  • Music of a now era and it's about the moment. Don't ever let a beauitful woman or good looking guy pass you by. Never second guess a discussion you make now.

  • Kind've reminds me of the times when my Grandma and I would drop acid together in her shower stall :) I miss that.

  • @BalletBoy007 ...yeah totally. fucking amazing song nonetheless.

  • I made a huge piece of artwork based on this song..

  • @originalcynmv Let's see it!

  • even after this time cant hear this song without tears in the eye

  • That was fucking painful

  • one of the best 2 minutes of an album ever

  • i need more songs that sound exactly like this

  • Abstract art of emotion. I am in a glass case of emotion!!! BAXTER!

  • hypnotic song..I always picture Daniel Plainview sitting on this mountain of gold overlooking the dried up oil fields..

  • this song means more and more to me the older i grow. i'm leaving my hometown for the first time, and i've felt ever distant from my best friends as they live far away. now the few friends i've finally started making here will be far from me too. is the universe going to be constantly expanding the older i get? "where do your friends go? where do they see you?"....

  • @thankyoupleaseable Are you taking the midget lady from the cover with you?

  • I used to live on a farm

    I didn't live on a farm

  • So... sweetness cums suffering, huh?

  • wowwwwwwwww

  • the absolute beauty of this song is so crushing and overwhelming at times that i refrain from listening to it.. however every time i do i'm always happy that i did.

this song will haunt me for years to come, and that's a really, really good thing :-)

  • so pretty every time i listen to this i get all mushy

  • Took a little time to grow into it, but after I heard Helicopter, then this song, everything came easy. I understood its beauty. Go Deerhunter. I wish I was the man to tell that faggot to turn it up, its really good!

  • April 13 by Atlas Sound?

  • deerhunter is the band i'm most disappointed about for having to sell my bonnaroo ticket

  • This man Bradford Cox is so disgustingly talented!!!

  • Easily my favorite band ATM

  • yup I agree 5:00 and onward is pretty much orgasmic

  • I love the switch of tunes around 5:00.

But I also love everything else about this song. It's an amazing tribute song.

  • I love Bradford Cox. Hes a musical and artistic genious...live on Bradford!!

  • "I want you, I want you so bad."

    - Bob Dylan, "I Want You," 1966

"I want you, I want you so bad."

    - The Beatles, "I Want You," 1969

  • @thinedoor2

This song doesnt say i want you so bad?

  • Answer: I was pointing out that comparisons can be made between the lyrical and musical content of any number of songs (many of which have earned recognition as having their own merit) that incidentally share similarities with older works. Borrowing and variation have long been conventions of art, and it's kinda silly to diminish the value of work of imagination because it (probably unintentionally) echoes another.

  • @thinedoor2 shit youface

  • "You're so sad and lonely. Yeah, a sad-eyed phony. You remove yourself from harm. You're not really from the farm."

    --Silkworm, Firewater, Killing my ass,1996

"I lived on a farm yeah. I never lived on a farm."

--Deerhunter, Halcyon Digest, He would have laughed, 2010

  • my soul shimmers jyrating spastic quarters and i give consent........

  • Dear Hunter: I miss you so much

  • 5:45 - tears streaming down my hairy face

  • Can't wait to see them at Bonnaroo!!! Representing ATL, GA!!!!

  • While "Earthquake" is the most earth-shattering track on this album, the songwriting and composition here is undoubtedly the most mature I've ever heard Bradford Cox. The way the music sweeps into the second half alongside Cox's crooning is something out of a Neil Young live show.

  • love the work tony, keep it up you saucy devil. ;-)

  • Wonderful song,like!

  • amazing

  • best record i have heard since fleet foxes self titled (cept for this is happening)

  • this song is soo damn good!

  • masterpiece....what a melody!!

  • what do you do when you're sleeping?

  • The melody a 4:25 and beyond is dream like.

  • This song just drags on and on and on and on and on and...

  • @burnindownthehouse

    its cause ure TOO high

  • Nice song.

  • Beautiful song; amazing album

  • 4:25 to 5:15 .. I see the universe playing.

  • at 5:20 it gets amazing

  • Album of the year indeed

  • Amazing album. I was a bit surprised though at how abruptly this track ends....leaves me wanting more and makes me always repeat the album again atleast once :D

(I guess that might be the reason for Deerhunter to make it like that?)

    Thumbs up to Deerhunter!

  • @infernia7blade I think it ends abruptly because of how this song symbolizes Jay Reatard's life and how it ended too short. That's just my take though

  • @daedley Aah, thanks for the info. I just checked wiki and indeed this track is a tribute to Jay Reatard, I wasn't aware of that. It's nice to know why artists take some production or editing choices, sometimes it's just really unclear as to why something sounds the way it does. Going to check out The Reateards/Lost Sound :)

  • @infernia7blade

I believe that the reason the track ends so abruptly is because this track is dedicated to Jay Reatard... who died of a cocaine overdose at 29. So, like Jay's life, the track is cut short.

  • so good

  • 258 views for the album of the year and one of the most emotional songs of the past decade!?

  • @menikmati0 overstatement of the year/decade

  • @menikmati0 right now it has 33333

  • love this song!

  • R.I.P Jay Reatard

    We Love You

  • @aselfishimpulse speak for yourself...i don't love jay retard

  • @foilseal I am speaking for myself... and many others who loved and admired him and his music. No one here cares if you don't like Jay, this is a song/video for celebrating his life. If you don't want to, why dont you shut the fuck up and have some respect for the dead.
