I never thought I'd get to see the one and only Carter Beauford and Mr. Roy "Futureman" Wooten funk it up live onstage with their respective bands jammin behind them! Thank you JayBTV for posting this magic we call live music. The riff from "Sojourn of Arjuna" fits so perfectly into the little drum jam. Genius, I tell you! Genius! And how about Jeff Coffin tearing it up right there in front of the late, great LeRoi Moore?! I wish I could've been there that night!
this set of bands possess the greatest musical talent i have ever heard.... imagine how awesome it is to be up there with such amazing musicians jamming with them
whats the dude in the pirate hat playing? Is that some sort of sound board? I am guessing by the solo, he is BF's drummer and there's no point in putting up two drum sets? I could be way off tho. One of the best renditions of #41...amazing driving song!
@Bunst16 it's his own home made midi drum machine named a "Synth-axe Drumitar" pretty much the whole thing is all little buttons for virtually any percussive sound he wants, it's pretty cool
@theryanbrooke - there was a DMB show I went to at msg in nyc... james brown & his entourage came out along with 5 or 6 guys that made up karl denson's tiny univers and they played james browns "sex machine" .... that's the only thing i can think of that came close to this much musical talent on the same stage.
Carter doesn't go all out and ruin the flow of the song. He has such a distinguished way of displaying his talent unlike many drummers. I guess that is why he plays with Dave Matthews!
@thegoattamer he was pretty ordinary in this to be honest. even aside from freezing up pretty bad when they wanted him to solo, his general playing didn't seem that tight either. but what would i know
You can hear Dave's voice a lot clearer in the mp3 version. If you type in "#41 4-20-02 mp3" into google you can get it. Definitely recommend downloading
Cont'd Love satisfies I believe that God has his eye on I believe the word, son of my high I believe in God has his eyes on I believe the words never'll go bad Even without the thought, be prepared to fly Many thousands more with love in our heart... We could save the world, You and me God Son of great, it'll be there And you and me will save every little babe, the way... I believe God has his own plan and I believe that we should vow, every woman/man may go live on...

6:20: After Dave says the Flecktones are the greatest in the Universe Bela looks at Dave and seems to say "thanks, you guys are pretty good too".

My heart is about to explode seeing victor standing so close to a Flea bass. I've always wanted to hear him play one of those.
