I think its because the davy jones reference is a reference to a real pirate myth, so davy jones in pirates of the carribean is a reference to the myth aswell

The 3:46 part is probably my favourite piece of music in the R&C series. I often leave the main menu of Quest For Booty running just so I can hear it again and again and again.
