im looking to maybe buy a .270 winchester rifle for my sniper/long range firing rifle? anybody recomend this round or any comments? Im looking to use for longer range shooting then my other rifles, like 150yards 200 etc. I want just becuase i dont have any other scoped rifles and the 270 looks like it would go well in my collection

@PLPolishPowerPL The .270 would be a great caliber for long range up to five or six hundred yards even. if you want an even more powerful long range gun though, go with a 7 mm magnum. they are like a .270 on steroids
@a92123 Factory loads are very shootable in the BFR, but handloads even at the low end of starting loads using hornady H110 are heavy, but a lot of fun.
too bad Larry Potterfield screwed me over on my Midway USA order and won't allow any of my comments on his websites product reviews because he wants to make himself look better to suck more people in
CHoF seems like a great addition to the Midway video catalog and I would love to see more cartridges in the future. (I would also like to suggest a video on 7.62x54mmR, but I don't know if you guys even check the comments)
Also, I would like to add to the discussion and say that the 45-70 is a great round that really hurts on both ends of the barrel. There are few experiences more enjoyable than than watching a 500 grain round sail down range and hit the target.
what do you do with all those dead animals

Why would anyone choose the 30-30 over this if this has a bigger caliber and more powder?
dirkbikeman1001 5 months ago
why is it put beneath the 30 30. it is way more powerful

I thought the '70' was the year (1870) for when the cartridge was designed and patented... I learned something new today. Lol

@Mchermsquatch no, it might be because it uses 70 grains of black powder.

There are also some revolvers that use the 45-70 as I recall. Ouch on both ends!
