  • TWO OF MY BIGGEST HEROS IN ONE VID! :p

    i died im in heaven

  • what guitar+pickups is slash using here?

  • @000Z9A It's one of his signature guitars - the (Gibson USA) "Appetite 4 Destruction" model.

  • @Hawkeye62158 Thanks :d

Although I think the money I saved is not enough lol

  • @000Z9A Well, if you wanna sound like Slash, you don't need this particular model... ;-)

  • @Hawkeye62158 Nah I know but its my favourite slash guitar :d

This is the one he played at ritz in 88' right?

  • @000Z9A Right, he played two gtrs. at the Ritz-'88-gig (both LP replicas!) and this gtr. was one of them. Also he recorded AfD with this gtr. Btw: The original gtr. is NOT a Gibson LP, it's a replica built by Kris Derrig!

  • Slash can´t play the blues.

  • Makes you realize where Slash gets his guitar style

  • He looked like he was bored out of his skull, and he played like shit. It wasn't "bad" insofar as it didn't sound like two cats raping a whale, but he had absolutely no feel or phrasing. Pretty boring overall.

  • @wyssmaster Slash is sitting there thinking, "OK now I can't play too much or too fast because B.B. only knows 4 notes and a bend ....mustn't upstage the teacher, mustn't upstage the teacher......"

  • @minkorrh LOL! Of course now B. B. is an old man, but years ago he was a genius and one of the greatest guitarists ever! You should more listen to his records and older vids!

  • @minkorrh Holy shit <_< Are you seriously saying that Slash is a better guitarist than B.B. King? There is not a single living guitarist who would make such a claim (not even Slash himself).

i mean seriously kid there's this thing called phrasing and it basically means thinking through your playing and making it sound musical, rather than running through some scales

B.B. is, simply put, the master of blues vocal/guitar phrasing. Slash has no idea what phrasing is.

  • @wyssmaster LOL Oops I've offended the blues gods! I would never say Slash is a 'better' guitarist, it's just that every time I have heard B.B. King play it's never sounded that diverse. (a few vibrato notes and a bend)

I'm 43 so maybe B.B.'s older stuff was a little before my time - but I was always more of a big SRV fan. I'll go and have a listen to some of B.B.'s older stuff. For the record we agree on phrasing...Slash completely missed THAT lesson!

  • @wyssmaster I firmly believe that every genre has it's gods. B.B. king being 'The Man' when it comes to blues. But I"ll stand by my opinion that there are technically better, more creative players in other genres. There is no 'best' guitarist..it's all subjective according to preference. Here's an example of what I would consider (just opinion) one of the best things I've seen here on Youtube. Search here for 'scalibq 80s Rock Ballad - Les Pauls'. The raw emotion just screams at you.

  • Slash can play anything. Face it!

  • Slash is prolly having the same problem I'd have trying to play stitting right next to him......when you finally get to play with your mentor you feel like......can't explain......jammed with Jeff Healey once was amazing but awkward I had only been playing for 2 years and he was already a ledgend!!!........Kinda like pope preaching to Jesus himself ha ha

  • What's the ginger lynx doing there, Is he a chinese waiter?

  • @bracico Axl Rose's brother, lol no just kidding, he's the singer of simply red, he was supposed to sing after the blues jam

  • @Disco234jockey thanks, I knew who he is but he is definitely the odd one out! That's unnatural.

  • wasn't the best of slash. but let me just put it out there, he never took guitar lessons, and still learned to play like a boss. blues is not something just anyone can play. you gotta know scales and shit but i wouden't expect great sounding blues outta slash. hes a rockstar. come on :D

  • he isn't doing that much on the guitar for these guys to be going crazy about it they obviously don't play, this is nothing to his own stuff obviously but you get what I mean, I piss around with stuff like that so it's nothing special

  • Slash fuckin sucksss dude lol

  • ha King dont like Slash`s playing. just look at his face.

  • it looks like Slash is under stress, while B.B King is sitting next to him :)

  • Mick Hucknall must feel a bit awkward just sitting there.

  • ha ha ha this is fucking incredible blues playing by anyone's standards

  • thats what i love about gibson fender too me has about one great sound and very few get it out but a gibson has many good sounds and tones and this one right here sounds as wet as the fender sound

  • @theshag20 by that i mean good clean and somewhat blues but with a little funk not knocking fender but its not for me

  • I know it's slash, but I'm not hearing or seeing the feeling... It's a bit bland. Sounds good, don't get me wrong, but... Guess I can't describe it that well...

    B.B King's got it though.

  • @youtubian2500 Well, Slash is a blues-influenced rock guitarist, not a blues player. Here he plays a bit blues in the style of B. B. and that's it, no more, no less, no big deal. But it's interesting to see him do this - with a clean guitar tone! I think I saw him play this kind of traditional blues never before.

  • @youtubian2500

    B.B. IS it!!!

  • @youtubian2500 cut this crap of " not hearing or seeing the feeling"

  • ¡ Oh Diosss !

    Gracias . . .

  • slash is overrated :/

  • Slash on Stage with B B King? fucking disgrace!!! Slash isn't worthy....

  • @Tonestone420 Who the fuck do you think you are, saying that? Slash is one of the greatest guitarists on earth. If you have an arguement for that, blow it out your ass, because it's pure shit.

