Why are there a lot of things in fitness called Bulgarian? Bulgarian dead-lift, Bulgarian squat, Bulgarian bag, Bulgarian this and that. Are Bulgarians generally fit?

@Riverdexter ...well this particular exercise device was created by a Bulgarian wrestling coach, Ivan Ivanov, hence the name. The Bulgarian split squat and it's variations comes from the Bulgarian weightlifting system which was design in the 70s and 80s and created numerous world and Olympic champions.

@Riverdexter bulgarians are some of the best athletes in the world and their two biggest sports are powerlifting and wrestling so its not suprising that alot of equipment and exercises have bulgarian in the title. plus if ivan ivanov endorses it you should do it he is wrestling royalty

@Riverdexter hhahahahhahahahahah well all i can say and every one thats not a hater for no reason , YES Bulgarians are sure generally the most fit , and if your interested you should know what is it to BE bulgarian and what does it mean , which is impossible , cuz it will take years of finding out , only the ones who really care . довиждане.

@Dankata22 Thanks for the input =) Well, I know Dimitar Berbatov is Bulgarian. And I have seen Bulgarian boxers around. But I really want to have that Bulgarian Bag. =)

@Riverdexter it's all about the visual image that the name implies

in bulgaria they just swing sheep around by the ankles, not bags... its an actual competition, but when they tried to patent "sheep swing" it didn't sound nitty gritty enough
