  • I've recently bought your music book from galactica, because of this song. 2 years ago i asked you if someday i could be able to play with my own hands this master piece, and you (or someone in your name) told me that it wouldnt take long. I've been waiting until that day it comes true, and finally it has.

Thank you, Bear. I really needed to play this.

(if you have no objection at all, i will upload a video playing it. It's wonderful, i fell in love since the first note i heard from it).

  • This is the piece that inspired me to start playing piano again after years of not touching it. I'm glad I haven't forgotten anything. Thank you so much Bear for showing me how much of a joy piano is, I'd almost forgotten.

  • @jackaldark use a youtube to mp3 converter(:

  • The LoveSong of J Alfred Prufrock | TS Elliot

That's what this reminds me of...

  • No make how satisfied I get with myself, Bear McCreary will always play this 10x better then me...

    :/

Oh well, it's cuz he's amazing....

  • i bet the one dislike on each of your video is the same moron

  • Is there an album or a place to download all these BSG Piano songs because I WANT THEM ALL! TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE!

  • I can't believe we have to put up with Lady Gaga, instead of listening to actual music like this!

  • I like his BSG-Score very much!

But theres a lot of Claude Debussy "Claire de lune" in it.

  • @andif8 just because it's atonal, all atonal music that isn't serial is gonna sound a bit like Debussy

  • @nb08d I agree completely. Any time anyone pulls out a whole tone scale it's going to remind almost everyone of Debussy. But there are points where it also is reminiscent of Schoenberg or maybe a bit more like Berg because in this piece, the parts that almost sound 12-tone seem to utilize a lot of intervals that we associate with tonal music. Great piece!

  • @SixSickSixOfficial hm I didn't catch that, are there areas where the piece uses 12 tone stuff? I have the score but I don't really feel like analyzing it lol

  • @nb08d I don't necessarily know if it was 12-tone since I don't have an ear trained that well, and can only tell if it's 12-tone if I'm analyzing the score. But there are points where it sounds 12-tone absolutely, but a much more tonally based twelve tone style (as contradictory as that is, ha!) In saying that I'm simply implying that it sounds twelve tone while utilizing intervals that we associate with tonality, thirds, fourths, and fifths.

  • ...though I have to say I too preferred the slower beginning in the studio version. Still - amazing piece, amazing performance!!

  • This piece is the reason pianos exist... I only wish people knew more about your work - you're right up there with the greatest composers of our time. You truly are an amazing artist - thank you so much.

  • Why so fast, Bear?

  • What style!

    Che stile..

  • What style!

  • Amazing, but to be honest I prefer the studio version because it's slower and I think that gives a better feel to the song. Still love it though. I'll be attending Comic-Con this year and would love to see Bear there!

  • Gahhh - so good! Watching this is like watching all of BSG compressed into 4:34 minutes while having a bunch of orgasms... but better.

  • Oh my, are you going to be doing more of these? I am already spending way too much time every day watching the others. Sigh. Makes me want to learn piano. Or maybe I should try playing these on guitar. Oooh... impossible mission!

  • one of my favorites, please keep doing these vids!

  • I remember you playing this at the House of Blues San Diego during Comic-Con 2009. Still gives me chills thinking about it. A beautiful piece of music!
