenom II, and a Cooler Master HAF 932 case. My temps never go above 35 on full load, granted I'm only at 3.5Ghz. What temps are you aiming for?

  • @Acuebed Do you have a dual core? My max load on my i5 @ 4.0 ghz is about 52 C

  • @LavcoPriceTech No, I have the 6 core model, with my computer placed on top of my desk, in free airflow space.

  • @Acuebed Those are some pretty awesome temps, how do you like it?

  • I installed it on AM3 socket and it does the same thing... But that's not a problem. It works fine. Great cooler!

  • @GamerAndReviewer Yeah It works great with the stock mounting solution but I am much more comfortable with the V8 styled brackets. How are your temps by the way?

  • @LavcoPriceTech I have an AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 3,6 GHz with around 30C with the simple use and close to 40C when the CPU get's "pushed"!

  • @GamerAndReviewer Nice, you should download prime95. Its a free program that maxes out your cpu. I am currently getting 25-27 C on my i5 at 4.0 ghz while I type this and zune software is running.

  • should of used a mini torch wrench, lolz

  • @drmurda hahahah I would have if there were torque specs.

  • ufc <3

  • @MoenSk8 yup

  • LOL

  • cheap china made screws??

i'll say cheap US made dumb white pig instead.

  • @lammatt Alright.

  • omg wat a fail just carry on goin gym looool

  • loooooooool see my video i got one v6gt and it rules looool what a noob

  • haahh over tighten lol

  • see what happens when you take to much protein lol!

  • @clarkjosel1 That was a pretty good one. lol

  • fail...

  • @Nevordan PROTEIN PROTEIN!!!!! Hahaha we love that stuff

  • Hehe

  • Yeah dont do that! Thank you for showing us what NOT to do

  • @88NGONE plus 1
