  • haha @ jeremykjones2003 idk if i agree muscle makes huge gains with minor bolt ons quite the opposite hondas well don't have tq and for example a cold air intake on a civic gives you better gas mileage and maybe 5hp big deal.

  • @eurotuner99. a cold air intake on a camaro like this one could possibly add up to 60 hp. so as for not getting a lot of power for a bolt on. that went down the drain.

    a lid, long tubes, !cats, y pipe, cam, and cutout can net you 120+ hp in this car, so i agree with the rest of your comment.

  • Honestly i think the best bang for the buck for an allmotor setup has Hytechs S2000 setup. Im not sure how many of them are around but i read about it in Honda Tuning awhile back. Made like 280rwhp on Hondata stock displacment (2.2), Header back exhaust, cam, and throttle bodies. The trick is that all the parts are engineered for each other and sold as a kit rather than a grab bag of random aftermarket parts. Around 5G's i think

  • wow.. there are some really ignorant people on this post... The reason honda uses small engines with high gains is because that is what they specialize in...

    the reason american muscle is what it is is because they specialize in that... no your not going to get such gains on a larger engine because of the size of the engine, the torque put out by larger engines is awesome

    if you want handling with preformance.

    don't buy muscle

    if all you want to do is race straight... by muscle...

  • @jeremykjones2003 For someone calling people ignorant you really are ignorant, Most modern muscle cars would out handle just about any honda, including the over 2 ton Challenger, you don't have to believe me but you're more than welcome to compare skidpad tests. The 2010/11 mustang has a solid rear axle and has supercar scores on the skidpad. In other words it out turns most ferrari's and lambos.

  • @admiraljimmy An S2000 held the record for the highest skidpad for a modified production car. I believe it was 1.18G's. A Challenger R/T is around .85G's, SRT8 is a little over .90G's. The stock AP1 S2000 is .92G's... nothing to frown at. It's not a straight line runner in comparison to some of these large displacement V8's(S2K is 205-210WHP stock), but I promise you(from personal experience) that it is a much better car than most you'll see at the track. Go see for yourself!

  • The s2k motor F20 got motor of the year. It's a work of a masterpiece how such small 2.0 liter can put out so much power with only 4 cylinders yet get decent mileage 26MPG highway. With The s2k you get the full package. Leather seats, Push start, and so much more. On top of that it handles like no other. Go drive one and see for yourself. S2k got car of the year by readers of top gear for 3 years. 2004,2005, and 2007. Go look it up. Enough said

  • in my opinion i thing the american muscle is agreat bang for the buck when your lookin for out of the box balls to the wall but haters hate if you want talk shit...it takes alot of time money and skill to tune a 2.2 litre motor to keep with a 5.7your lookin at 300 plus versus 220 i think out of the box i think they both did a great job on their cars no hatin on either end here

  • Typical Honda fan boy, I am not denying that they can make a good motor and an efficient machine. But the 100 hp per liter argument is weak, it would not hold up at a higher displacement, I assure you that.

    The LS1 motor is one of the best and most popular platforms out there, you can do a lot more with it, and if you wanted to put it mod for mod with the 2 Liters of Fury, use your imagination.

    Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I had 2 passangers too, versus none in the S2k, Hah!

  • PS. It only comes with 305 engine horsepower, which translates to about 290 rwhp, look up some dyno sheets. If I was at 350 HP (full exhaust, throttle body, intake manifold) I would have eaten him alive.

  • your 5.7 liter shoujld beat him under any cirumstance u have a FEAKIN 5.7 liters with what 305HP? honda makes more then that with half the displacement my friend. im not saying your engines are bad but in comparison pound for pound? no chance. i guarantee honda had 5 liters you will see at least 400+HP. the honda S2k is a masterpiece were talking a 2 liter engine that keeps pace with a american V8 "muscle" now take  the nsx 3.2 liters 292 hp and a high 12 second car. out of 3.2 liters.

  • 5.7L doesn't guarantee anything, look at the old muscle cars with 6.6, 7.2 liter motors that barely keep up today.

    And like I said, it keeps pace until about 70mph, look how hard I was pulling shifting into 3rd, and then 4th, I let off once I had a full car, and I was moving at that point.

    If you need another daytime shot (I have no doubt he will race again, and he is modded now too!) I will just prove my point further.

  • wht mods cause we all know s2ks are basically tuned to the max, unless he has a sc or turbo there will maybe be max 10hp gain.

  • well, it kept up until about 75-80 until i started pulling super hard, its my friends car... i wouldnt be so proud of honda engineering, for the price they dont put out as hard as they should. its going to be crying time for honda in the next couple years, check out the new lines of muscle!

  • Keeping up would mean the car is actually staying pretty even, not being left behind. If the Camaro didn't pull hard until 75-80 I would guess the Camaro has 273s or something.

  • it started pulling right away, but taking off big time around 75-80, its my car, 3.42 gears on the 6speed

  • Yeah hes got a little bit of work done, my car is pretty much stock, I only have a LID (not even full intake) and muffler... Plan on finishing exhaust (minus headers for the moment) in the spring time