  • @Tonestone420 why not? slash is african american. he deserves the right to play the music of his family.

  • @TobyAarons So by that logic. Eric Clapton shouldn't play the blues having no black ancestry in him.. Who btw is a much more tasteful player than slash

  • @Tonestone420 very true.

  • I think slash did a better job of blues than BB could do of sweet chile of mine, lol.

  • boring...

  • God Bless BB King He has inspired so many guitar players

  • BB King talks when slash plays next to him.

  • even slash must have been nervous at that moment...

  • eres el mejor slash!!!

  • @luluespanha I don't think so

  • If you put away the gain, if you put away the distortion and all other effects - then there is the moment of truth. And I am surprised - thumbs up for Slash. It is not epic, it is not great - but it is ok. And the master of the old fashioned blues is sitting next to him - that isn´t easy ...

  • people underestimate Slash, he's the fuckin king of blues rock guitar playing, its not gonna be hard for him to play pure blues, the guy in my opinion is probably the most influential guitarist of the last 25 years, i bet more people play guitar because of him than BB King the guy is a pure fuckin legend!!!!!

  • @satch60 right brother!!it's not your opinion, it's just the truth!facts demonstrate it! at a first casting slash was not accepted by axl and izzy becuase he was too much blues..only after a second casting slash could enter in gnr. this is story. this is why crowd sing his solos and riffs during concert...because he comes from blues! he is one of the most influential guitarist ever!!

  • @1priano1 yeah but if it werent for bb king then slash probably wouldnt play guitar

  • @ConnorSelby oh man, I totaly agree with you!!, max respect for all fathers of blues. all inspiration starts from them

  • riley 'blues boy' king. johnny winter jammed with him at a club when johnny was just 18 years old. the whitest of all skinny white kids in an all black club and they went nuts for him. he turned the place upside down and b.b. told him he was destined to be a legendary blues man.

  • SLASH IS A VERY HUMBLE DOWN TO EARTH GUY THATS WHY HE HAS A LOT OF FANS COMPARE TO AXEL ROSE ;)

  • aun no pierde el toque

    es el mejor guitarrista!!!

  • all hail the great slash...but i don't think he plays the blues all that well...just my opinion

  • Comment removed

  • what he fuck is the guy on the left of Slash doing there on stage= -.-

  • @DUDEFROMDUTCHLAND It's Mick Hucknall (Simply Red). Also on stage: Ronnie Wood, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi (on the right side next to B. B.).

  • @Hawkeye62158

I believe he meant BB in his joke :)

  • Comment removed

  • @superchillin85

    You racist basterd

  • @DUDEFROMDUTCHLAND He's a singer, he's sold around 50m albums.

  • Omfg i loved this! :D but wtf is up with the FIRST recommened video to THIS video!? O.O

  • is that Mick Hucknell on the other side??

  • bb seemed impressed with slash,s playing and blues is not normally slash,s style but he pulled it off ok

  • @shredmaster100 i've seen slash play blues plenty of times, not unusual to see rock/metal guitarists play blues... Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Kirk Hammett, Joe Satriani all play blues on their downtime and when not playing metal... i think any guitarist worth their salt can play blues when they want to...

  • they are all great players but they will never be able to play blues licks like srv clapton or hendrix those guys were playing blues all their lives and hendrix just took it to the next level also a really good player to check out is a guy called steve howe he plays classically influenced rock with a band called yes and was voted best overall guitarist 5 years in a row from 1972to1977 a friend told me about him and steve was the yngwie malmsteen of his day a very fast player

  • @shredmaster100 oh yeah totally agree, they are great guitarists but they do not even come close to the blues masters like EC, SRV, Buddy Guy, BB etc... i guess it all comes down to personal taste n style really... i like all of em! lol

  • @shredmaster100 uh, BB King?

  • @ZenProductions12 What makes the blues difficult is that´s hard to come with something unique or original.

  • @deapwavelio i think what's makes it difficult for many is that you can't simply play the notes and be happy you got them all. You've gotta make this note sing and that note whistper and another note wail. Plus when you play something slow and on clean it's easy to hear errors. Plus if you're not used to the bending and the cadence of songs it can be hard to just feel how you should play and it's easy to sound robotic.

  • @blakmagik4 It depends on what you practtice more, both ways you got to work the notes or just sound robotic.

  • Slash always looks so bored when he plays. He doesn't show any facial expression or movement at all. It's a big change from the old days.

  • Poor old guy is falling asleep.

  • Can you imagine trying to improv at the RAH with BB King staring at your fretboard? Jesus Christ...

  • i was there!

  • this guy is awesome. Do you see the skull in his les paul? I've got it tattoed in my arm. Rock n' fuckin' roll dudes!

  • the best of best of world

  • It looks as BB King would think: Man, there's still a bit of blues in this black hat!!!

  • F-ing Slash has guts for sure. I wouldn't play if BB was in the same county as me.

  • MICK HUCKNALL, SLASH, AND BB KING IN ONE ROOM!!!!! i'm dead i swear...

  • @Riffmeister12

    right!!! i'm with ya!

  • =)=)=)=)=)=)=)=) =)

  • amazing
